I always wanted my mothers first wedding dress, but it was destroyed. When she married for a second time, I convinced her to rent her beautiful gown as there was no sentimental attachment to it and no one else for her to pass it on too. It saved her $1500 that they were able to add on to her wedding ring.
회복 It's ironic that the cheapest dress actually looks the most beautiful. My sisters wedding dress was beautiful and it took a long time to make in fact so long my mother could not finish making it and she was forced to get some other dressmaker to complete the final steps. It was made from pure silk which looked like light gold yet it was by far the most beautiful dresses I've seen. I doubt it cost more than $1000 AUD to make. Obviously many dressmakers made a fortune out of making dresses. 12 million is total waste of money. Prices Di had a beautiful dress for sure and she looked stunningly beautiful.

I have designed and made three wedding gowns, but I have always wanted to make a wedding gown of denim. Maybe I will make it for our 30th wedding anniversary on February 13, 2023! I can almost see it now using lace and pearl as embellishments!!
50 years ago, I fell in love with my dress. It was gorgeous. I tried it on and it fit like a glove. I looked at price tag. Over 3,000. But the manager pulled me aside and told me it was 2 years old, and it was so tiny no one could wear it... except me. Price was $ 200.00

The bodice was too low (prob the weight of all those diamonds!) and the tulle headdress was way too much (just like Melanias). Keep it simple and elegant ladies.

My dress from JCPENNEY catalog back in 1988 cost $156, I believe, & 34 years ago TODAY, my husband still says I was a beautiful bride. If I had 1 million dollars, I’d still have it in the bank & donate some of it to charities like St. Jude, The Shriners Hospitals, etc. all worthy causes. I hate to see people spend so much on a wedding that it’s decadent to the point of downright sinfulness. You can cut back a little, donate to worthy causes & still have a beautiful wedding day, JMHO.

Yes on an $8000 dress they'll use better fabrics, beading, etc but Kate's dress was (I'm positive) made from the very best fabric, silks, (yes there is a difference on all fabrics!) beading, literally designed from scratch by an actual designer, 99%Of it sewn by hand, 100% of the beadwork done by hand, the list goes on and on. Way too much to list! And it was her parents choice to "throw that money away", it never ceases to amaze me how others judge how people decide to spend their own money.
...and about half of marriages fail. Very stupid to buy an expensive wedding dress unless you have money to burn. Ah, marketing does wonders for the bridal industry.

These designers and dressmakers see wealthy brides and parents coming through the door and charge them as much as they can. Can't blame the dressmakers or designers for doing this to people who think that whatever costs the most is the best. When it comes to super wealthy families buying dresses like these, it's the equivalent of a middle class bride paying ten cents for her dress.
The only ones I found “stunning” were the Swarovski one, Amal’s and I liked Kate Middleton’s as well even though it was quite simple. Although you could easily replicate these dresses using less expensive materials and possibly make them look even better!
Hopefully they didn't choose the cruel way( thought their is a high chance they did). Peacock tend to drop lots & lots of feather behind, & if kept well these feathers will stay in shape.
Loved Amal's gown, as well as Angela's. I love Kate and Diana's dresses, too, at least as much for nostalgia purposes as the design. Some of the other dresses were relatively ho hum, especially given their extreme price tags. Weddings are a time for closest friends and family, not to be obscenely expensive, starting the couple off on several wrong feet. Part of the fun of my wedding would be to see how little I can spend and make it look pretty, yet inviting.
I think my dress was only $600, but I loved it and looked great! Best part was, afterwards, I cut the huge Dutchess Silk Satin skirt off and gave it to my cousin, an artist, and she made a triptych for us as a wedding gift, with the dress as the canvass. The three pieces of artwork are framed and hang in my dining room and everyone comments on how beautiful the artwork is. Then I tell them it is my wedding dress, and everyone always looks at me in shock and awe! It was a great idea! So happy I thought of it! 😆
I wore a borrowed wedding gown, and have been married 40+ years. How many of these famous dresses worn by famous people can say the same thing? Weddings are about marriages, not about parties!
Back in the 70´s my wedding dress cost was $600.- It was a gift from my Mother in law. I looked like a princess. It was so beautiful that two of my cousins also wore the same dress for their weddings. Still married after all these years to my HS sweetheart. If you can afford a million dollars dress go ahead and get it, but money doesn´t buy you love.
For $1M, I'm getting a wedding, honeymoon, and completely furnished home, then donate the rest as the above mentioned items would total less than $400K.
I have no problem with the amount of money an original bespoke wedding dress may cost, after all, it's all relative to their lives and the event. However, the Vera Wang peacock wedding dress I find offensive, how many poor Peacocks had to be sacrificed so that some shallow minded and egotistical women can look like a Peacock! What a bizarre way of thinking. Before we know it Peacocks will be extinct too!
A peacock doesn't have to for you to get it's feathers. Peacocks loose their feathers once a year. I only have three peacocks and I have tons of feathers that we give them out by the vases as gifts to anyone that wants it. We don't even collect the feathers really. We just pick them up when we see them.

