Hello Hello everyone! This is a recut of episode 1. Now that I’ve figured out how to include more of the original music and content to pass YT content ID, I wanted to reupload my episode 1 react. Since this is episode 1 and viewers here may not have finished the series, please keep comments spoiler free. Spoiler free lore is appreciated though. Hope you enjoy! 💖✨😊
Fun fact, Wendover Airbase in Utah (where the Brotherhood of Steel scenes were filmed) is where the Enola Gay was stationed during World War 2. The Enola Gay was the plane that dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, so it's an unbelievably thematically appropriate location for the show. The flight crews for the attack runs on both Hiroshima and Nagasaki were also stationed at Wendover and trained there from 1943-1945.
When I researched the geo location, I read up on the history and historical society for Wendover. It definitely is incredibly thematically appropriate 🤯
As a film and video editor I thought you did a great job on your first time through... I think the vast majority of your viewers for this series had already watched the series (at least a couple times) and were already into the video game series and were interested in a "Lay persons" perspective on a universe that is beloved by them. Having said that you put an overlay when the most crucial part of the story happened... the first nuclear explosion!!! and we couldn't see your facial expression!!! DOH!!! I did really love the extra effort you put in with the locations and other tid bits...
Oh man very good points. Things to think about as I continue learning more and more. Right now, ripple delete is my friend lol. The main thing I know 😅
The Fallout world is based on Retro Futurism. The first game came out in 1997, and I played the heck out of it (to my husband's dismay). All of the songs played in the show have been in Fallout games. Those are the best soundtracks! I feel this is safely outside the realm of spoilers, since it's never revealed: The Enclave are the remnants of the US government, and they are EVIL. Now you'll have to say that Silo has a Fallout vibe (and now I'm wondering if there was Fallout inspiration there.)
Fallout takes place in a parallel timeline to ours. In their timeline, there have been three world wars. Their scientific advancements were developed purely for Military applications. Whereas our technological advancements were driven by industrial and commercial purposes. Even though this episode starts in 2077, culturally it's equivalent to (1953 - 1963).
In this first episode I noticed a guitar against the Vault wall in the background. This is very curious because in the games, particularly F04, there are no musical instruments at all. Apparently none survived the bombings despite the surface dweller's love of listening to music. I recall in F03 that there was a side quest to find someone's Violin, but don't remember any other instruments in the game, nor in FNV. And none in any of the Vaults. Apparently, 200 year old holotapes are the only sources of music. Maybe the guitar's TV appearance was meant to correct this oversight.
Fallout 76 has a whole mess of instruments, and playing any of them for 30 secs gives you a buff for an hour. And if you get other players to play instruments together, the music lines up into a solid jam session.
@mmmmike0 Hey that's very cool! Thanks for the info! Obviously, I've never played FO76. I heard too many negative comments about the game. But I'm glad to hear that they put some instruments into the game. I love the FO76 cover version of the "Country Roads" song.
@@x_trio_3_po333you really shouldn’t listen to the negative comments because a lot were from people with an axe to grind. There’s definitely instruments in Fallout. The violin from 3 was a particular special violin, a soil Stradivarius, something already rare enough in our world yet alone post Apocalypse
@@Vaultboy-ke2jj Fair enough about the negative comments. However, my main beef with FO76 is that it is exclusively multi-player rather than single player. I'm not a fan of multi-player games. If it were single player like FO4 and 3, I would have started playing it years ago despite some of the negative comments. And in light of the recent comments in this thread, I'm still mystified that there are no musical instruments in FO4. How hard it is to design a piano or a guitar or drums, or a trumpet? Sure you could argue that there are instruments in the FO4 game. (e.g. spoons, pots and pans, empty beer bottles, etc). But that doesn't account for the missing pianos and guitars. I'm at least glad that there are a few Mods that do put working musical instruments into FO4.
Those are supposed to be army style latrines; the Brotherhood is distantly descended from the US Army. Max spends like half the first episode digging holes. Not exactly the way we would do it, but "dig a hole and put a crapper over it" is one way to do it.
Fallout is the future as people in the 1950s imagined it. After WW2 technology advanced in the use of nuclear power but the transistor was not invented and electronics uses tubes. But small fusion reactors exist and power cars and robots and such. The birthday takes place in 2077. The series best decision was to NOT go the way of realism instead they lean into the games logic. For example The needle lucy uses is a stimpac and it restores your health. The Brotherhood is a religious order based on historical knights like the Templars. All of the brotherhoods Tech is prewar. Whats the Enclave? The biggest a-holes in the fallout universe thats who. The baby doll leg came from a weapon called a junk jet which can fire anything you can find. The Ghoul is indeed the cowboy from the beginning.
Such a cool concept! I hear people saying retro futurism and it definitely creates an interesting aesthetic. I loved moments that felt like it could be out of a video game, like Lucy using a stimpac to restore her health. Can practically see the heart bar fill up on screen 😂 Thanks for the tidbits of info ✨😊
So here's an interesting connection. You mentioned that the show reminded you of Silo. Kyle McLachlan portrayed Paul Atreides in an earlier Dune film. Rebecca Ferguson, who was in Silo, portrayed Paul's mother in the newest Dune film.
Hello Kanpai, How was your day, everything okay? I remember when I saw your first reaction video for your TH-cam channel. I liked it a lot and I enjoyed it to the fullest. Also now I am really liking the video. You also deserve to have many successes and followers on the channel 🥰💖✨

Oh very good point! The Silo books I believe came out around 2011, so Fallout definitely is the predecessor here ✨😅💖
I just started watching your fallout videos and I really like how you put the real life locations of landmarks
Glad they’re appreciated! 😁✨💖
I added them to this updated version of episode 1 since I’ve been including them in the subsequent episodes 🌍

Hats off for this. nice to see you learning things on the fly, makes life so much more colorful don't it? Enjoyed it, just as the first time! :D
Yes it does! Thanks so much 😊✨

Whoa! 🤯 That’s crazy. I love that there’s a side quest to get an instrument in the game. Nice observation and thanks for the game tidbits ✨

The Brotherhood toilet situation bothers the heck out of me. Have they never heard of the age old method of digging a hole?
