Good stuff man ⁉️✅✅
@Brett Kollmann hey man, I get it, a full on homer no hiding it, you know this. I was once in your paradigm so I dig the passion. Ya I can’t stand that division , dislike the GIANTS the most & always have and I extremely dislike the east coast ( maybe jus as much as you dislike us) in fact even going as far as to visit & buy merch - have a cocktail @ LT’s and then we drive all excited through the parking lot area with thoughts of Pat Summerall & John Madden in the Booth freezing sipping cocktails ( Summerall did do that for years up until the last couple years in the Booth ) and thinking of the great matchups held at that once iconic stadium built in the swamps - wasteland of Jersey, the Hoffa narrative, which gave it more lore and just how I feel - felt , driving by the Stick, remembering all the games I attended - viewed on TV, and the legends from the real era of pro football that suited up in the below sea level, rain soaked grass fields of January playoff games.
Games of my then Favorite Team Of All Time ( SF49ers) and some say in their own right, that 80s team that stayed together was the best team - squad assembled ever? Some say Dallas’ 90s teams were the best ever, some say the Steelers, Giants .. but in the end something looked off each and every year, to include “ THE CATCH || “ when Owens caught and held on as time near expired from a laser dart thrown by Young #8 to #81 on a post route with 6 defenders around him and wins the game with 49ers lover Madden going nuts with excitement at the win.
So, sorry my man you’re still stuck thinking that billions upon billions USD $$ currency, wagered every single game, 3-4 times a week now, will be decided by a scrawny field goal kicker or a errant pass that got picked when it should have not been, like when SF in 92’ starts off the playoff gabs @ SF vs Dallas in the Ship when Young throws a 70 yard bomb 🏈 to Jerry Rice to open the first drive and called back by holding and they NEVER showed the replay nor can you find it on any film online, phantom call and Dallas wins going on three year run with SF winning 2 of 3 Ships in 92’ 93’ (94’ SF wins it all) and going back two more times after 94’. Look at today’s football, Rigged entertainment with so obviously scripted my kids can see it and normies are now catching on to these magnet gloved players ( facts jus search magnet football & gloves ) and the kickers footballs, as you watch a enclosed stadium game and the ball starts out perfectly then out of nowhere, the ball goes wide right at about 15 yards before going through suddenly is called “ shanked or “he really had a bad angle on his approach “ exude .. the endless wide open with no one around touchdowns in the last seconds, the interceptions thrown right into defending players arms .. it’s all scripted theater 🎭
and wagering outcomes with no love or respect for my once beloved teams and the sport has been infiltrated with mainstream propaganda. Lakers my squad since Magic & Michael Cooper , Jamal Wilkes Smooth As Silk era Same with basketball, done ✅ !! LA Dodgers with 10 pennants in Last 12 years and the best team in baseball loses almost every year to some rag bag squad and loses, loses badly done ✅!! LA Kings my squad since 1979 as a 11 year old with Two Cups d🏆 🏆 done ✅ and how soft and watered down with teams named The Kraken now... haha is hilariously ridiculous, yet the masses consume..

Oh and I’m up 6,550.00$ this year to play with heading into the nfl playoffs and should be the best postseason season ever yet!!
So Daniel Jones in this offense is basically a pathetic little baby and Daboll has to be his father and hold his hand and tuck him in at night
It's crazy to think about how you made this one and a couple weeks back you talked about the Vikings bad defense. It completely made sense Ny won and watching live you could just see it. Daboll completely out coached the Vikings
I'm only 1 minute in... but I TRULY HOPE that The Buffalo Bills get the majority of the credit for this. But I have a feeling that unless you are a true die hard Buffalo Bills fan... or Someone who considers themselves an actually analayst who doesnt just watch highlights... would notice.
Buffalo Bills 2017. 18 year Playoff Drought. We took an D Coach + Assistant GM from Carolina. We then changed the culture by what I thought were suicide moves... (AKA BradBerry for Giants) The Bills traded Watkins who we gave 2 1sts for... Darby for a 3rd, Marcell Dareus a number 3 overall pick/probowler for a 5th round pick....+ ate one of the biggest dead caps ever... But the reason they did it was they wanted the change the 18 yr playoff drought culture... And even in the 1st year we made the playoffs...
This seems like deja vu... It truly does... And it reminds me of what the Bills did.... They use to joke and call us the Buffalo Panthers... cuz we would sign 5-10 players from the panthers....
