I mean, he's not really a dragon... He's just a fire breathing lizard. His name also literally says "Lizard-Man" if you check it in the gear menu. It's also the weakest form to use, only good thing about it is that you get to crouch to avoid damage and shoot a projectile from both standing and crouched positions to hit enemies from a distance. But speaking overall, Lizard-Man is a safer character to play, provided you always make good space between yourself and your enemies and don't take damage often.
The original game was incredibly tuff for me back in the 90’s I was young and didn’t really understand about HP ATK DEF. It was only till later on when I came back to this game that I understood and started actually buying weapons and armor that the game become more balanced for me.
Why is the easy choice just as difficult as normal? This game is so hard and frustrating but, hopefully, this walkthrough will help me. Thank you so much for providing this!

It's funny you say that because in my opinion, the music is honestly the weakest part of this whole remake. Not because it's bad music, mind you - just because it just feels so ill-fitting compared to my memories of the original game from my youth. The original game's soundtrack was designed specifically with the Master System's soundboard in mind so it seemed to have more of a confrontational, 'fighting' vibe to it. This version sounds far too laid-back, it almost makes me a little tired and sleepy at times.
Glad I could help! it does have some pretty tricky parts in it, I think my first playthrough I was stumped for a decent bit when trying to figure out how to get through the lava to get the mouse form (im pretty sure its the mouse form, lol its been a while)

@@BreakTimeGaming I think you missed a hidden door in the Old Castle; its at the far right in the brick tube that you come out of; or you can just skip the main entrance and go to the right to find it. Push up when in it and a door opens with a sword or shield for sale in the shop.

Funny thing I noticed. None of the dragons are what we would technically consider to be alive. A robot, a mummy, a zombie, a pirate ghost, a samurai (well technically alive but only exists to follow the hagakure) and a vampire.
I just deleted the game, and that was because I got stuck in the underground. I've been months at this stage with mouse man trying to win desperately but nothing helps, I thought of going back to the earlier stages to take advantage of the resources in it but nonetheless the stage It was intractable, and I think I had the right to that because I spent months in one environment with the same enemies without changing, so I made a decision that I gave up on the game, but I said let me search for the gameplay of the game, so I might know how to cross this impossible stage, and then I found your wonderful clip I did not know, frankly, about the secret doors that give you other characters to help you win. I wronged the developers of the game and thought that they designed the stage in an impossible way, but it seems that the game is with the mouse man character only, even the designers of the stage are not able to do it, in the end I would like to say that it is the game It was very beautiful, with a beautiful fighting style and movement, but a little difficult. What I love the most about the game is the design of the stages and the diversity in its environments, the beautiful graphics, as well as the music that cannot be expressed in words. It’s definitely a hard game, but then again it is a remake from the original so they hard to make games harder for them to appear to be longer games than they were.
I gave up after getting to the area around 1:25:04 those one block platforms are impossible for me to jump and stick onto, i keep skittering off of the ledge

As it turns out I was not supposed to enter the Underground as Mouse-Man And did not have to spend 30mins dying there And did not have to pile up so many failed attempts that I got Crystal Shield with the Coins I earned in the meantime Whoops

If im not mistaken I think this is a remake of one of the Monster Boy games, theres even a button you can hit to toggle remake's graphics and the old graphics.
Monster Boy is the sequel to Monster World IV, while this is a remake of Monster World II aka Wonder Boy 3. The naming of the games in the west is kind of confusing.
Why in 30:00 minute you dont get injured by the heads that throw fire? It because the shield? The trick in the first chapter to get enoguh money is awesome.

The easiest way to farm for gold and ammo is to go back to the chests that have a lot of money in them after reloading your save. Their content is restored so you can keep going to them. The ones in the sphinx (west of the pyramid) and in the intro castle are the best options.
I honestly can’t remember. I played the game back in the day and then played through it again and hunted down everything and stuff was just like “oh I remember this is here). Lol wish it was a better answer than that.

Is there any point in getting the Gallic Sword when you can access Hu-Man/Girl? You only get that form after you've already beaten the game and ostensibly having done everything else in the game. Other than 100% completion, it seems a little pointless. Haha!

okay it wasn't just me this game is HARD, I got brick walled at around Chapter 3 the difficulty spike hit me HARD when I first played this when the Switch launched Geez!
