    Nice bike but sadly illegal in Victoria the nanny state. Fines can be over $2000. I don't think I'd want the authorities to see the footage on the roads.

      And most other states as well. Exceeds the 250w limit

    FYI the reason to lock the forks is so they don't compress when you're out of the seat climbing a big hill.

    Greetings Mark; This was good, in fact I do like the idea of a fold up E-bike....thinking of times when I am using my Subaru Outback and want to have a ride, this E-bike would be fun and yes I would wear my bike helmet....I am going to consider this one....David...Adelaide....etc....nice...

    Great review. Found this by accident, but I soon recognised the scenery around K Flat.

    At 30 Kg it's too heavy to lift for my liking, nice looking bike though and in Vic it's a 250W max on public roads etc.

    How do you Turn on the front light 💡?😂 I just picked mine up and it doesn’t come on 😢what button do you press? I like the bike but the handlebars are too narrow so it steers like a scooter 🛴 😂

    How do you change the speed settings to allow it to reach 40kmph?

    Folding bikes can be taken on trams and buses in vic, regular bikes cannot. . So thats good for commuting if the weather goes bad.

      I've seen many people with there bicycles on rams and trains here in Melbourne's and around Victoria. They have dedicated spots for them

      This one weighs 30Kg, most of them are about 25Kg. Too heavy for this old boy to lift into my truck.

    E Bikes are really taking off in USA now days 👍😎 Front lockout for suspension will help you go a bit faster without the up and down movement.

    I don’t think these are legal in NSW. Max 250 watt and 25 kph. Nice features though.

    About as good as you'll get for the $$. Not trying to poo poo ya bike Mark. But......in the scheme of things.....Ya get what ya pay for. I've worked on plenty of these things over the years. The drivetrain, cranks, gears, chain, cassette and chainrings etc. Are the cheapest of the cheap......for normal pedal bicycles. Now your putting and extra???3-4hp thru it !! It don't last long. And never shifted well anyway. A decent ebike, with decent components will set you back 5-10k and upward. It's fkn scary mate. Our record ebike sale was $23000 😱😱 AND....he spent more on it ! Yes, you read that right.

    I understand the maximum power requirement for bicycles is 200w and speed 25kph in australia to be road legal. If you need more power and speed best to get a motorcycle(your choice of engine) and licence.

    • @unclejohn5012
      @unclejohn5012 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The whole idea of an ebike is so you can get your cardio in and makes long distance better as it requires less effort.

    • @davidobrien4292
      @davidobrien4292 ปีที่แล้ว

      True. I believe in having all 3 units. Bicycle ebike and motorbike. All 3 have their limits on usage and each has its own benefits. Nothing wrong with all modes. Cheers

    They aren't bad bikes, but you go full-on with it. The battery won't last long. If someone wants something for running to the shops or a short commute to work it's great.

  • @FiveRustyNails

    Surely not road legal in Australia

  • @AfricaTwin-Stuff
    @AfricaTwin-Stuff ปีที่แล้ว +4

    You forgot to mention-
    Ebikes in NSW and vic are illegal to ride on public roads or paths if they are over 250w.
    Also illegal to have only throttle assist faster than 6kph.

    • @robjones2852
      @robjones2852 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yep, they want them to be totally useless for actual transportation--because they don't even want us to stray from our allotted 15-20 minute zone on an eff-ing e-bike.
      Jesus--your average hair dryer is probably 2,000 W's; but a 251 W e-bike is a risk nanny will not allow us to take.

    • @Cartsp70
      @Cartsp70 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Freki. lol 😂 probably not plus they would have to know the formula because a multi meter doesn’t calculate watts , only volts amps and ohms so watts = AxV 🤣👍🏾

    I converted my old bike to electric to commute to work. Charge the battery at work and 30 mph on the bike trails. Plus, you can go anywhere a bike is allowed. They are great for their purpose.
    As battery tech improves, Ev's will become more useful.

    No F@!$ing way i put any them electric vehicles in my car , shed or near house , all water you got will not put them out ask any fire fighter you just let them burn out they say even at wreckers they can combust after still so they submerse cars etc in tanks water so batteries submersed.
