Sometime we’re so into this hobby that we forget about reefing basics. 1 - your stockings do not produce enough nutrients for chaeto to grow. Just bc you put chaeto and light together , it needs nutrients ( nitrates and phosphates ) to grow. 2 - not only you’re not exporting or extremely little amount , that roller mat is catching every single bits of it. Therefore no nutrients for the chaeto to grow. 3 - your skimmer, I’m not sure how long you have it running thru out the day but it’s also sucking up waste / nutrients Bottom line is limit the amount of hours on the skimmer. Replace the roller mat with socks or filter floss. Add lastly add more stockings into your tank. It will be a combinations of these things. Happy reefing !
Lol, you don't have any where near enough waste in that tank to support a large chaeto reactor like that, this is why all you can grow is slime algae in there and is compounded by the excess fertiliser you are pouring in for the chaeto that is not growing.
@@sefonaup I would suggest a small micro reactor like aquamedic multireactors and put some DVH Aquatics bio pellets in there (the brown pellets). It will take about 6 weeks and should pull your Phosphates into alignment with your Nitrates. Then have a look at what you are feedign the tank, it sounds like one of your food sources is full of phosphate. In the short term you can also use the same small reactor (so buy 2) for some nano-tech phosphate remover by maxspec to remove the bulk of it at a steady rate initially.
@@quadlawnmowerman thank you so much for taking your time and writing Nice information I really appreciate it I will try what you suggest thank you so much. God bless you and have a nice weekend. 🙏🙏🙏
When I saw you open the Reefmat 500 I didn’t think it wouldn’t fit, you should have got the 250 Most of that equipment is over kill for the size of the tank No wonder your struggling for space 😂 I’m quite surprised with the cost of all the equipment you didn’t get a quality titanium heater 🫢 Great tank tho I’ve ordered one with all the kit 👍
Thank you so much for your wonderful comments. I appreciate it and yes, you are correct. Hundred percent these equipment. It is too big for this tank, I did not have any option to pick or choose during that time when I purchase the tank all came as a kit I am thinking about to get the Red Sea reef mat 250 And also maybe get the titanium heater Thank you very much god bless you 🙏🙏🙏
Hello, I see that you battle with the algae reactor, I have the paxbellium, it is the same but the algae does not grow as fast if you do not have high levels. If you have low phosphorus levels, it will not grow so you can keep it slow growing, it will grow if you have corals and many fish greetings
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment. Appreciate it the reason because everything came with the tank as a kit and I’m trying to keep the parameter stable
The number of items in your tank are minimal, and you seem to be complicating things, imho. Just keep the skimmer and do water changes .Maybe add more live rock.Dont use dry rock .Happy reefing .

And I do appreciate it your wonderful comment thank you very

why so much filtration ?You dont need a reef mat and a skimmer and a reactor. The skimmer would probably be over kill on its own .

Just had the DC skimmer and return pump fail after a couple of days. This new kit is utter junk
I’m not too happy about the equipment too. Try to get the replacements
Good luck
