Hello Andy enjoyed the video. Just a quickie on the Max. It has what Wilson are calling a Flipable weight. So the single weight cartridge has an offset weight which can be place either left or right of the club centre to tune in your desired flight. Looking forward to the Iron review.
Nice video. Well explained. Do you not find it off-putting, standing half on and half off the mat? Mind you, you still managed to swing the club and hit the ball very well.
Great review Andy, I hav e been eager to see the new Dynapwr line up and looks wise they don't disappoint. I have the previous version which is a great stick but I will have to get a test spin with these guys.
It’s odd because I like that shaft but always feel it’s about shaft and head combination and they differ from driver to driver, certainly feel this could be resolved with a different shaft and tweaks in loft and lie
@@TheAverageGolfer I’m curious on the Carbon if you would have swapped the weights front to back with original loft, if heavy weight in back would have increased your spin. Isn’t 8 degree loft kind of low to be sending out for a test club?
It would appear it would’ve been much better if you had a 10.5° loft driver to test and likely a few options for shafts. Many other TH-camrs that have tested this driver are getting phenomenal results, and some of them from around 94 to 95 mph clubhead speed. I can remember within the last couple of years you testing some drivers you carried 236 to 241 yards. And rolled out to over 260. Even going back to the Callaway.Epic Max and Speed drivers from 2021 You were getting better performance overall. These definitely are the best looking Wilson drivers ever, and I think if they were specked up to suit you 100% I think the numbers could increase by at least 10 yards. Great… Sorry to see that they didn’t suit, but I think 8° driver lofted up still is not ideal.
@wessims3412 one point I would like to clarify….the distances you reference were recorded with Trackman hitting out into a range which I believe is more accurate than into a sim. 👍
These Wilson drivers do look nice but they were not a good fit at all for your swing as both the spin and peak height were much too low to produce anything like optimum numbers for you, I understand that you weren't fit for these drivers but surely you had the sense to use a shaft which you had previously been fit into and have played previously otherwise this may explain why you constantly hit really high on the face and you weren't able to make any adjustments to correct this issue during your testing.
Wilson for some time has had good tech at a very competitive new price, but resale prices (in UK at least) are dreadful in my experience compared to the mainline brands - so get one you're going to keep!
Trackman appears to be reading in italics for spin which is estimated not measured. This always reads low for me. When RCT balls are used, it should measure the spin and I'm betting it will read higher. Think it estimates wrong due to the tendency for trackman to read dynamic loft way too low than it actually is
@TheAverageGolfer Yeah you did. Trackman reads dynamic loft way too low, so spin estimates are generally a lot lower than reality. I had the same issue and GC quad confirmed spin was way off (tested in same session)
@TheAverageGolfer That is true 🤣 enjoyed the review regardless, just might be worth retrying these on course or with a gc quad to see if your results are any better. Decent offering from wilson this year 👏
Wilson have been making great golf clubs for a long time and these drivers look no different, its very obvious that you were seeing super low spin numbers on many shots because you were hitting the driver face too high up and at your slow swing speed you are never going to be able to keep the ball in the air long enough to achieve optimum carry distances with such low spin, you could (and should) have either lowered your tee height and/or altered your ball position which would have almost certainly helped you strike much more in the centre of the club face, so I am mortified that as a golfer who has played for several years that you did not make these adjustments to optimise your strike location.
Would you be interested in purchasing my custom-fit clubs? I spent twice as much as retail for them and they are not suited for me at all. Custom fitting is only as good as the fitter you get, and many are trained to make money--not help you be a better golfer. Caveat emptor!

Another superb review, as always, Thanks andy.
Love my Wilson's.. good content.. carry on

Wilson has been bringing it strong the past few years.
They look so good do you think the shaft was a big factor for the spin like you say great drivers if fit properly
It’s odd because I like that shaft but always feel it’s about shaft and head combination and they differ from driver to driver, certainly feel this could be resolved with a different shaft and tweaks in loft and lie

Great product - if I wasn’t brand loyal I’d give them a look

Also please note club head speed in 2021 was 5/6 mph faster!! It really is an apples and oranges comparison
Looks wise, I actually prefer the Dynapower Titanium from last year. That minimalist matte black is hard to beat imho.

They make the best looking irons of any brand andy

This is discussed in the video Matthew and RCT balls are in use

@ yes definitely a low read but unfortunately if I try and explain that on YT everyone says it’s a cover up 😂 you can’t win

I hit it at a local golf shot . Nice looking but didn’t work for me.