Well... Daboll + Assistant GM from the Bills followed suit... got rid of players... and supported player they believed in... Not only that... They were constantly looking at the Bills waiver wire and might have stolen a potentially Number 1 or 2 WR in Isiah Hodgens... Its still way too early to know... but if he keeps up the way he's playing... He will be at the very worst... a number 2 Tee Higgins imo.
I had us winning 5 games this year I’ll tell you the truth. This is pretty much the EXACT same team from 2021, who won only 4 GAMES. Crazy what coaching staff could do!
First of all this years draft class by Schoen has been beyond huge for us, from early to late rounds. As long as the signing of Felincio, Fabian Monerou, and ward. That being said I do not infer if Gettleman hired Daboll and not Judge if he would still have a job
Daboll learned from the best: Sean McDermott
Don't worry NY: Buffalo is here to save you 💯
I honestly think you can argue that the roster itself is actually overall WORSE than it was a year ago, just goes to show what good coaching can do
@@foreversevenfold1666 100% agree, our secondary last year was so good, Bradberry, Adoree, Xavier, Jabrill, Julian, and Logan Ryan. The biggest difference this year is Wink Martindale is a complete genius and has had the defense playing even better than last year with significantly worse talent and terrible injury luck. Then for the offense it really came down to Saquon being healthier and someone that isn’t dumb calling plays
They’re worse than 2021 that receiving core is TERRIBLE
You managed to make "Brian Daboll is a wizard and Saquan is a Demigod" into a 25 minute video lmao

As a Giants fan, none of us are fuming mad. This information is explanation of why we're happily surprised this season. I thought we'd be hot ass again but no question Daboll is Daboss
That Kollmann curse hit New York like the 80’s crack epidemic my GOD
I LOVE this Giants Coaching Staff
You have your HC, Brian Daboll from Buffalo, OC, Mike Kafka from Kansas City and Wink Martindale, DC from Baltimore, they literally just took coaches from the best AFC Teams, A+ coach building by the Giant's GM Joe Schoen
Then Kafka and Wink both getting rumors for HC candidates, really hope they don’t get stolen because it could easily cripple us
Joe Schoen was also from Buffalo, too!
We’ll be lucky to have everybody back next season.
Giants are my 2nd favorite team. Daboll was literally born in Canada grew up in West Seneca. Went to a Catholic school. Not sure which one.
Daniel is improving with each game we play. Confidence is a slight issue with Danny but the past month he’s grown up alot. This coaching staff wants to play a time of possession style of play, limit big plays and have long time eating drives. We want to hang around all day, take you into the deep water and see who drowns first.
Put some respect on my boy Daniel Jones name!!!
Danny dimes is gonna have confidence issues. He was drafted way too early. And the media CRUCIFIED him for it…. And he was drafted into a bad offense so his experience was FAR from ideal. I think he’s gonna be mentioned with Herbert Burrow ect….
Good vibes coming from ravens fan. Will be watching some more giants football next year. The team’s officially intrigued me.
@@user-mx8rn6tj8h thanks man that Ravens game earlier in the was a hell of a battle. Y’all hardened us for this stretch. All the best next season.

Just play this vid from 13:41 to understand how much Saquon Barkley and the D carried Daniel Jones and how little he was asked to do on offense. His job basically was to not lose the game, and it resulted in tons of safe throws. When the Giants faced a good D they got blown out because Daniel Jones being asked to win a game was The Line That Shalt Not Be Crossed.
And then they died by giving Jones the most disgusting contract ever
You mentioned him missing open throws. It might seem like that but most of the time in previous seasons he did make those throws and the receivers just dropped them. (Evan Engram, Slayton, Golladay) to name a few. At that point jones doesn’t trust those guys to make that play vs him getting the first down with his legs.
Good point. A bigger incentive that Daboll went more for the run game this season besides that most teams run base nickel nowadays too.
Slayton will drop the easiest TD but catch the hardest TD
Engram was gone and Golladay barely played. Not the best logic to explain why hes not taking those shots
@@JohnBoy84 what else do you want him to do ? When Joe judge was in his head for two years saying don’t take a risk when there is no need and we have 7 point lead. He didn’t develop his confidence. Did you not see him rookie year just slinging everything ?
@eyopowerranger94 I want him to throw it downfield when players are open.
Also I want Giants fans to defend Jones on absolutely everything. It’s ok for Jones to have his flaws and make mistakes, every QB does.
