Great video. You think the skeeters are bad now? Wait to Oregon. They are horrendous. Will be that way to most likely the end of July, then welcome the biting flies north of Timberline Lodge, into Portland. We just got 7 inches of snow yesterday (15th) at Timberline Lodge- it is covered, again. Happy hiking
@@bubblehead_hikes Why don’t you like Desolation Wilderness? I’m guessing as a through hiker you’re not a fan of the permits, bear canister, and no fires
@@RIngels15248the Desolation wilderness when I went through was muddy, snowy and mosquito-ridden. I’m sure it’s lovely other times of the year. For me, it was a goal to simply press through. Add to it just having finished lugging a bear can and other gear through the high Sierra and yeah… I’m so done with the bear can. And the mosquitoes don’t respect park boundaries so they were really bad regardless of where I was during that time lol😅
Plan? 😂 I’m so past that. And the Tahoe Basin “requirement” was completely unknown to me. My plan? I hiked 27 miles through desolation. So based on the information I had available, I’m good to go.
What an extra effort to shoot these awesome videos. Would you start so early again? We watch all your videos, you are an inspiration for us, keep going, can‘t wait for the next video
I look forward to all your videos and wish I was there with you. You're a stud not an easy task at all. Do you use an app or what do you use to track your total miles walked?
You are zipping right along and 😊having good NCal weather!
OMG…camped Lake Aloha..gorgeous sunsets and a fabulous sunset swim… enjoy, enjoy, and I am so enjoying your f&*king videos 😅
I love watching these, then opening up GAIA and seeing where you have been and the ground you covered.
Another beautiful stretch. Wow!
LOVE IT- give me mountains over desert any day! Won't be long and you will be into Elk sightings.
You're really trucking along now, it must feel good to be able to cruise along on long stretches of dirt. You're a hiking machine.
Fun to see you on sections both side of Interstate 80 that have enjoyed on day hikes. Some good mileage days. Hike on!
Been following all along, just don't comment much. Good stuff.

That tunnel under 80 was blocked with snow and running water a month ago. It’s beautiful snow shoeing country there.
Met you in Lone Pine, CA. I was with the group that you came and talked to. I am really enjoying following you. Thanks for the updates. Save hiking
Awesome! Thank you for following and watching!!
I’m camping at Lake Aloha and Dicks Lake next week! Stoked to see it’s basically clear of snow.
Enjoy!! Those places looked freaking amazing to camp by.

@@bubblehead_hikes Mosquitoes! Can make everything miserable. I’m looking forward to following your hike.
Dig the videos and your journey. You need more cussing in your videos. haha. Look forward to the next video. Cheers!
New: bear cans now required thru Tahoe Basin. Added to Desolation Wilderness. What’s ur plan? Can u hike it in 1 day?

Don’t know. I paid the price for the solitude. Don’t know if I’d enjoy the high Sierra with so many other people in it.
Your videos continue to be impressive and entertaining! Curious if you are the director of Save the Scenic Santa Ritas?
😂 I’m just some dude rolling bad GoPro footage 🤣

I use an app called “Hiker’s Logbook”. Fairly handy app to track my hike progress.
Did you make a reservation at Donner Ski Ranch for a room or just show up?
I just rocked in and asked for a bunk. I preface that with the fact that I’m ahead of the massive bubble that is south of me.
