@@SpiritTracker7 they’re called staple fibers. Sometimes in the carpet construction process they add more fibers that don’t necessarily get woven into the strands to increase the weight count of the carpet. You will see more of it with cheaper polyester carpets.
Thanks, I've been researching it too.. so another explanation is called shedding or fuzzing. Fuzzing is like the carpet pile, over the years, has been damaged by grit and sand at the base. Like little micro blades sawing at the base of carpet fibers. And/Or if the latex bonding isn't thick in certain areas (the cheap carpet) then carpet fibers will lose their tight weave and begin unwinding. It seems the CRB is removing damaged carpet fibers.. most of it looked like fuzz in his container.. So thanks, I have a better understanding now yay.

Yes, both loose fibers with hair and dust. This was the first time the carpets were ever power scrubbed.