Would love an episode on winks defense at some point. There’s just so much wild stuff I don’t fully understand and it would be awesome to hear you break down those crazy blitz packages
He has stuff from his time in Baltimore
There’s an episode from thinking football if I remember right
I scream in joy that you’ve finally made a giants video since the “damn Daniel” video then I remembered the curse and now I’m horrified.
Long time giants fan. Would've really liked to see some break down on the o-line's pass blocking. It's horrendous from what ive seen. To me as long as DJ got the ball out and completed a pass we were happy. This off season will be huge for DJ in his progression to make that next step.
Talkin Giants do oline reports weekly, if that's something you'd be interested in
May I also recommend Big Blue Banter's weekly film analysis?
@@MrSilverHairI think he will. Judge and Garrett really coached him out of taking any risks down the field, when we know he has the arm talent to hit deep throws. One offseason with Daboll and Kafka and an improved pass protection and I think we’ll see DJ taking more of those deep shots
“Their passing game, which is functional… mostly” until they play an Ed Donatell defense and they look unstoppable
Next game: *Jones throws for 300 yards and wins*
Just to have meaningful games after Halloween was a huge joy to me. To make the playoffs in the first year? Build Daboll"s statue now!
There is one phrase that always comes to my mind: Dutch legend Johan Cruyff once said about soccer that it's a simple game, but playing simple soccer is the most difficult thing in the world. It looks like it's often a limited number of simple, sound principles and basic ideas that gameplans, schemes, playbooks and coaching decisions seem to revolve around. But as Cruyff said, getting success on the field from these simple foundations is as complicated as it gets.
I think another key part of the Giant's success in the run game is how much of a freak Saquon is. The scheme is brilliant, but a lot of it hinges on Saquon being having the insane level of balance and speed needed to squeeze through small gaps in an extremely short amount of time without losing speed. With a lesser back, many of these runs get blown up before the back gets past the first level.
“ these are all NFL players “ yet all we’ve talked about the last few years is “ LOOK WHAT STEFON DIGGS HAS DONE FOR JOSH ALLEN “
Talent matters
i think DJ was pressured to not let turnovers take over the game. he’s getting more confident and slinging it at a way higher rate. i think this year was a big step. i hope we sign him to a short term deal and see if he can really air
it out year 2 in the system.
Pretty sure Daboll isn't calling the plays, Mike Kafka is. That's why he's seeing some HC interviews.
Hey Brett, great video as usual. Is there any chance you would make a "basics of football schemes" type series where you go over basic concepts like different running schemes (zone, gap), different route combinations (drive, smash), different coverages and blitzes, etc. and explain what types of coverages/fronts/personnel these are most useful against? Think that a standalone series like that, which does not necessarily tie into a specific team or thesis you have would be a great way to help people understand the game a bit better.
Thanks for the honest breakdown - coming from a long time Giants fan. I’ve seen some of those missed pass opportunities. I’m hopeful with a more consistent Oline pass blocking and better development, he will take the next step. I think goal this year was for high completion percentage and low TOs.
DJ watched your video and showed up in the playoffs against the Vikes. Thanks coach!
Saquon being healthy is always the key to this team. Jones has improved but it’s all started with Daboll what a turn around
Coming back to the comments from the future - and yup, you pretty much nailed it on the Giants in the playoffs. They looked unstoppable against the Vikings' historically bad defense and put up over 400 yards and 31 points on them in a win, and then ran into a buzzsaw in Philadelphia (a team that already beat them twice and had the personnel and the plan to match up with them).
As it was mentioned, Daboll and the GM put together a PHENOMENAL coaching staff. The best coaches in sports put together excellent coaching staffs focused on winning vs just hiring their buddies.
Really enjoyed this. I thought we’d be a 6 win team tops as Schoen dug us out from cap hell. Maximizing Jones despite injuries and general lack of talent has been great work by Daboll. Schoen identifying Bellinger and Hodgins has been huge. When losing Wandale felt like a potential death blow, you know that Jones has done a lot (7th in QBR, 5th in QB rushing yds, 1st in INT %) with very little.
Its less that Jones has done a lot than Daboll the HC identifying the actual strengths of the team and maximizing them. If anything the previous Giants play callers didn't know how to utilize DJs legs in the run game and how to work that into the pass game. Which is also beneficial because the O-line talent is good for run but isn't the best holding it down for the pass pro.
