    When we went to Blue Bayou several years ago, likely closer to when you went but maybe more like 2017, and I remember none of us loving our food. Plus, they brought my husband a nearly raw pork chop. It's so dark in there that we couldn't easily see that it was undercooked and he took a few bites before feeling definitively that it was off. Our family loves Alien Pizza Planet and Rancho del Zocalo for value and great menu options. Fountain drinks are refillable at Alien Pizza Planet and the chicken fusilli and a Caesar salad makes a great meal for two people to share. Our kids love the nostalgia of our many meals here. 🍕

    I don’t know I went to the blue Bayou on December 30 and I got the filet mignon Oscar style with the crab meat on top and it was incredibly delicious. I think people are just complaining because it’s expensive but food should not be ranked based on the price should be rent based on taste.
    Also, your opinion differs greatly on the plaza. It really is a good restaurant. The pot roast is amazing. The fried chicken is great. The portion sizes are huge I feel like again it’s just falling victim to complaining about prices. I would actually prefer at the Plaza in Café Orleans.

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Definitely has nothing to do with price for me. My favorite restaurant, Docking Bay 7, is the priciest of the quick services and it didn’t affect my ranking. Bengal BBQ is also rather expensive because you need like 3-4 skewers to make a decent meal so that one is $19+ for one person.
      The Filet wasn’t on the menu when I went, but the only thing they seem to do right are the beef cuts. Not from experience as I haven’t ordered them, but just what other people have said.
      We ordered 3-4 different items from the menu and it was either terrible quality or too small of a portion.
      And the beef I ordered at Cafe Orleans was superior to the Plaza Inn Fried Chicken in every way.
      Every one has different tastes. If you enjoy those places, that’s perfectly fine. I just ask that you not act like my opinions aren’t valid because we had different experiences.

    Took a screenshot of the list for my July trip. I'm a bit of a food snob and will often bring my own wrap sandwiches into the wdw park for lunch, or eat at Epcot, but I'm going to try your top suggestions. Thanks for sorting out all the info for all of us.

      Personal opinion. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I did say it might make some waves. 😂
      I actually gave it a chance this year, but the chicken tenders and fish and chips we had was legitimately the worst thing I’ve eaten at Disneyland in the last year.
      Possible it was a bad day for the cook? Yes. But it was the experience we got.

    No Tropical Hideaway?

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I consider that to be more of a snack location than an actual quick service restaurant. I understand you could make a meal out of bao and lumpia, but that was the criteria I used last year, and I did not add any additional food locations except Cafe Daisy since it IS a new quick service since last year.
      This kept the rankings the most similar and gave a truer rankings movement (up or down) to see how my opinions changed from trying new things.
      I did highly consider adding it and Maurice’s at least into the mix, but ultimately decided against it.

    • @SoCalDisneyDad

      They’re decent. I like the spicy corn dog over at DCA better.
      But you can get corn dogs anywhere.
      My opinion about Disney food is to NOT eat burgers, hotdogs, chicken tenders, corn dogs, pizza, etc.

    Blue Bayou was terrible this year. Waste of $300 on our visit.

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Part of it is definitely the price. When I pay that much money for a single dish I expect fine dining. But it’s like you’re paying a premium for the view, and the food is just the same as any quick service. And that’s a huge let down.

    My dude….I can understand not liking the food at stage coach or but it is better than Pizza Planet if every conceivable way. But to say Stage Coach, which architecturally is one of the most perfectly themed and beautifully sculpted restaurants at any Disney park is blasphemous. And I won’t stand for it. I mean come on man. A saloon themed restaurant complete with two levels and a pianist could not be any more perfect for Frontierland.

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I didn’t say it wasn’t perfect for Frontierland. It absolutely is. Just not my favorite theming overall. But the review is definitely based on the food.
      Alien Pizza Planet pasta is legitimately decent. It’s middle of the road. Sure. Ranked 11 out of 23 is pretty middle of the road. Their pizza? Terrible. I did say if it were based on the pizza alone it would be duking it out for the bottom spot.

      No offense taken! Most of the kids food is at the bottom of my list (chicken tenders, pizza, corn dogs, nuggets, burgers).
      I know I said a grilled cheese sandwich was near the top of my list, but the real winner isn’t the sandwich, it’s the soup. And I legitimately did not think it could be all that great. It’s just a grilled cheese and tomato soup, right? But it was surprising.
      Bengal BBQ skewers are spicy, way too much for my kids, and packed with flavor. So even those are literally just meat on a stick, it’s so much better than it sounds.
