- This video is part of the 'Hamara Kanoon' project which is a year long project to explain some main laws in simple language. The idea is to make laws accessible for people and to create legal awareness. This video explains the law on arrest in India and the guidelines laid down by the Supreme Court for the procedure to be followed by the police when arresting a person.

Arrest by magistrate for 90 days ??????

Section 167 of the Code allows that a person may be held in the custody of the police for a period of 15 days on the orders of a magistrate. This paper discusses the laws of custody in India and also the rights of an accused person. It also discusses the remedies that an accused has if he/she challenges the legality of the arrest.

But that person is innocent so how can that person clear his view of point According to law..... Please guide me its important for me... Thanks

2)if he do not produce me in front of court within 24 hours.

Can a policeman force you to surrender you mobile,laptop and other personal data like gmail password, for a third party without any proper inquiry or complaint??

1st-if police is seeking some information from you ,then u should give it to the police.
2nd-if you are sitting in park and doing nothing which is forbidden by law, then no one can say anything except when you are in restricted area.
3rd- they ask mostly to call your parents when you are minor(below18).

Dear Madam,
My father is security service provider. he has taken a contract where he provide security guard for land security.
waha par thodi hi dur par electric wires rakhwaye gaye before 4 months and that was theft by someone, and also for which my father was not informed ki hamara wire yaha rakha hai.
yesterday police called my father to come along with security guard. then just on the basis of complaint of manager of company, police arrested security guard without any FIR and bahot mara unhe and arrested on a suspecious basis.
mam they want my father will pay the compensation which is around 2 laks.
the internal control of company like cameras not working even.
they want us to bear the loss.
Madam please tell us the way so that they cannot harm to my father or security guard.

magar meri bua ko sons nahi hai sirf 2 daughters hai aur unke apne cousin brothers bolre ke chuki aap ko sons nahi sirf daughters hai to sari land pe hamara hi haq hoga, balki court ne equally distribute kiya hai dono brothers ke beach,
mere bua ke son in laws thode weak hai har chiz se to ye log stand lene nahi dere dara ke dham ke bolre wo sari land hamari aur hum thode paise tumlog ko dede te land hamare naam pe kardo bolre aur mere bua unlog bohat pareshan hai.
ma'ma i want some legal advise here, meri bua kaise apni land pe stand lesakti hai aur kaise ye log ko legally rok sakte hai, ma'am pleaes advise me as soon as possible.