Eye opening. Good food for thought. Hopefully, it'll help me to understand decisions the Giants' front office makes in the off-season.
As a Giants fan I think this is a fair assessment. It's my one major concern about giving the keys to DJ. I have confidence that Schoen and Daballs have talked, and Daballs has expressed more than confidence in DJ. If he doesn't cut it loose next year, they can start the process to move off DJ. I believe Daballs will get the best out of him.
This Giants team reminds me of the 2005 Steelers, an all around decent team with the 6th seed that finds ways to win
Kollmann keeps saying Daboll dialed up certain plays, but the coach left the play-calling to Kafka.
I think what he means is that Daboll designed the playbook/structure. But Kafka is the guy calling stuff from that playbook as it pertains to the plan that HC Daboll wants to execute.
Hey Brett, I'm a big fan, and watch all your videos.
Non-American fan of football here and I just wanna say thank you for being so excellent at explaining things and doing what you do. No way on earth I would be a football fan without your analysis and showing more details about football.
You are one hell of a youtuber.
RIP Giants, Brett's kiss of death has come to you. You had a good season though so don't be too upset when you lose this week.
He is hoping for that bc he missed on his Jones opinion.
I’ve literally been waiting for you to do this ALL SEASON! You’ve no idea how badly I’ve needed the unbiased evidence based analysis in dealing with my own fellow fans.
You seem to be unaware of the Brett’s course. You’re going to wish he did this a couple weeks later!
Personally I don't bother with other fans at times. If they choose to 'consume' football with a fan hat/jersey/whatever sports media says then its on them. I long stopped doing that and I just watch games/situations and take well constructed opinions based on film from guys like Brett, QB school among others and enjoy their insights based on their respective football backgrounds.
Love your insights and analysis Brett. That was a very educational inside scoop on our offense. Now on DJ. I get what you are saying about his sometimes inability to throw downfield but EVERY QB in the NFL who drops back 25-40 times in a game is going to miss some throws. Yes I get the point that some seemed to be obvious and yes that is something he will need to improve.
But I have seen him pull the trigger in College and under Shurmur. There were a lot of bad habits and fear ingrained in the kid under Garrett. Almost had to unlearn bad habits while learning a brand new offense. Also the third new system he had to learn in 4 years. Couple that with a very mediocre receiver corps and a Line that was really bad in pass pro especially early on as they were all learning (and Neal as a rookie getting abused trying to run wider pass sets taught by Johnson their OL coach). I think in that context DJ has performed phenomenally.
I think as his confidence and comfort in the offense continues to grow coupled with better WRs added in the offseason, we will see more growth next year with #8 at the helm! Its going to come its really just part of the maturation process that was severely stunted due to some combination of bottom 5 pass pro, bottom 5-10 in the league quality of recievers, and/ or just horrible fitting offensive systems/coaching and most years it was 2 or 3 of all those not just 1.
I don't really buy the 'learning the system' deal as hard. Especially nowadays where the best offensive minds simplifies things on offense so the QB can make easier reads to get the ball to the play makers. Or in the case of DJ, to keep the ball himself and go run for yards to an opening. Ditto for young O-lines since they wouldn't be consistent for pass pro so DJ needed to get familiar with scenarios I wrote before. I think the bad habits that lingered was the lack of trust to his receivers due to not having that set foundation for a good play caller to attack defenses. With Daboll there is consistent purpose and clarity in forcing defenses to respect the run game. So once defenses commit more players to the line, DJ can go to the pass attack in various ways with screens, play actions or RPO gun stuff.
How are they adding receivers while digging out of cap hell and pizzaying Jones? I just don’t see a path forward that isn’t putting Jones on the non-exclusive tag and drafting a developmental guy
@@terranceramirez4816 Yeah that is one timing that seems difficult. Its easier to attach a proven veteran WR to a rookie QB prospect on a controlled reasonable cost than it is paying Daniel Jones his money THEN surrounding him with proven WR talent. At least with the former you aren't really committed to a QB so you can switch out within that time frame.
we love 2:30am uploads from brett my before bed watch
I think he lives in Texas so like 4:30 upload
Brett,
Your breakdown of DJ's failure to hit the deep ball when the WR is wide open is excellent. However, I would add that, having seen film from Eli's career, Eli had the same problem.
My dad actually went to highschool with Daboll, as well as Tom Telesco and Dave Caldwell (Chargers and former Jags GM respectively).
