Thanks John, great video, love the drone footage. Is the track through the platform at Duaringa used at all? Seems to be signalled but very grassy. Interesting that they top and tail locos up there but run double headed on Thallon trains, maybe it's because of the Toowoomba range track.
The siding at Duaringa that serves the platform is mostly used to store track machines from what I have seen, The Spirit of the Outback only stops there if there is a passenger stop required. The loading track at Yamala is a dead end siding so I guess it makes sense to top and tail the locos but that said half the time I have seen it there with both locos on the front.
