can you explain to me in 'short-bus terms' what a "friends we met along the way" ending is? is it like, when a story ends with the MC not achiveing their dreams, but is fine with the outcome because of the journey? or is there something more to it?
@@SleepParty30 It's a short hand for 'afterschool special' type stories where the character is trying to get some significant prize, at the end they don't get the prize (Either it's destroyed or turns out to have always been fake), but conclude that they got the real prize in the form of the friends they made pursuing it.

Shanks knows he could kill that man at any time. Which is why it takes a bigger man like that to restrain himself. Notice e not cowering in fear. He's relaxed that entire time because he isn't scared.
One Piece is one of those stories that, as a general whole, only gets better the further you get into it. Many of these long-running stories become stale because they had a certain amount planned out, and then that villain is beaten and the author is left to come up with some newer 'bigger evil' and 'grander goal' to accomplish to excuse the series continued existence. One Piece is one of those manga which has the same goal from start to finish, but where the time spent seeing this crew of weirdos come together and seeing the sights of the world actually allows the story to grow by means of your own growing understanding. The impression you get of One Piece in its early beginnings is 'basic', in a way. Simple. Villain of the week-esque as it tries to collect a set of core crew members, a ship and all those other basic 'we are a crew' things. But it grows. When you look at the greater whole of the story in terms of its length and storytelling, this first season is merely the majority of what could be considered a prologue. A very fun prologue, mind you... but it is the foundations upon which its global success is based. Over time, the story will slowly start to move away from telling stories that tell singular stories about particular islands and the people there, and when that point is finally reached, you come to realize that every single arc that came before was sneaking little bits of info dumping and world knowledge into your mind. By the time this crew can be said to have made a proper name for themselves and they might be recognized upon sight, you will realize this story is no smaller in scale and ambition than the Lord of the Ring, Wheel of Time and Game of Thrones: the Strawhats are just the proverbial village idiots from a rural region who serve as our eyes and allow us to witness the story. And sure, they are protagonists who have amazing adventures... but the story of One Piece focuses on so much more than just them. For all the things we know the One Piece is NOT (the friends along the way it is confirmed to be not!), the speculations of what the One Piece might be only changes the more you learn about the story. The series is working towards its conclusion, and fans still have a thousand theories to match it! Enjoy your travels!

The world is under the tyranny of the world government. The one piece is more complicated than you think. It could be the weapon that can be use by only one person in the world. If I can resume this show, luffy and his 10 members are meant to free the world and the story is just amazing!
Devil fruits are weird. There are a lot of different types. and only one of each. (Only one Gum-Gum Fruit, only one Chop-Chop fruit, etc) When the person who eats a Devil Fruit dies, the fruit they ate reincarnates itself in a nearby fruit of any type (So there is no "Devil Fruit Tree" out there) There are three "Classes" of Devil Fruit: Paramecia, Zoan and Logia. Paramecia fruits grant basically one superpower (Like the ability to split your body parts (Buggy), The ability to steal years off someone's life and use those years to animate objects (Linlin)) and are the most common. Zoan fruits let you transform partially or completely into an animal like a leopard, Giraffe, or even a human (Tony Chopper is a Reindeer who ate a "Human Human" Zoan Devilfruit) - Some Zoan types are Mythical animals like the Phoenix, Dragons, and so on. Logia Fruits let you transform into an element, like Fire, Water, earth (And are the most rare devil fruits) And it just gets weirder from there. (Spoiler ahead for Episodes 1000+ of the Anime) 5 4 3 2 1 Through the entire series up until near the end of the Wano arc, Luffy's Devil fruit is called the "Gumu Gumu No mi" and everyone assumes it's a Paramecia. Then suddenly, there's a scene where the old leaders of the World Government are talking about how they renamed that fruit 800 years ago to try to keep people from realizing what it really was, and they've been trying to get their hands on it ever since, because what it really is, is the Human Human Mythical Zoan Type: Nika (The grinning Sun God). They had finally managed to find it, when Shanks stole it and Luffy ate it.
We only know 2 things about the One Piece: 1. It is a physical thing. It's not "the friends we made along the way," cliche. 2. Roger didn't assemble it, but he found it. And when he did, he laughed.

the anime is even better hoping you start it soon too
Yes it is. Honestly I am cautiously looking forward to the remake of the older anime episodes they are working on.

It is said they will endeavour to be truer to the source material.
Anime is better but the pacing is shit
@@abisheknair2523other than dressrosa and some parts of wano it is fine is you are binge watching it but it is not very good when watching weekly
You can't think of this the same as you would in human history of pirates. This isn't Earth and it's not in the same time period.
Welcome to the one piece fan club. Watch the anime it's worth it. Ull cry and laugh at the Sametime and not how to feel about it.
I'm a fan but now I'm waiting for the anime reaction.
The world is under the tyranny of the world government. The one piece is more complicated than you think. It could be the weapon that can be use by only one person in the world. If I can resume this show, luffy and his 10 members are meant to free the world and the story is just amazing!
One Piece live action was the most watched Netflix tv show in 2023
Let’s recruit another one!!
Let’s goooooo
Welcome onboard
All your predictions assume that this is a normal shonen
8:35 The currency in the one-piece world is belly also prouncced (beri) and thats a lot of money, not as much as you think it is but still a lot.
Can’t wait till you start the anime
Devil fruits are weird. There are a lot of different types. and only one of each. (Only one Gum-Gum Fruit, only one Chop-Chop fruit, etc) When the person who eats a Devil Fruit dies, the fruit they ate reincarnates itself in a nearby fruit of any type (So there is no "Devil Fruit Tree" out there)
There are three "Classes" of Devil Fruit: Paramecia, Zoan and Logia.
Logia Fruits let you transform into an element, like Fire, Water, earth (And are the most rare devil fruits)
And it just gets weirder from there. (Spoiler ahead for Episodes 1000+ of the Anime)

Through the entire series up until near the end of the Wano arc, Luffy's Devil fruit is called the "Gumu Gumu No mi" and everyone assumes it's a Paramecia.
We only know 2 things about the One Piece:
1. It is a physical thing. It's not "the friends we made along the way," cliche.
2. Roger didn't assemble it, but he found it. And when he did, he laughed.
Why are always everyone spoiling things?
@@finanightmare1993 It's inevitable.
@@IamMeHere2See u still don'T need to spoil it right away