I saw the post on Twitter for the thumbnail, and that dudes suggestion was clutch. This thumbnail looks so much better for some reason.
Man, I really wanted Daboll or McDaniel to the Bears, but I'm glad that they are seeing all of the success that they are.
Brian is the master of his domain and should strike fear into the NFC East division for years to come
As a giants fan I agree with what you said abt dj b I don’t think you talked enough about if he can fix it. It’s clear danny is a completely different player than before, and I think he’s being conservative to adjust to his third offense in 4 years. He showed he can make those throws in his past, so hopefully with some film study and offensive improvement the dimes will come back
I had no idea it was this complicated. Brett does a great job of explaining things.
He did improve this year, not a terrible idea to give him a couple prove it years and see if he can make the next step
Great analysis of the X's and O's as always, especially in the first portion of the video. That being said, I feel like this video is major copium for Daniel Jones haters. Dude's playing well regardless of his apparent unwillingness to throw deep. We all know he can throw deep balls, they have always been one of his strengths, (check the scouting report and highlights from earlier games/seasons). It really seems like he's being coached to not take risks if he can get a 1st down and/or successful play another way. Who can blame them its working, best TD to INT ratio in the league. Plus he showed poise yesterday in his first postseason start (intangible quality) and put up a record-setting box score. He's actually kinda good, and the Giants should resign him for 2-4 more years.
Mike Kafka needs some respect as well Brett, he’s the play caller. It’s Daboll’s offense, but Kafka calls the game.
Yeah, surprised he kept mentioning Daboll as the play-caller when Daboll explicitly said he doesn't call plays
Somewhat honest mistake. Daboll did come from a play calling background (OC for the Bills) so the assumption without gleaning into much info is that he continues the same task as HC of the Giants. Part of what I think has made Daboll adjust being the HC was not having that added pressure of dialing up plays on the sidelines (could be argued those play callers do it better at the booth watching the game from their angle). So he can focus on HC related stuff like clock/time out management as well with adjustments.
Greatly appreciate the “missed opportunities “ piece of dj. I’ve seen it too and I think it is not talked about enough. Maybe next season he takes more shots, but the point is not lost on me. Sometimes you have to make big plays.
Just a small correction though: Kafka deserves some credit. He is the playcaller, not Daboll. Still amazing work by both though.
Great video! After watching the analysis of Jones under Daboll, I'm keen to see a video comparing how different young QBs have improved under new coaching after previously struggling e.g., Lawrence, Tagovailoa, Jones etc. Keep up the great work!
Imo daboll made a point of giving DJ easier throws to make, and wanted to keep him on a bit of a leash. Im very confident that next year he’ll take those deep shots because he can absolutely make the throws
The Giants were 31st in pass block win rate and the Giants WRs were top 5 in drop percentage but sure, better blame Danny Dimes.
As a Giants fan I just wanted improvement, this is way more than I honestly expected
I have nothing but respect for how in depth Brett explains this stuff. Man has it down to a science.
Reminds me of the 2018 Bears offense. DJ has a lot of the intangibles (and likeability) of mitch Trubisky.
Giants fan here. Thanks for making this video. THAT'S MY COACH!!!!! #GIANTSPRIDE WE ARE DOING IT #OURWAY
Danny should’ve known Bellinger was going to fumble after that big completion and that he needed to hit Slayton (who never drops the ball) the play before. damn you, Danny!
slayton wide open drop 😂
Daboll should be coach of the year, no doubt
As a former Left Tackle, I appreciate your analysis and explanation for people that have no clue about blocking and just think it's big dudes headbutting each other for funsies.
Watching the giants play football is like watching a snake hunt a mouse, the giants just die slowly
Bobby Johnson @BrettKollmann, is the offensive line coach is primary guy who designs the run offense for the Giants and deserves the credit. Daboll himself consistently gives him credit for this & in fact when both their QB’s got hurt vs the Bears he cooked up a little wild cat scheme on the spot.
Brett would never give DJ the props he deserves.
Guy hates so hard he could solve world hunger with all that energy into something positive
THANK YOU BRETT! Now I know for sure that my Vikings are moving on!
This aged poorly...
@@dominickangelo4319 welp...
As a high school Wing-T coach, it is TH-cam candy to see someone so thoroughly and eloquently break down elaborate run concepts.
