I already bought it and waiting for it to arrive but about this time system.
Can I compare it to the time system in Trillion? Since in that game you had to grind constantly too and only had a limited time to prepare.

Nice you went over the gameplay/combat and voice actors/writing,
But didn't really cover the story, i was curious of Sega Hard girls being in a "CROSSOVER" is the theme on the cover.

This is disappointing as Megadimension Neptunia VII was amazing. That said I didn't expect much from a spin off and it's actually better than what I was expecting and I always was a sucker for this series anyway.
This game looks better than MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune VS Zombies because that game was so dull when compared to Action Unleashed which I enjoyed.

More cursing=Hilarious
Opening=God Tier
New Additions=Alright
Plot=Pretty okay
Time system=Unique and pretty enjoyable
Basically the same dungeons=Good because it makes my life easier.
Battle Systems=Its okay
Serious tone=Makes for more cursing, meaning more hilarity.
God Eater=Lowkey triggered at difficulty
Graphics=I can barely tell, and I don't care much anyway.
Removal of Blanc, Vert, and Noire=Okay with it because I like the other CPUs more
Monsters=A bit bothered at the lack of diversity
Overall opinion=8.8/10. While I really enjoyed the game, it had some issues. It lacked almost every character from the HDN games save the Planeptune CPUs and IF, which bothered me. Another major issue I have is IFs transformation. They basically added it in with no real explanation. Its cool, but I'd much rather earn it instead of getting it right off the bat. The only major problem for me is that the bad ending wasn't really bad. I mean, I didn't want Conquest Ending levels of bad, but it was a little anticlimactic.

I enjoyed this game because of the characters. Seriously! I want all these new characters and forms to appear in a main role in the next main stream Hyper dimension game. That and all the old characters too, imagine 4+ Neptunes in one place.

I love the Neptunia series and have bought every game so far... might wait for this one to go on sale though. Graphics don't bother me too much, it's always been a bit retro looking which actually suits the series but the new mechanics sound a bit questionable!

Chrono trigger had a time travel system and it was still freaking amazing. Chrono trigger is extremley repetitive if you want to get all 13 endings you have to use new game + and it is exteremly satysfing to be able to one shot the first 7 bosses in your first new game plus run

I just wanted a game with the SEGA Hard Girls, not having the traditional Superdimension Neptune custom combo gameplay was a bonus because I never liked it. Mind you, I do hate how the SP meter can't get refill any other ways.

6:30 its the framerate thats the issue, not the graphics. i believe its running at 20-25fps on average. Also if u look closely the characters have a slight cell shading vs previous games, the two combined make it FEEL like it looks worse when really if u can look past that IMO it looks slightly better

And that's compared to the original rebirth. Comparing it to megadimension or even other spinoffs it'd be much worse. Generally, the graphics have gotten slightly better.

Red's 3rd Dimension Gaming I think the reason the framerate is trash is because they are using a new temporary engine for this game. If i had to guess it seems like its a modified version of the engine used for VII considering the quality of the little intro in the opening scene of the game. As you know VII wasnt ported over to the vita and I dont believe they officially said why, If i had to guess its a mix of miscommunication and time constraints.
Recently IF confirmed that the next neptunia game will be running on the unreal engine 4 via twitter. This is great, as a UE4 developer myself (I tinker around with it in my free time) I know from experience the flexibility and quality of the engine is great. We can see from the progression between the rebirth games that there were obvious improvements to the engine over time and considering the release schedule (they released all 3 rebirth games within a 1 1/2 year span) and then waited a entire year before releasing VII while releasing a few spinoffs by other devs in the mean time. This leads me to conclude that they MASSIVELY updated the engine to include more features but the engine wasnt finished for vita support in time for VII's release. The miscommunication comes in the fact that they are licensing UE4 for the next game, they most likely began development of superdimension neptune during talks of licensing and since its such a small studio they need to have their devs constantly working so they said **** it lets make SHG on the old engine and put it on the vita. Now that its confirmed that they are using UE4 that means the talks are over and they are likely already developing the next game as we speak and they probably finished talks near the end of the development cycle for SHG meaning that rather than spend the end cycle on ironing out the remaining optimization issues with porting it to the vita they would rather start working on UE4 and just make sure the game is playable. In order to hide the framerate issues and make it seem like they massively redid the graphics they added some slight cell shading and reworked the camera
In short thats the most likely reason why the game isnt that optimized. If u really want there is a way to overclock ur vita to get better performance btw

I feel confused when you say 'worst Neptunia game'. I feel like HyperDevotion Noire and PP were worse than SuperDimension vs Sega Hard Girls. Largely because well, the dating aspect. It feels like it kind of overshadows the game's gameplay to begin with. And while yes, the gameplay isn't as good as Re;Birth 1, it's a spin off game. It's not supposed to be the exact same as the main series.
Aside from defending SegaHardGirls, PP's idol system is at best confusing in terms of what you actually have to do to get the best rank for that. And HyperDevotion Noire had similar issues to this game in terms of combat, but whereas that game is a strategy RPG with a bad single protagonist, we get at least, okay gameplay with better dual protagonists.
Needless to say Neptune vs SHG is not a perfect game, could definitely pass for good but I think that PP and Noire deserve better because at least SHG has better protagonists and a well understood gameplay.

