I can't believe I missed this one! This was a great interview.. Man people may not realize it now, but you're building a library of history on tape /audio. I've been a fan and listener since the first year it started. So addicting. Thanks for all the amazing content! Hopefully you get gary on again, seems like he has stories for days. Love it! Happy holidays from 🍁

This is a great interview,, makes u realise its not just the fighters who have great stories.a lot of people make the 'sport' with different roles.thos is so intresting u got jon jones x manager and kimbos thats pimp dude.
@@LytesOutMMAHistory good stuff mike, I've just gone to sherdog to look up kimbos record and see what year tht mercer fight was it's not on his sherdog page ,very strange,it was his mma debut tho right? ,before bo canterell and Abbott fights. Chuck didn't use his wrestling much your right,I love tht Franklin fight when he mixed it up, even tho he lost,in his last UFC fight!
1:44:11 not sure this is important or not. I would swear I seen Shelby Walker at UFC 37 in Bossier City, Louisiana. She was vocally supportive of Yves Edwards. Cheering him on vs Caol Uno.
That’s normal in n this sport I come from a traditional boxing background so I was exposed to the heartbreak at an early age I have managed 2 fighters in my life time because they were friends It is not a path that is a desirable to me
The Jones situation breaks my heart. Not only did they find and create a champion, but the guy many believe the greatest fighter ever. Its not surprising Jon knifed them in the back seeing as how his career turned out after - Jon only cares about Jon. But imagine he had these guys around him that could keep him grounded, clean and dedicated? Imagine the things he could have done then? And IMHO, the Jones before he was champion was BETTER than the Jackaon Wink caredul decision Jon. When Jones first came on the scene he was so daring, creative, he was smashing wrestlers at their game then out stiking elite strikers at their game. Ita hard to call him a wasted talent when he has never lost, but I still think he could have done alot more
joe silva was a fertitta idea, he was on the old combat list. Art Davie flipped his wig over the 33 silva debacle, davie said silva's only experience was backyard wrestling, where they would ape the recent wwe stupidity
You are right too! Jones only passed the OSP USADA test! One clean fight i. The whole USADA era! No human in history has "pulsed" for Turinabol......SHAMEFUL the UFC made that excuse up for him, which means they allowed him to juice for all his fights and made his competition fight clean 😡 In 100 years from now this will be seen as one of the biggest scandals in sport. They allowed one fighter to juice so they could make money, all while forcing all his competetion to fight clean and take brain damage from an enganced fighter that already had every physical tool over them. Like DC said : if he will take coke to have a fun time, he will definitely take roids to win fights and keep the money coming in. This is why Fedor = GOAT. Jones could have been but he ruined it, sadly.
Love the show. Keep up the great work!! Looking forward to the next one.
Another banger
Now i must go find the Dennis Kang interview.

Agreed
He took chances and made magic prior to the move