But to simplify how you're describing the Giants' run game down to a bite size description, it's "Ways, not plays". They clearly have a system that contains answers for adapting to various fronts. They don't just run Power. They run many versions of Power, each being a kryptonite for a particular look.
Exactly!!!
All of us Vikings fans thank you for your timely curse to guarentee our victory tomorrow.
Jones looked PHENOMENAL yesterday…
Jones has always showed flashes of Greta QB play but where he became consistent this year is his accuracy, pocket presence, and throwing on the run. You could tell the game is slowing down and things are really clicking for him. Next year will be his true breakout season.
Life long Giants fanatic here. Really loved the video, great job! I don't think you've said anything wrong about DJ, however, you were forced to make something of a prediction and/or assumption and that part MIGHT be wrong. You accurately point out that he isn't pulling the trigger on big throws that represent open touchdowns, that's indisputable, but the reason why is. If he just can't make those throws, your rights, the Giants wont win a Superbowl with him. BUT, if he's not attempting those throws because he's still unraveling his mind from three straight years of dysfunction and different offensive systems, and that eventually he will start pulling the triggers on those throws, and making those throws, then he's a top 10 franchise QB. We has Giants fans have to hope for the latter, but be prepared that it might be the former. He'll be back next year, and then we'll truly find out. Josh Allen didn't really ascend until year 3 withing Daboll's system.
So, I'm watching this at the end of March after Daniel Jones just signed his massive contract. Thanks Brett, I now feel even less confident that is will work out. I mean, my god, I knew that they paid him way above his value but dear god, I think we might be settling for mediocracy. God help the giants.
i been saying this about Daniel Jones he doesn't push the ball down the field. The strange thing is in his first year he did throw the ball downfield but when he got with Jason Garrett he just stop throwing the ball downfield, i don't know what Garrett advised him to do but he went from aggressive to being conservative. Ill wait till year two before I make an observation on Jones.
As a Giants fan I loved this video. Non bias a true assessment
Great video at seeing the nuts and bolts of that run offense. Conceptually its sound and is adaptable to get results even when they go 12 personnel. In terms of the passing I was jazzed at DJ's performance in the wild card game but you pose a very interesting question his future with the Giants. Especially when it comes down to investing at the receiver position. Consequently if they run it back and pay big money to those core guys, there is a threat of regression (which is a normal thing). And I dunno about going back into the draft that way with big money committed to talent that isn't putting a team over. I'll just buy in that Daboll/Schoen were indeed given the grace period this season and they are entitled to their free rebuild/retool the coming offseason.
He probably won’t get it this year but he should get COTY. The fact Daboll did this well his first year as a HC is astounding. His play-calling is really really impressive.
he doesn't call plays. like he called 0 plays this season lmaooo. nice try tho
@@timothykurtz8061 probably made the playbook though
most frustrating part about this video was the clear lack of credit to mike kafka who calls the plays.
Giants fan here, watching after the Minn game. Totally fair take. Also, loved the schematic run breakdown
I love DJ as the giants QB but I agree this guy needs to start throwing deep!
At this point i dont even care that jones isnt trying to push the ball down the feild for 2 reasons one that creates way more sacks because outside of thomas they arent good witch also creates unnecessary fumbles.. and 2 haveing the short passes has helped them in the redzone alot.
Brett, as a giants fan, I’ve never experienced more of a turnaround from 3rd and 9 QB sneak to a wildcard berth
Enjoyed the video up until the very end when he said "I'm going to put a curse on the Chicago Bears rebuild next week". We finally got our luck to turn Brett we don't need the Kollman Curse right now 🤣
Absolutely fair and honest assessment of where the Giants are. Great work Brett!
Love your content man! Would you do something on the ATL Falcons please
11:46 thats the greatest explanation for some weird run mixtures ive ever heard 😂😂
What a STARK contrast in play design/philosophy and game management YoY for the Giants, Schoen and Daboll really dug in and I'm super excited to see what they do during this coming offseason.

Daboll deserves credit but “ Mike Kafka” is calling the plays. He’s been requested for a few HC interviews already.
Jones & Saquon are both the Giants offensive MVPs. Saquon in the 1st half of the season & Jones in the 2nd half of the season. Anyone who watched the Giants all season will tell you that's the objective truth. Saquon hasn't had a 100 game since week 10. And in the wildcard win Jones again was their catalyst on offense. Easily.