I get where you're coming from but the Noire game was pretty good imo. I'm a fan of Strategic jrpg games like Disgaea series and after playing Noire, it did a pretty decent job for a first Nep strategy jrpg..The role of secretary only affects the story and not the gameplay btw, although i do dislike the fact that they added the secretary in the game..

Pcuspard ppl hate the game cause their yuri fantasy is being broken by the secretary that is all. It is simple, I dont mind about the secretary cause I dont give a fck about yuri in the gane and everything is not as bad as they claimed

They just used the old baby bug model from re;birth 3 and victory. Then again they have the newer model from the other new games. I guess there's not much of an excuse on that but oh well.

hm, there are lots of neptunia games. but the 1st few were received quite poorly by the players so they remade the series. for this game you dont really need to have played/seen the other stories since this is not going along with the story. i do recommend you watching walkthroughs from hyperdimension re:birth 1, 2 and 3 as well as megadimension VII (victory 2). those will give you enough info you need to completely follow the story since all the godesses are featured in those games and given a bit of a backstory on their personalities. (even if it seems it would take to much time i assure you its worth watching these games 1st)

Red's 3rd Dimension Gaming not rly. I find it to be a bit annoying since once u get to the end game all u do is spam the strong attacks over and over. The combo creation in the original neptunia (while confusing) makes sense since it works on a cost-reward basis in that the more action points spent generally the more powerful the attack but the less of them u can do. Having 4 attacks that are preset in a menu and that arent that drastically different from eachother rly isnt creating combos. If u spend like 20-30 minutes making a combo i guess it can help but it locks you in to 1 moveset that is only slightly better than just spamming the powerful attacks. This system feels like its inspired from the original in that there is a cost-reward system which is great game design. They could have added more depth and strategy to it but i like where its going and knowing IF and CH they will probably build upon it in the future

I bought the limited edition of this game, and I have to agree on the battle system ordeal.
it's so much worse.
but I can play neptunia on the go (all the other games I have on steam) but honestly you get used to the system (cuz you have to).
The new system is a lot harder and actually requires some intense strategy sometimes but the old system was just quicker and more fun, less strats required.
Its not the worst in the series, and I still enjoy the title.

This is a goddamn shame. I love the Neptune series, but if they don't stop rehashing the same assets in literally the exact same way, I don't know if I can support them. It feels very lazy and rushed, probably due to the large number of games IF produces each year. MDNVII was a decent change, but was still slightly underwhelming imo. I wished they didn't feel so rushed and would work on a more solid series title than what they've been putting out recently.

I can't tell the graphics apart because of my shitty tablet. I heard the original Vita has a better screen. Is that true?? Also, will PS TV have the same graphics as the Vita it self?? I plan on buying this game.

the 1st generation ps vita does indeed have a better screen due to it being a OLED; brighter and sharper. second generation uses LED; dull washed out colors.
the ps tv is basically a ps vita console like how the super gameboy was. a lot of games aren't compatible with it due to not being able to use the touch screen/pad fully.

red I have to wonder if you really took the time to understand the battle system for this game or did you just make the choice between using parts of the action bar or all of the action bar you can do both to extend the amount of hits you get on the enemy also fever time is best used for spamming exe moves and party formations help as well. Further the whole time thing with the game is not that bad you do not need to worry about all the side quest in the beginning and if done properly you can complete all quest and make the final boss easier or if you over leveled you can make it so the final boss is a challange I had played the Japanese version before the eng release and there was a point in the game where i had to skip turns just to let base boss beat me so I could get true ending without killing boss to early this game has a lot more in the battle system that you can take advantage of to make fights more enjoyable. Also visually and gameplay-wise this game is not the worst and although I still like the very first neptunia game on ps3 I can not play it for to long with how bad it looks now compared to new releases and how annoying it is to not be able to save mid dungeon because I can remember it use to piss me off when you get really far in a high level dungeon and die just to start at the beginning again so before you say its the worse try and play the original again.

Whoever that is must be very mistaken and maybe they aren't very critical. I try to give my honest and unbiased opinion on these games. Some reviewers will just say everything is perfect and I don't like that style of reviewing.
