    Great idea to fit scooter tires on the bike. I have a different ebike with wide tires and I will look into getting scooter tires for it. Nice review. Thanks for sharing.

    Great review, would have been useful to us in Holland recently as we both have 27 gear mountain bikes and were passed constantly by people in their 80's riding ebikes!

      🤣 I remember feeling really despondent once going up a hill when someone overtook me like that and I didn't realise that they were "cheating" with an e-bike!

    Kudos to you Andre and Lisa! I see Andre is wearing knapsack while pedalling. May I ask if there is a reason why you didnt put the Rad basket in the front? To carry stuff…as Lisa is on the back? I just bought one here on Vancouver Island and am going to order front large basket but wondered if you had any thoughts? Thanks! I will most likely carry beach chairs and other stuff on the back! Have fun!

      A basket will sure be handy! We keep accessories to a minimum as the bike(s) have to go on a carrier at the back of our motorhome and we have limited space to store anything extra when not in use.

    i have mine for half a year, and it's interesting to soo what others think of the bike. and i'll share tow neat findings of mine.
    you can get more speed out of the EU version, by setting the wheel size to 14". that way you can get up to 35km/h on a flat. ;-)
    also dunlop makes a little 7L bicycle cooler bag, that nicely fits into that space in the frame behind the seat post. looks pretty good too! (you can move the controller underneath, to to have more room for the bag)

    • @WeWillNomad
      @WeWillNomad  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's a great hack with the wheel size setting! 😂 Still loving our RW4, although we haven't had much chance to use it recently.

    Hey, great review thanks! I have two questions, if you don't mind me asking:
    1. If I may ask you, how tall are the two of you? Because I'm quite tall (190cm) and I'm unsure whether the RadWagon might be too small for me, and I would also like to know what's the ideal height to be comfortable in the backseat.
    2. What's the "added suspension" that you point out in 9:32 ? I really like the idea and would like to implement it myself !
    Thank you, safe travels :D

    • @WeWillNomad
      @WeWillNomad  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad you found it helpful! I'm 1.90 as well and Lisa is 1.56. I use the double seat post at its highest setting and you can pivot the handlebars up or out to adapt your position. It's a reasonably comfortable position for me and I would have preferred another centimeter for the legs, but I have long legs (relatively speaking). Lisa found it much more comfortable on the back once we raised the seat so that her knees are at more of a right angle. The 'suspension' is two layers of a high-density kneeling pad. Low tech but it works a treat. 😎

    Great review of your rad bike. So cool - I want one for riding myself around Langebaan as well as the Langebaan lagoon.
    Could also become very handy around Panorama which is very a very flat area.
    Does an over 70 year old man need a special licence to ride it and if not -how much do you think it will cost to have one shipped to Cape Town????
    Thanks for sharing your wonderful adventures!

    hi Andre and Lisa, thank you for such a comprehensive review! would you mind telling me the make and model of the scooter tire you replaced the Radwagon stock tires with? are they standard scooter 22x3 tires? do they use an inner tube? thanks so much! :) - Peter

      Hi Peter! The exact tire I used is the FRONT 18 " 2.75 - 18 M/C 42P TL as on this page: www.pirelli.com/tyres/en-ww/motorcycle/all-tyres/sheet/city-demon. At the time I got it on Amazon Spain. Great video. We're currently trying to decide whether to buy a scooter or ebike. Our concern on ebike is charging it if you are only using solar panels for charging it. Ps... We have a high rear garage which we could fit a small scooter in. Appreciate your advise

    • @WeWillNomad
      @WeWillNomad  ปีที่แล้ว

      Wish there was an easy answer to this one...We would ideally prefer to have both options. In some regions a scooter is more versatile. For example, the Balkans have virtually no cycle space and even the roads rarely have shoulders. Some countries are too hilly and frankly has too many crazy drivers (#Italy 😋). With a scooter you can cover distance easier, you can carry a passenger. You can go get groceries. You can explore further. But. You now you have another vehicle which requires maintenance, road worthy tests and insurance. You need the ability to load it in your van or have a proper motorcycle rack. You need the weight capacity to allow for all of this. In our case we can only register a motorcycle in Italy so that means we must return to Italy and purchase one there. Painful. But then again.. You never have to charge the battery if you have a scooter. And frankly a scooter will proabbly be much cheaper than e-bikes..😄 That said, with e-bikes you can do many of the above but with some limitations. With e-bikes you can use cycle lanes and see parts of a city or countryside that you would never get to with a scooter. But it has limits. We use a single cargo bike, and it works great up to a point. We spoke about most of the pros and cons in this video. We theoretically also charge our batteries (we have 2) with solar only. But it takes a bit of planning. Actually, what we do is use our Ecoflow power bank to charge the battery which in turn is charged with solar. If you have 2 bikes you have double the problem. In winter power is more of a concern than summer. We also use our bike batteries as reserve power for our solar bank in emergency. Think carefully about how you might use a scooter or ebike. How much do you enjoy cycling? Is it purely a functional or sightseeing purpose? Either scooter or ebikes will add massively to your travel experiences - especially in Western Europe and Scandinavia. However, anything on an outside rack gets hammered by the elements and you will have to cover and secure it well. Keeping it inside a garage is 1st prize from a maintenance perspective. Most important though, is how easy you can get it in, out or off. It's only usefull if you can get to USE it easily. My guess is that everything I said confuses the issue even further. 😋 Good luck!

    Your bike is so cool. Is it legal everywhere in Europe? I know in Denmark it is not legal to be 2 on a bike, they can actually give a fine to both, it is DKK 1400

      I've heard that this might be the case. Although some say the controller won't be able to deliver enough power. Apart from that, you won't believe how savvy the police are in some countries.. they know exactly what to look for to check if you're 'legal' 🤦‍♂️