You also spent a good portion of the video talking about the Giants rushing attack but no mention of Jones having 700+ rushing yards & 7 TDs.
your channel is epic bro, you always give deep analysis on plays and give the explanation on why a team is good or bad. great video.
It's actually kind of impressive at this point how unwilling Brett is to give Daniel Jones any credit lol. Doing a 12 minute segment on the Giants run game as a whole and literally not mentioning Jones and his running once is pretty remarkable.
It's nothing unusual. Jones gets a remarkable amount of hate from people for no reason. It's kind of amazing.
I work overnight and you uploaded this right as my lunch started lmao
Giants fan here, gotta say, you are spot on about Jones, and it hurts my heart to see it laid out so plainly. He NEEDS to throw the ball deep. What you laid out here is the difference between 9-8 Giants, and 13-4 Giants. I feel like its time for us to explore other options. Either we get someone who will throw deep, or it gives Jones a sense of urgency to throw to wide open receivers.
move on from jones? did it ever occur to any of you that he doesn't "throw the ball deep" because of the quality of receivers. Schoen has publically verbalized the "weakness" of the receivers. and need to give DJ "more weapons"It seems they are scheming the plays around the receivers ability to create space. The confidence will grow in both the coach to call the plays and DJ to throw the deep ball, when they are more confident in their receivers. DJ is the long term answer and he is getting 3-4 year deal soon. Sorry if this doesnt sit well with you not, but trust me it will soon. He wins us the game tomorrow. In no way will he play like Lawerence just did. Lawrence threw almost as many ints in this game that DJ did all year. In Daniel jones we trust
Brain daballs may go down as the greatest coach to ever live. What a hire
"None of the Giants lineman are amazing, apart from Andrew Thomas."
The disrespect for Nick Gates will not go unnoticed.
I think DJ not throwing the ball deep is lack of confidence. He been in the league for 4 years and just now does he have a coach that knows how to utilize him.
I feel like this year is laying the foundation and to boost his confidence. We will see how it adds to next season which I feel will he would be much improved!
PS… from a 49ers fan 😉
Like you are not wrong at all, Jones' pathological conservatism is extremely frustrating. He's taken a massive step forward mentally this season, feeling the pocket better, not gunslinging nearly as much as he did his rookie year and the year after. On top of that, he says he's having the most fun he's had in a long time. The problem is us Giants fans WANT him to succeed, just like you Brett. We want the guy that we all doubted to prove us wrong in the big apple, in front of the whole country's eyes. We know it's unlikely, but we've convinced ourselves that it's possible. So here's to hoping that Jones can make that next mental big step going into 2023 and pull that metaphorical trigger to push the ball down the field. 🍻
Easily the top COTY candidate. Crushed it this season
Well what Daniel Jones did against the Vikings in the Wild Card was absolutely in elite performance! This year, they already did enough to be a top 3 favorite Giants team I experienced as a fan since 2002. Next season though, yes my standards are higher. This year, just making the playoffs is good enough and anything more is bonus.
What about the "elite" performance DJ had against Philadelphia.
@@Rroy20 I'm not talking about that dumb dumb.
The Giants passing game is set up for Justin Herbert in the chargers. Passing game is set up for Daniel Jones. What a shame
This!!! I’m tired of watching Lombardi waste Herbert by throwing check downs. Hopefull for a OC that can utilize Herbert to his full potential
so... released 2 years into a horrible contract and statistically one of the worst QBs in the league STILL playing in a offense designed to hold his hand somewhat. Meanwhile Saquon is carrying the Iggles to the postseason.
Fire the Giants front office into the Sun. Giants fans, listen to everything Kollmann says after 19:55. Let those words sink into your soul and realize they were written almost 2 years ago. We know the answer now, don't we?
As someone who watched every giants game this season I wasn’t sure what it was that wasn’t having us take “the next step” because everything was solid except Danny’s numbers. I couldn’t figure it out so this video explained exactly what it was we were missing. As much as I do think Jones has significantly improved (he was 2nd for least amount of turnovers this season) I felt something still was off and now it makes sense. If this is something Daboll notices for next season and works diligently to improve upon, people should be scared to play the giants
Maybe Daboll knows DJ may not be their guy. Him and GM Schoen may approach the team roster this coming offseason by getting to pick THEIR core guys. Because Daboll didn't just simplify the run game, he made it also simple for DJ to read the match ups on passing routes and make a decision on it. If he's not letting it rip, Daboll may be after another guy with legs who can.
