Hello Dennis, yes lucy draws you in you can not take your eyes of her when she sings , her voice her tone her richness is like nobody else, she is just so amazing, she has just got back from a concert in Tokyo to a full house, where she sang 20 songs one of them was in Japanese , the Japenese audience just loved her they gave her a 3 minute standing ovation. Take care Dennis & thank you for another great reaction. take care, Barbara.

Hi Dennis Great reaction as always this song is from Les Mis. It depicts the dreams of and eventual dissapointments of Fantine. Lucy sings this beautifully with such empathy she is just an incredible artist and gets better with every song she sings. Her concert in Tokyo was sold out she received a 3min standing ovation.and from what I hear there wasn't a dry eye in the building.I will be at her next concert in London and can´t wait .Good luck with the new job.and thanks for continuing to support Lucy.

Lucy’s emotional delivery is forever developing and you can see that she is living the lyrics. I also like the way her more recent videos give a wider angle allowing us to see her arm movement to support the emotions. I know many people live for the big notes and the big finish but the first verse is captivating as a result of her soft, yet powerful, delivery. ❤

Hi Dennis...Thank you for supporting the incomparable Lucy Thomas. This performance is superb in every way. Lucy is establishing herself as one of the top vocalists of this generation. There are not enough superlatives to describe how wonderful and talented Lucy is. She is a legend in the making.

Dennis, thank you for this excellent reaction to a masterpiece by Lucy. When I heard her sing this song, I was in tears. When my wife told me the story behind it, I shed more tears. Fantine meets a young sailor one summer and gets pregnant. She loses her factory job because she was pregnant out of wedlock. A couple keeps her baby and tells her that the baby is ill just to extort more money from her. Fantine resorts to prostitution, sells her hair, and sells her teeth to support her daughter. She sings this song as she is dying of starvation. Other singers have terribly over dramatized the song or belted most of it. Lucy has an intimate rendition that evokes sadness and disappointment. Should she ever sing this on stage, I cannot imagine a dry eye in the theatre.
Listen to Anne Hathaway sing the song in the movie version (way to dramatic) or Ruthie Henshall belt it in the Royal Albert Hall then listen to Lucy. Which one brings tears to your eyes? Only Lucy makes me well up with tears. Lucy is simply phenomenal!

She sang this on stage in Manchester and Lucy was even better live. She's definitely the real deal.

@@AlanIngerson You are so fortunate to have been there to hear her in person! I hope to hear her in person 22 October 2024 in London. Will be sure to bring several handkerchiefs as to hear this song would possibly result in sobs rather than just tears. Lucy is the best singer ever.

@trentnichols942 You certainly won't be disappointed, Lucy is better than you can imagine. I couldn't get to Tokyo but I'll be there in London..

Dennis, you are a great supporter of Lucy. Thank you so much! Lucy’s performance would have been Tony award winning if she would have opened “Les MIs”. No singer can exude emotion like Lucy! She could nave belted the entire song as so many have done but the meaning would have been lost. Her emotion and vocal talent is what makes Lucy Thomas in a class of her own!

I had heard of this song but never actually heard it. By the end I didn't know if my tears were from the beauty of her voice or the sadness of the song!

Great analysis Dennis! Her emotive skills are completely of the chart - Have never seen an artist that was so good at making you feel a song. This Lucy superpower along with THAT voice, IMO, makes her the best vocalist out there. Spectacular performance!! This one is quickly rising up my favorite all time Lucy performances - it is very powerful.

Great reaction. The theatre Royal is the oldest continuously working theatre in the world and has the largest stage in the uk. A perfect place for Lucy's London debut. I've got my ticket and can't wait.

Lucy sing the song from " Fantine" . In the play , Fantine is going to die soon , from misery , crushed by the society).
If you have not seen the musical, or one of the movies of " les miserables" i will recommend to do it. One of the best story ever written.
Lucy took the role very seriously and did this master piece♥️👍🥰

Dennis, nice to see you again. Lucy's voice is silky smooth as usual. Her vibrato shines along with those beautiful notes. It's true the ending is very sad (person trodden down by the world), but even though sad her last note is a thing of beauty. Straight tone held out for an extended time, then a little longer with the vibrato on top, then she pronounces the 'ed' (last part of dreamed), then soft ending. WOW! that last line was fantastic.

Lucy did an amazing job with this. My favorite is still by Lea Salonga for the 25th anniversary of the Broadway production, so emotional.

Yes it is so beautiful to follow Lucy and see her growing as a vocalist/performer. This is such a wonderful song and Lucy has a very warm sound in her voice which gives it something extra. Another very beautiful, but less known, song Lucy has done about a year ago: "Brand New Day". A song so well fitting in the troubled times we are living in right now.

Our geogeous Lucy does it again!,maybe you need to listen to some other renditions of this song from"Les misarable",a # of them are more full on than this one from Lucy,I think she has delivered it in the way it should be,more understated but powerful all the same!,Lucy will have a 30 piece orchestra behind her for her next concert in the "West end" this October!.😊

    Great reaction Dennis!
This was another stunning performance! Lucy has the most beautiful voice in the world. Lucy is an Earth Angel.
Please do not hesitate to play and react to some of Lucy's earlier performances.
They often get overlooked, even by the greatest reactors.
Even at a younger age, Lucy’s voice was already mature beyond her years and absolutely stunning.
Please play and react to Lucy’s breathtaking performances of:
    “LISTEN”; th-cam.com/video/-fGe8Z4uLWE/w-d-xo.html
At just turned 15, Lucy had the mature, passionate, and powerful voice of an adult diva.
And “I’LL NEVER LOVE AGAIN"; th-cam.com/video/4g1Qpu9XPL8/w-d-xo.html
At only age 15, Lucy’s emotional and powerful performance was even better than Lady Gaga’s original.
    And “RUN” th-cam.com/video/HTnry6S4vgc/w-d-xo.html
    At only age 15, Lucy’s voice was so rich and powerful;
I promise you will be blown away.