Yea, I had no clue they moulted so much either until I had them myself. And I really hope so to since I know plucking feathers can kill peacocks from stress.
Elle, the difference is that for that dress, each feather would have to be in perfect condition. Whilst some that are moulted may be perfect, you can bet those weren't, not to fill an order for that many all at one time :(
Angie yea I know not all feathers were moulted but it's not that hard to get that many perfect feathers if you own a lot of peacocks and considering they probably bought it wholesale, it most likely comes from a farm.

Amal's dress was off-shoulder lace, but apart from the fact that it was de la Renta and her wearing it, I didn't notice anything particularly unusual or spectacular about it. Trains don't count, they can make any dress look better.
Nurdan Baran. I'd have to add Anal Clooneys dress to the list of best. I actually prefer it over Kate's dress. Kate's was perfect for her position, beautiful, classy, modest yet not frumpy.

I always loved looking at wedding dresses! Although these wedding dresses definitely look luxurious, I don't think wedding dresses matter as long as the marriage is a loving and happy one. I wish you would show the dress in full, front and back, otherwise it seems just a waste of time catching a glance of the dress. We never see the pearls, and crystals clise up.
We would've loved to, but in our research we didn't find any that would make the top 10, with a clear price tag. We know there might be other wedding dresses more expensive than these ones, but we couldn't find proof (they were not made public)

My dress was given to me by a friend, she bought it for about $20.00. She gave it to me with the stipulation that after I was done with it and cleaned it, I gave it to someone else who needed a wedding dress. It was a cream color knit sheath knee length. Next month it will be 31 years for us.
I never post negative comments , but these are just regular wedding gowns with people that have money that are dumb enough to pay that much. I aspire to be wealthy one day , and am on my way, so I am not criticizing wealth by any means. I wonder if they didn’t know how much those people had if the same dresses would costs that much, probably not. I hope they enjoyed their special day, ☺️💜

I have no problem with the amount of money an original bespoke wedding dress may cost, after all, it's all relative to their lives and the event. However, the Vera Wang peacock wedding dress I find offensive, how many poor Peacocks had to be sacrificed so that some shallow minded and egotistical women can look like a Peacock! What a bizarre way of thinking. Before we know it Peacocks will be extinct too!
A peacock doesn't have to for you to get it's feathers. Peacocks loose their feathers once a year. I only have three peacocks and I have tons of feathers that we give them out by the vases as gifts to anyone that wants it. We don't even collect the feathers really. We just pick them up when we see them.

Yea, I had no clue they moulted so much either until I had them myself. And I really hope so to since I know plucking feathers can kill peacocks from stress.
Elle, the difference is that for that dress, each feather would have to be in perfect condition. Whilst some that are moulted may be perfect, you can bet those weren't, not to fill an order for that many all at one time :(
Angie yea I know not all feathers were moulted but it's not that hard to get that many perfect feathers if you own a lot of peacocks and considering they probably bought it wholesale, it most likely comes from a farm.

Amal's dress was off-shoulder lace, but apart from the fact that it was de la Renta and her wearing it, I didn't notice anything particularly unusual or spectacular about it. Trains don't count, they can make any dress look better.

My dress was given to me by a friend, she bought it for about $20.00. She gave it to me with the stipulation that after I was done with it and cleaned it, I gave it to someone else who needed a wedding dress. It was a cream color knit sheath knee length. Next month it will be 31 years for us.

Don't be worried. Peacocks don't die when you collect their feathers. They lose their feathers once a year to grow out new ones.
