      Most people with EDS have some level of Jewish heritage

      @@GameChanger597 we have no Jewish heritage in our blood - at least not according to my DNA. ;)

    I was recently diagnosed with EDS, & POTS runs in my family; it’s taken many years to reach proper diagnosis. (Other indicator used in evaluation was overcrowding of teeth, or very high palate, low BP/fainting.) I’ve been plagued with lifelong joint sprains , & strains, leading to impingement & chronic pain; mainly of ankles, shoulders, & thumbs. I wish I could have known about the diagnosis in my childhood or young adulthood.

    Zero 😂-Which is why I am working daily on mobility/yoga these days-Thank you for all of your videos!

      You're welcome Tabetha! Its worth noting that zero is absolutely fine! The tests are more for those who might be thinking they are more flexible and trend towards being dysfunctional without good muscle control and strength!

    I got eight out of nine. The only reason I couldn't do the behind down one is because I've got soliosis so I can't really been down that far

    What If you can touch your thumb to your forearm, but only after warming up and forcing it really hard? Does that count as hyper mobile, or should it be easily to touch more passively?

    • @YourWellnessNerd
      @YourWellnessNerd  ปีที่แล้ว

      Generally we'd expect someone who's hypermobile to be able to do these immediately without a warm up!

    I have hyper mobility i got diagnosed 5 years ago. I went to see the doctor because of my hip pain and turns out i have hyper mobility and my legs tend to turn in randomly where they meet my other joins. Today i have tibial posterior I don’t know what caused it i have been mindful of keeping my range of motion at the normal people degree at the gym when lifting. I did ballet for 8 years but i think it’s due to genetics.

      As i mentioned in the video I find a focus on strength and control through the available range can often help the function of hypermobile joints. Hope things go well for you AB!

    I only failed the last one but since childhood, since childhood I was never able to touch my toes. If I have hyper mobility why am I so stiff or not flexible? Can I be much more flexible in the upper part of my body and not the legs?

    • @gsjgdkgdhksg
      @gsjgdkgdhksg ปีที่แล้ว

      You can be more flexible if you stretch daily. But I don't know why your body is stiff bcuz I'm not an expert yk. So I hope someone else answers your question

    • @sludge164
      @sludge164 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      its slightly flawed, if you have very long legs and short arms for instance you won't be able to do it. I can do it despite having no flexibility because I have very long arms and short legs.

    Got a 9 I have had some knee and back pain but I developed some muscle to act like a reinforcement to my joints soo now I have good core stability and I can stand for more than 12h without pain I can walk up to 30 km in 5h without pain my bones are thick soo I don't have stress fractures but it means that I am heavier than I look I look like a 70kg but I am 110kg but it doesn't limit my mobility I used to do bike stunts and rock climbing but I injured my elbow soo I stick to powerlifting now

    I got 2 but what is Rong with my middle finger
    I looked up on TH-cam why is my middle finger weard and this is what showed up im confused now is my middle finger normal or not my family for the most part can do it to but my friends can't do it i think when i show that to someone they get confused and can't do it. My grandma can do it my dad and sister can do it to i think. Or i could just be a moron and be over thinking this or my middle finger is broken. I don't think it's broken i can move it. My middle finger is not broken. Is this normal or not normal. I don't know is my hand just flexible. I don't know. Im repeating myself i should stop repeating myself. Ok a my middle finger can bend in wearied i forgot the word. Uhhh auto correct is weird i don't like auto correct. But i can't spell it's supposed to make it better but it just makes it worse. I sound like a cavemen already but the auto correct just has to make it worse. Whey was i righting about auto correct. Ok am i repting myself i don't know why am i commiting this i shudent even be on this platform why am i here. where i am it's 5 in the morning i can't go to bed I'm watching one piece why is it so long im on season 2 episode 2. One piece is a good show i think it is. But the packing of the show is horrible and takes to long just for nothing to happen and the show isn't even done yet there is over 1000 episodes i think. But at least it's not going to run out of content any time soon unless the show gets cancelled and I don't know about it or something but I personally give the show a 8 or 7 out of 10. I like the show idk but im tired. I'm going to eat some chicken tenders from a day ago and I'm going to put it in the microwave. I like chicken tenders it's my favorite food. Busieds ketchup i love ketchup a lot it's also one of my favorite drinks. This thuck my half an hour to right. Why did I right this paragraph about my middle finger one piece and chicken tenders and ketchup. I have to much time on my hands. It's 6 now at the time of me righting this. Im a tire.

      Being hyper mobile doesn’t have to be an issue. But it may mean that people who are hyper mobile need to have that little bit of a greater focus on the quality of their postures and shapes and also to make sure they maintain good strength and control to help support and stabilise any extra joints laxity (looseness).

    Who would i talk to about this? Like do i just talk to my family doctors

    • @YourWellnessNerd
      @YourWellnessNerd  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Family doctor might help depending on what your goals might be. An exercise physiologist a personal trainer or a physiotherapist might also help if you’re looking to cultivate some exercises to help improve your general muscular strengthen and stability.

    I got a 5 and wouldn't consider myself hypermobile. [My body cheated with the palms on floor because my arms are long, lol.]
    SideNote: I'm a Yoga Instructor noticing that hypermobile people come into yoga thinking hypermobility is the point (it's not; it's a balance). My consistent cues are always to keep microbends in elbows when coming up from a sleeping pigeon for example (muscle activation) as well as activating back legs in warriors 1 & 2 for example to prevent the joints (knees in this case) from taking the load due to gravity. The body loves the path of least resistance which will lead to damage over time if in constant repetition of movements/poses/asanas that aren't safely implemented.

    • @YourWellnessNerd
      @YourWellnessNerd  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I got a 1 so you have me covered! For me the key is aiming for strength and control through full available range. Theres no point being super bendy if you cant control it safely.
