1. Check your thermostat and ensure it’s in a “cool” mode
2. Check your outdoor unit and make sure it is not obstructed
3. Check the fuse/breaker box and ensure it is in the “on” position
4. Check the disconnect switch and make sure it is in the “on” position
5. Check the furnace blower motor and ensure it is running properly

Thanks to this video, I fixed my unit for $20 and called no one. My wife made a call and was told "you may have a freon issue" nope! Thanks!

Thank you! I checked all these things you listed and realized they turned off the switch on the furnace when they changed the filter.
Don’t forget to check your thermostat batteries

$200 if the AC guy is honest. It cost us $900 for them to fill up the coolant. Nothing else was done.

I did just that reset the black button and removed the batteries for a minute. Still the AC won’t turn on. Any idea what to check? Note the AC was working , I tried to fix heater that won’t turn on . I used a piece of wire on the controller to see if maybe the heater will start if I use a wire no start ( heater) now both the AC AND HEATER WONT TURN ON. I might have shorted something when I used a jumper wire?
Silicon Valley engineer I thought u might be able to help me. I just want to fix my AC RIGHT NOW . AC was working until I tried to fix the heater . I might have shorted something in the air handler . What happend I used a paper clip to bypass the thermosthat . To see if the heater will start( nothing) I stop from there but now the AC. Won’t turn on as well. Is there a fuse in the air handler that might have blown? Condenser won’t run as well ( the outside)
None of that help me I get power to ac unit I change the capacitor I guess thermostat my be the last thing

I have a brand new AC unit just put in everything is on but the unit is not kicking on outside any suggestions there is freon and there is power

After a storm last wk and the power flickered, the unit no longer cools. When I turn the unit back on at the switch, should the thermometer be on or off to let the unit reset itself for 15 minutes?
I have two split units, which works with one outdoor unit, one split unit works well but the second does not turn on with remote, can anybody help me ?????
All of these have checked off...but A/C will not turn on outside. It worked for a day and then Fritz.....
The outside box doesn't have any fuses where else can I find them ?
My problem is that the actule unit isn’t turning on.
I do have a question I got my AC installed last year and now it won’t turn on and it does not have a filter slot , I was wondering if it’s suppose to have a filter and where would it be? When I turn on my AC it turns on and air comes out but it’s not cold enough to make my house a decent temp. And I checked out side the AC unit was not running so I assumed that was the fan

Same issue fixed by changing one of the fuses in the disconnect box. It happened last year too. I changed it both times and both times the AC came back on. I don't know why the fuses are blowing though. Other video comment says it could be overheated (it's over 100 this week) or a power surge. I hope it is one of those and not a short in the compressor.
My AC was working fine yesterday and then just stopped last night. We tried the switch outside, it worked for 5 mins. So I know it's not the fuse. But we did have the annual maintenance this week and everything seemed to work fine. And then yesterday, this happened. I will check the fuse box anyway.
I wouldn't trust the guy who did your annual maintenance if you are now having problems. Could be a mistake by him or worse.
My Thermostat has been glitching so I replaced it, and it looks to be working but my AC has not kicked on.I checked my breaker box and it was fine but when I went to check the disconnect switch is off, but it will not stay in the “on” position when i flip the switch. How can i fix this.
My ac does not turn on right away when I start it . Later when I tried again it started, once it started it is not turning off . So I shut it off . Now when I try to turn it on it’s not turning on
I was to call a repair man cause just knew my unit was supposed to click on💁💁💁 when he said to make sure the temp on thermostat waa lower than in the house and I realized I was raising mines😂😂
