I rather like that the "afrayed" label is frayed around the edges. It emphasizes the clever name.
Haha thank you!
Everything you do is fun to watch. Don’t stress over your ideas, be free to do your gift. Critics are a dime a dozen (that means they’re everywhere) just be confident that God gave you awesome gifts and talents and we love seeing you bloom!
Thank you so much!🥹💜
Love your updates. That ribbon & applique needle idea was brilliant to compliment the sewing machine. I bet your Mom's friend will love it too.
Thank you! Yes, you’ve reminded me to send a picture to her!!
The jumper is adorable! Love your upcycling.😊
Your patchwork jumpsuit will constantly evolve. In 10 years time just imagine what materials you'll have added to it, and how different it'll look from now! Love your jumper and how it's turned out. It looks adorable and the outfit as a whole is just perfect 🤗xx
That’s the dream!🙌 a jumpsuit full of memories! Love it!🥹
It turned out cute, I'm sure your auntie would rather have you add to it and wearing the jumper than just leaving it unloved in a drawer. ❤
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I found your honesty about the front fly hilarious- no details needed as to what your "reservations" are about it. Thanks, I needed a laugh today. :) Your upcycling and renewing of the jumpsuit and top look brilliant. Thanks for sharing.
Haha happy to make you laugh!😂🙌
I love how everything turned out. This is so cool to see other artists creative process, it's always a work in progress
Thank you so much!!
Loved how the jumpsuit is a living history document
It really is!🥹
Dear Scarlett, really Love your upcycles and I'm happy that those pieces will be worn again 😊 The jumper is cute and the added bird is great. Maybe you can add further scraps and fabrics to this while mending this piece of your history 😉 The sweater was really beautiful from beginning on - thecsewing machine is adorable! You transformed it to fit your style and I really love how the ribbon and sewing needle suit the sewing machine. At the beginning I really thought you would go with new puffy sleeves from the curtain. Maybe an option for the next sweater 😁 xoxo from Germany Stephanie
I did think about the puffy sleeves, but wasn’t too sure if it was my style or not!😂🙈
I love watching your upcycling videos. You give me so much inspiration. I am from the US and there was someone from another country who was watching your videos. I was excited to see someone else that watches your channel. Thank you!
Oh this is so sweet thank you!🥹💜
The sweater top is so your style now and the needle and thread design was inspired.
Oh thank you!💜
Sachiko stitches on boro patches sounds like a great idea to try.
The jumpsuit is fab, love the sewing machine sweatshirt. Sashiko is the embroidery technique, not boro. Boro means rag, it is not embroidery but rather the used worn fabric/garments that may have been stitched with sashiko. All good, all lovely, I'm just a nerd about using the right terms and have been doing a lot of sashiko myself lately. Love your patterns but it is always cool to see what people make for themselves vs what they make to sell.
Ahh thanks for the information!!🌸💜
So fun to see your first upcycled garment - what lovely memories in the fabrics and now it looks even better ~ i love boro 💙
The top looks more your style now ❤
I always enjoy your videos and seeing what you're working on ~ you're so inspiring ❤❤❤
Aww that’s do kind, thank you so much!🥹 I love Boro stitiching, it’s very therapeutic to do too!
Love both Scarlet❤ ive seen a sweater here in NZ with both sleeves done simarly with eyelets and you can change the ribbon colour when you want❤ loved the collar❤ im saving up to buy some of your pieces❤
So happy for you that you took some time for yourself and upcycled a few of your projects that have been set to the side! Marvelous work!
Thank you so much! Ever since going full time with sewing, I often forget about myself 😂😅
Thanks for doing the kind of thing that we can learn from! Your skills are better than mine but i can try to do the kind of things you do.
I like that you're wearing bib overalls. I just got some at a garage sale. Then i cut up an embroidered shirt that my grandparents gave me from a trip to Turkey 50 years ago or so. They are long gone and I'm glad i still have the shirt. So i cut out birds and designs from the shirt and sewed them onto the overalls. One bigger piece on the bib, one on the left thigh and one on the right hem. They're bright and cheerful but i wasn't sure if a 64 year old woman should be wearing these overalls like i did as a teenager. But why not!? They're cute and i like them.
Absolutely why not?! Fashion has no age!!🌸🙌✨
Great job! love your ideas. Kathy from Cali.😎
LOVE the wardrobe updates! ❤
I love birds too
Scarlet what a stunning idea for your tracksuit top. Love it. Cute bird on your outfit and hand stitches
Thank you so much!🙌

Love what you did with your sweatshirt scarlet , pretty cool , and the birds on your jumpsuit look great too , thanx for keeping me inspired x.
Thank you so much! And happy you enjoyed the video!
Ooooh, I just love love love your jumper. Right up my street,! Loved the vlog ❤❤❤
Yay! Thank you!🌸💜
That sweatshirt would look neat with an asymmetric v neck cut into it, reattach the lace afterwards.
Ooo thanks for the suggestion!
Love the jumper 😊
Beautiful lace you pulled out for the jumper. The whole jumper looks terrific. I love how you used the japanese stitching to mend your hole in pants. And you can't see it. What a great outfit with great results.
Thank you!! Just have to be careful putting it on to not pull the ribbon out 😂 but love it either way!🙌💜
Im excited to hear that you are going to pick up crochet. i have crocheted for years. i think you will really enjoy it. Love your content.
I turned crochet away for years…but now I’m looking up how to make mini crochet earrings!😂🙈
Loving the jumper it reminds me of ones I loved as a child that I'd forgotten about
Aww amazing! I love that it’s got a child-like vibe about it!😂🙌
@afrayed_upcycling oh didn't mean it in a childish way just the joyful way definitely something I want to add back onto my own wardrobe
@@sueburton6920 haha I promise I didn’t take your comment that way! 💜 when I finished it, I thought it looked similar to something I would have had as a child - I love that I can make clothes like that!🥹
I love both. You are so artistic. I love that stitch up the side arm.❤
Hehe thank you!!💜💜
So cute, I love your recycling videos!!! ❤❤Judy❤❤

Are those small Japanese sewing stitches called Sashiko embroidery? One of the podcasts I watch from Sweden has taken some lessons in that and yours looks like it. You saved that sweatshirt and made it your own!!!
