So I just bought a feelfree lure 13.5 with the pedal drive and the motor kit. It was a full package that my local shop was selling. I’ve tried the pedals out a bit and I’m not really comfortable with the pedal motion( sort of a strange way to pedal circular motion). I have the motor for it just waiting on the battery to come in. This is a pretty sweet upgrade idea that I may do. Do you like this style over the rear mount or the motor style that feelfree makes. Thanks man.
That sounds awesome! The pod setup has its pros and cons. I love the placement of the motor in the pod as it's super easy to get to. It does get noisy if the pod is hollow but I used to put sponges or some type of sound dampening in the pod. If you want to use the pod for a transducer then of course that's a no go. The rear mounted motor using the universal rudder from Bixpy definitely gives the most control and response. If you fish any rivers the rear mount is the better option as well. I've gravitated more to the rear mount nowadays. Good luck with your motor setup and tight lines 🎣
Sorry for the delay. It is 8 3/4" long and the mounting blocks are only 5" wide. The Lure 10 required an extra mounting plate on the bottom but the other Lure models only require one.
Really like your vids. I have a lure 13.5 and am contemplating the bixpy. Do you prefer the pod mount or the rudder mount? Thanks for all the info! Keep ‘em coming!
I appreciate it. I really prefer the pod mount since it is so incredibly simple. The only time I prefer the rudder or the pole mount is when I'm in shallower rivers. 85% of the time it's the POD mount for me.
So happy to have found your channel. TH-cam is kinda hiding you guys. Could you please show an stern mount for an lure 11.5 v2 from yak gadget. I'm in the market for a motor and I would like to keep my fish finder in the pod if possible.
I actually have several videos that go over the YakGadget mount for the stern of the Lure 11.5 and it will fit the V2 as well. The plate that I have is a custom plate though, but the process is the same. th-cam.com/video/_9b0VDXzuNQ/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/ejXwPrgMsXg/w-d-xo.html This is the same mount on the Moken 12.5 and it will fit the rest of the Lure series kayaks: th-cam.com/video/mcxdUiBZ13g/w-d-xo.html
