    I rescued an identical KENNEDY machinists tool base cabinet from a guy who was picking up scrap metal from the curb before the following day's bulk pickup.
    Traded it for a few empty propane tanks and a few steel rims that were bent.

    Somebody gave me this same compressor. Im definitely going to change the pressure switch and plastic tubing when it breaks breaks. Mine leaks oil like crazy but hey it was free. Great video, great information don't understand why all the negative comments. This guy is just trying to offer free advice, hes old, wise and has probably been fixing things long before the internet was invented.

    I read your comment about who you are. I recently a stent placed in my widow maker. I’ve been very blessed with how well I recovered. My cardiologist said it was basically 100% blocked. Any way I’ve been needing to repair my compressor for at least 2 years. I am coming back to get all the information to repair mine. Thanks and God bless.

    Very good! I have same model & will be fixing. I need a new fan blade as one or two vanes busted off. Hate that plastic crossover tubing! Thanks for part numbers too!!!!

    Just so you know, they have an automatic drain that bleeds the water out then shuts off. This you can find at Harbor Freight. I highly recommend it for any tank on a home compressor. Set a catch pan under it if you don't want dribbles on the floor.

    I saw a video on this compressor where the guy that made it said you can' only take one tire off with this compressor 21 gal and then you have to wait minutes for the pressure to build to take another tire off. IS this true? If so this is a weak compressor isn't it? I was going to get the 29gal one at Harbor Freight to avoid the issues. What do you think?

    • @TheBrokenLife
      @TheBrokenLife 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +David DeRoche That's not at all true... I've had this exact compressor for close to 10 years now. and if you have a decent impact gun, and ditch the stock regulator (which is total crap), it will remove tires no problem.
      Source: I have the current top of the line IR 2235TIMAX impact gun, and when in free wheel (meaning no load, meaning the impact gun is eating all of the air that can possibly flow through it) it takes about 30 seconds of laying on the trigger before my tank pressure goes from 120psi to 80psi (when the compressor turns on). In normal use this compressor will keep up with my "monster" impact without issue.
      That said... This is $150 air compressor. It's about as good as it gets at that price.

      +Maxwelhse What regulator are you using with it?

    • @TheBrokenLife
      @TheBrokenLife 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not using any regulator at all at the moment. Just running straight tank pressure.

      +David DeRoche As far as I know I have not had that experience. This compressor has worked flawlessly this the posted update. Harbor Freight items give you generally what you pay for, so some repair or maintenance will always be waiting in the future. Northern Tools sometimes make a better version, you just have to wait for the sales.

      I know this is too late for you, but it may help others. My Harbor Freight in Modesto, CA is very good about giving you a new "thing" for the old "thing" if it breaks or wears out in less than a year. Not only have I taken a couple of things back for exchange, I have seen them take care of others as well. Two thumbs up for this store!

    I appreciate this informative video. However, when the rain got heavy it became very difficult to hear you. Please consider this when making your videos, so that your viewers can follow your wise advise more easily. Thanks.
    BTW: I have the exact same sandals as you. Hope to find a replacement that are even half as comfortable. :)

    Why didn't you just use you warranty and get a new one instead of the hassle.

      GREG GUITARS LLC PLUS, focus, focus, focus. What was the ultimate purpose of this video foray. I started to nod off!

    • @TheBrokenLife
      @TheBrokenLife 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Alfonso Gonzales Because he's a total moron... The only thing I see going on that is worth doing on that compressor is the good regulator and filter at the end of its output. Then he screwed that all up by putting a coiled hose on it that eats impact pressure like crazy.... Ignore this video.

    • @SaxophoneHitman008

      +Maxwelhse Agreed!

    • @gmwooster
      @gmwooster  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Alfonso Gonzales Because the warrantee had expired a long time ago, and besides the metal tude, not plastic was a permanent fix, and the switch was also a better upgrade than the original.

    if you have to upgrade parts on this compressor after 6 months i would rather spend a extra 50 bucks and get a husky thats crap

    gwooster: It always interests me as to what people say in the comments. I made this video quite sometime ago.. I never edit my videos. They are done on the fly and as I have the time, and are not meant to be especially pretty or perfect, but just to give the information you need.. If you don't like how it is delivered keep it to your self. I am 74 years old, very busy, and don't have a lot of time for the afore mentioned. I have fixed thousands of things over the years from soup to nuts, and even sinks. The filter system on this unit I don't remember where I got it from. My aim is to pay back in some small way with videos that will get you back up and running, but not necessarily entertain you. If it worked for you , I am glad. I come to TH-cam quite regularily, for the same purpose as quite a few men, when they have an issue they don't quite understand or want to share if they have an answer that they believe will help. May God Bless as Red Skelton would say, and try to smile more often. Yes I am a grandpa of 9 and great grandpa of 3 soon to be 4. So now you know much more than you needed to know about the author of this video. I am also a baker. I am a retired Invasive Cardiovascular Technician in the field of Interventional Cardiology( the guys the put the stents in your heart arteries). Have a great day.

      You tell em ! It is too bad that some people's mothers did not teach them "If you don't have something constructive to say, just keep your mouth shut". I really appreciate your taking the time to make the vid. It was a BIG help. May God bless.
