He's such a wonderfull man & a purely true,brilliant & comedic genuis:)pls God bring back the best comedy of that era.thanx so much norm for the laughs... Wow, I can still remember the taste of GI Lime cordial and Mynor when Norman mentioned it, even though all these years later I actually forgot it existed!
Most comedy goes stale after a decade or so, or depends on you to know the characters involved to understand the humor, yet it's been 30+ years since this was shot, and I really have no idea who Jack is: yet the premise and delivery is so brilliant, a lot of this remains funny as hell - Garry McDonald is a genius.
@@talk2thoran Ahhh, The ONLY person to win an FI championship in a car with his name. Jack did a lot of work on the car, especially test-driving and fine tuning. However, Jack's partner in Brabham, the brilliant Ron Tauranac designed and fabricated the chassis (he also built cars under the RALT name - very successful especially in F3, Cosworth used a RALT as the test mule for the DFV and other engines). Phil Irving designed the engine using the Oldsmobile version of the Buick 215 aluminium V8 block (later to become the Rover 3.5 litre V8) as a starting point. At one stage Brabham racing built more race cars or chassis (in numerous classes) than any other company.
Gary was so ahead of him time with this format and yet nobody acknowledges him, interviewing guests as a character two decades before Ali g got more famous for doing it even before dame Edna in the 80s and offering the guests alcoholic drinks like Alan Carr on his comedy interview does four decades later and then on-top of that doing the interview from in a pool with a waterproof clipboard which I've never seen anyone do.

he was also a contemporary, rival and good friend of the Kiwi namesake of the Maclaren car and F1 team. apologies, his first name eludes me atm.
