The whole area of Palouse from the many rolling hills to the canyon can be a unique national park. At least better than Indiana Dunes and Hot Springs

Living in Coeur d'Alene ID we've thought about going to Palouse Falls for a long time. We finally made the trip last week. What a major disappointment, first of all the falls are not in the Palouse a strangely beautiful and singular landscape. The falls are in the Eastern Washington Scab Lands a dismal and unyielding environment that never recovered from the post glacial floods.
The falls itself is brackish and unspectacular and the surrounding landscape feels like a dystopian sci-fi the communities in that area are are very depressed. Weird vibes, I'm not going back.
