- In this Walkthrough I'll complete the game on the highest difficulty (Extreme). I'll also collect every piece of gear and all the Charm Stones.
You can't have more than one Heart Container on Extreme mode and every level has a timer that constantly makes you lose health.
I know I'm super late.. but I just got this game lol I didn't even know about it.. but I use to play this with my mom on our Sega master system (we'd take turns) and I loved the music and animals.. flash forward 30 years and I see the soundtrack for this game by chance on youtube and literally cried.. couldn't believe how well done it was, made me buy the game! I enjoyed watching this video.. as ill probably never attempt the extreme mode haha.. so I'll just live vicariously through you :)

I remember this game being hard enough playing it in its original form...and then they lock you down to 1 heart container in Extreme, which is bad enough...then THEY PUT THE FUCKING TIMER IN? Good god. That's insane, and you're nuts for getting through that. GG, well played!

Found this in 2023, never knew there was a remake version for this game.
I played the original version in childhood, gotta try this version one day.
Awesome, better than most modern movies.. 😀 I've learned a lot of new tricks but the one thing I still can't get is the Mouse man charm stone, bloody thing still eludes me... Congratulations..

Im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen Spielen, die heut zu Tage so als remake angepriesen werden, is das hier schon nen echtes Vorzeigebild geworden... Nen remake soll ja schließlich so viel wie möglich von dem Original übernehmen.
Das is hier voll gelungen, man fühlt sich echt in die Zeit von damals zurückversetzt, halt nur mit besserer Grafik und nem angepassten Sound... :))

You can equip the Gallic Sword before opening the chest in the Old Castle to get some of every magic item. Fairly fast way to grind up Thunder Magic.

Are the heart chests just empty in this mode?

It's interesting that the devs decided that the drawn graphics would be a 1:1 overlay of the Master System original game.

Thanks! Actually, not many hours. The game is pretty short and memorizing all the levels takes short time :)
How do you get “Extreme mode” the difficulty options when I play the are “easy, normal and hard”.

Yeah,i know,if even hard mode was a child's play,then the extreme is a real nightmare :no heart container,only stuck with only a heart,and with that annoying time limit hourglass that drain your health.play this game at this level at your risks and leisures If you guys want to play for real and put a end in the playtime!get ready!good Lucky!
Wait, i now realise there is a extreme mode? Is the extreme mode even harder than hard mode or is this just some kind of additional handicap for any difficulty?
Yeah, the Extreme Mode is much harder than the Hard Mode because after the first Boss you will be stuck at only one heart container, from start to finish.
Also, there's a timer next to the heart container which deals a quarter of damage to you every 30 seconds.

Great Run! But I have 1 question: how to unlock/get extreme mode on switch?
Create a new save and when you select the difficulty, press the button X for a few seconds and it will be unlocked 🔓

I think you have to clear the game on Hard first.
