    it looked like it was worth sitting on that balcony ~ you both had a lovely glow from the sun. If you return I hope you have a lovely evening in the dining room too! 💚

      It was lovely up there but the inside of the restaurant is so incredible! Thanks so much for watching.

    Thank you for bringing a little bit of my favorite place (DL/DCA) to me here in Idaho.
    We have had small plates in the downstairs bar here several times and it was lovely. I love the atmosphere here. It's amazing how much of an escape it is. When I walk in the front door, I feel transported. The patio is nice, but inside is so special and unique. The service has always been impeccable. I'm so sad that you guys didn't love it Carthay Circle.
    That dessert looks amazing!!! I have had so many wonderful dishes there, but I'm not a meat eater, so many that makes a difference. 🤷‍♀️
    Just a small side note... veggies are sides 🤣 Thanks for another great video!

      I'm glad we could bring you along to your favorite place. The atmosphere and ambiance is for sure a 10/10 and I wish we got seated inside. I'd consider going back for the lounge bites. The peas and radish that were a part of my chicken entrée were okay, but I meant there wasn't a side you can choose from the menu. They had Brussel sprouts and parker house rolls for an additional cost, but the entrees were already very pricy. I will say the mashed potatoes Jay got in additional to his steak were yummy!! Thanks so much for watching :)

      @@ThemeParkFoodies I was just teasing about the peas 😉 and I agree, that's a lot to pay for chicken . If you ever get the chance, try the lounge. It's a bit more casual and less pricey. The food is tasty and it's fun

    Wonderful honest review, the appetizers looked lovely. We always have one "fancy" dinner a trip too. Agree with Jay, love a good bread service and they should have that! 😊

      Thank you. Can't do too many fancy dinners in this economy lol We're always disappointed when there's no bread service!!!!

    So glad I finally have the chance to watch your Carthay CIrcle meal. The restaurant is so lovely. We have had a few chances to dine there (never seated outside though!). I will be honest... those prices. Dang! I have to agree w/ you... WDW has better sit down restaurants. Thank you for the awesome review!! Next trip... Napa Rose!!! It is a must :)

    • @ThemeParkFoodies
      @ThemeParkFoodies  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      it was disappointing because we have wanted to eat here for years and it really turned out to be an overpriced mediocre meal. The restaurant itself is beautiful though. We've been very fortunate to have had such great dining experiences in WDW. Napa Rose is definitely on the list!!

    Loved this video! Sorry that for such an expensive restaurant it was a little underwhelming. The steak 🥩 looked delicious and the mashed potatoes too! The tiramisu dessert looked yummy! 😋

    • @ThemeParkFoodies
      @ThemeParkFoodies  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Everything we had was good. The tiramisu and the potatoes were 100% the stand-outs. Unfortunately, I just feel with a price tag like this the bread service needs to be included. We ate at two fine dining restaurants outside Disney after this, both were cheaper and had an included bread service. We're still happy we ate here though 🙂. Definitely one for the books.

    Honestly, I think Carthay Circle al fresco is a better dining experience, especially since you get to sit outside and watch all the parades go by.
    In regards to Disneyland not having as many sit down restaurants, with it being smack dab in the middle of one of the most diverse and largest food destinations in the country (Southern California) and with only three hotels on property, it makes more sense for the Disneyland resort to focus on snacks and theme park food. and they leave the fancy sit down restaurants to all the establishments in the Southern California region.

    • @ThemeParkFoodies
      @ThemeParkFoodies  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Definitely makes sense! We'll need to try Al Fresco in the future. I think as regular patrons of Walt Disney World, we can't help but to compare the cuisine. Orlando has recently upped its restaurant game but it does make more sense for Disney to focus on the resort restaurants here. The snacks at Disneyland are our favorites though. We definitely need to venture out and experience some SoCal restaurants on our next Disneyland trip.

    As a Snow White fan for almost 50 years I think I’d love the ambiance here. I’d prob rather sit inside for that.
    Pricey meal too.

      The ambiance is unmatched, I wish we were seated inside but the outside patio was charming in it's own way. It was very expensive for what we got and the service was just okay.

    We were also sat outside when I ate there, which was very warm (July 🥵) but also such a disappointment because the inside of the restaurant is stunning. There was really nothing on the menu that excited me and I ended up with a peach and burrata salad that I will say, to this day, is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. The Parker House rolls were incredible (due to the butter!) but having to pay for them is a real bummer. Overall, it was…fine…? But probably not something I’d do again.

    • @ThemeParkFoodies
      @ThemeParkFoodies  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think this reflects our sentiments exactly. We were really hoping to dine inside but we didn't get it. There were some hits but overall just not worth the price tag. In my opinion, for what we paid we should at least get the complimentary rolls. We loved the atmosphere though and we're happy we did it 🙂. For us, I think it was something worth doing at least once.

    I don't have to watch this video and I can already say the answer is no. That park has such easy access to the Grand Californian and all the restaurants in there beat Carthay Circle. The major plus of Carthay are the drinks, I love the double pear martini there

    • @ThemeParkFoodies
      @ThemeParkFoodies  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're correct, I'd even say Great Maple and Trader Sam's had better cuisine. The atmosphere was incredible though. Unfortunately we don't drink much but maybe we'll try that double pear martini next trip. We're hoping to try out some of the Grand Californian restaurants our next trip.
