I’ve really enjoyed your videos mate, as someone doing their first marathon in 2 weeks at age 54, you’ve really been an inspiration to me. Just being on that start line is a privilege for all of us, so many people don’t get that opportunity. All the best for Manchester mate, soak it up and if sub 3 isn’t on it doesn’t matter 👍💪😊
Thank you Steve! As you say, just being in the start line is an achievement. You too have a great one in 2 weeks time. Which one you at?
@@PoetWithPace I’m running the Ballarat Marathon an hour and a half drive out of Melbourne. Shooting for a 3.30 so not at your pace but maybe in a year or three I’ll be targeting a sub 3 - you never know! Have a great day tomorrow mate! 👍
@@Steveness100 excellent Steve! Enjoy the race and the following years training 👍🏼
Hi Steve I’m also running Ballarat, shooting for a sub 4 -just holding on for as long as I can,
See you on Sunday 😅
See you there and be sure to say hello!
Have a good run
It was a great run!
Like the strategy, go for it! All the best
Oh boy it was hard!
Hope you feel great during the race and have fun pressing barriers...
Thank you Bill 🏆
All the best for whichever event you do! Enjoy it regardless of how you feel✊
Thank you!
I will be one of the volunteers at 6 mile drink station. What's your preference, a G & T? 😂
Thank you for volunteering! i missed the G&T LOL
I think you will do it Donato, good idea to run with the 3hour pacer, all you have to do is hold on & don’t let go, remember to breath relax, good luck ✅🌴🏃🏽♂️🌲✌️👣👍🏼
Thank you Reece, really appreciate your positive support and encouragement!
Hi Donato you did Great 03:02:39 BRAVO
Thank you!
Best of luck mate! Let’s just relax and casually smash that sub 3 💪🏻
Cheers Rich!
Good luck, you’ll do brilliantly. See you up there.
Thank you James, look forward to seeing you too and all the best to you on such an epic race!
lol see if you can find Kieran 🏃♂️🏃♂️
That would be good!
Good luck, hope you get sub 3hrs; most of all, enjoy the run.
I hope so too 🏆
Good luck Donato. Looking forward to seeing how you get on - Manchester is a great marathon for PBs 😉
Thank you buddy! It was a hard one!
Had to pull out of Manchester this year (had already deferred as I GFA for London last year) with knee issue not allowing me to train to go for GFA again. Gutting but needed to make the decision and move on. Sounds like you've lots going on and you know you need to be equally as mentally strong!! Good luck and I would try to take the positives out of the situation and just enjoy going for a run with race day atmosphere!
Sorry to hear that Matthew, these things happen. Absolutely take the positives from the block and already first marathon in a year and first marathon since the serious injuries last year...so let's see what happens!
All the best, yes running Manchester sunday, and you have nothing to prove just enjoy it and hope to spot you in the village
Thank you! Be sure to say hello if you see me 🤩
Just enjoy the run. Listen to you body on the way round. It's all about your next run.
Absolutely Geoff!
good luck, it's going to be a great day
Thank you Phil, i do also hope it will be a great day!
Go for it Donato you’ll be bostin!
It was hard!
Best of luck! 🦾🦾
Thank you Mika!
Good luck donato
Thank you! 👍🏼
You can do it 🏃🏻♂️🙌
I hope so!
Hi Donato. As you know, I’m on a self enforced break from TH-cam at moment but thought I’d nip back on to wish you all the luck in the world. Sub 3 is such a tough nut to crack but I truly believe, 2024 is the year you will finally do it.
Have an incredible weekend. I look forward to seeing you achieve your dreams.
Thank you Colin and really appreciate your positive support and encouragement!
#KFG Donato!💪🍀
Oh boy it was hard Suzanne!
Good Luck Donato I really applaud your positivity & hope you achieve that sub 3 despite all your issues. I'm also running, but in the Green Wave in the next age group up 65-69. Praying for a sub 3.45🙏
Thank you for your positive support and encouragement which is greatly appreciated. You can do it also!
Good Luck, your in good form so go for it 🤞
Thank you Ian! Hope you are well?
See you in Manchester…I’m also chasing a sub 3. Jason Rippongale and Ste Curley are the 3hr pacers. Both incredibly experienced Marathon runners and pacers.
Thank you Steve! Be sure to say hello if you see me. Which wave you in?
@@PoetWithPace red wave and I’ll definitely say hello if I see you 🙂🏃🏼
Love your channel. Go and smash it Donato. I should be there and looking to complete my first marathon, that's if my foot holds up... The training has unfortunately taken it's toll but we will see.
Good luck 👍
Thank you! Hope you have a great one too, just enjoy the day and don’t worry about any paces or times to finish 🏆
Good luck, Donato! The nerves are getting to me now, just 24 hours out. I just want to get it done😃
Thank you. How did you get on?
@@PoetWithPace 4 hours 27 mins. Enjoyed the experience. Great crowd. Well done on your time. How do you do it 😄
@@Ponty30 very well done! I’ve been training for almost 9 years now
Great to bump in to you in person in Manchester earlier where we were both on route to the MM pop up place. Best of luck tomorrow in ur sub 3 hr mission!
Great to meet you Wayne. How did you get on?
@PoetWithPace Hi Donato, pretty much everything went to plan 🙏 (refuelling strategy, following 4 hr pacer etc) & i bagged a sub 4 hr, coming in at 3 hrs 58 & 54 seconds, taking circa 14 mins off previous PB so proper over the moon with that 🤩. Well done on ur epic time 👏🙌 amazing with the roller coaster prep uv been on. Saw the 3 hr pacer & runners coming back from one of loop bits & the pace/speed running at or close to 3 hrs is incredible so a huge well done & respect! 💪🙌
@@waynefarrington6420 that is brilliant to hear Wayne! Wait till you see my race day footage...indeed we were flying!
Good luck hope you get the result you want. I’m running Manchester but much slower than you, hoping to get 4:15 ish ,
Thank you. How did you get on?
Well done on your result! I was on target for 20 miles then pace dropped. Got in 4:29:57 . Great event , support was fantastic .
@@FewGoats superb, well done! Got your next one booked?
@@PoetWithPace Thanks, yes Manchester booked for next year, my daughter persuaded me!,
Good luck for tomorrow. I’m running the Manchester marathon too but from further away. I’m targeting 3:30😅
Thank you! How did you get on?
@@PoetWithPace I finished in 3:26. really struggled after Altrincham !
@@LuciodoBrazil brilliant time! 🎉 got your next one booked?
@@PoetWithPaceNot yet as I’m getting older and need to be careful😂. I’m thinking Sevilla or Malaga as I missed the Valencia registration. Congrats on your 3:02! That’s a fantastic time for a V60 runner!
@@LuciodoBrazil Malaga is nice and low key compared to Seville and Valencia
Good luck! All the best!
Thank you and you too! 🤩
@@PoetWithPace thank you 🤩
Ah best of luck Donato, fingers crossed for you Sunday, will be keeping an eye on your progress and my club mates during the day 😊
Thank you Neil, appreciate your positive support
