- Recently, the Western Cape High Court directed Discovery Limited to deduct more than R29 000 from a client's existing retirement annuity funds. This is after he defaulted on paying child maintenance for his three minor children since late last year. This case has yet again brought to the fore the challenges faced by many South African parents in the process of applying and lodging a maintenance claim. To talk more about this and what the law says in relation to paying child maintenance, we are joined virtually by Seehaam Samaai, Director at the Women's Legal Centre.

If you are not living with the children you cannot talk about equal contribution raising kids alone is a full time job . If you are given the responsibility of raising the kids let's see if you will still talk about equal contributions.
Write to discovery so and tell them that u will cancel if it's true n u will encourage all ur friends to cancel

Absurd. You attach the father's car - how is he going to get to and from work, how is he going to see his kids? You attach his assets - where is he going to live in order to work in order to pay maintenance in future when those funds run out? Utterly unreasonable system, totally biased towards mothers. The law is the bluntest instrument. Gents, get a vasectomy ASAP. Children ruin lives.
When the father has those assets and still not maintaining...That's Absurd too.
But this is not fair for the fathers.how do you know if your money is used to maintain your child.we all know that baby mothers use this money for their own benefits. How do we go about that.

Get the school' s bank account number to pay the school fees. Open a store account & buy them clothes & take them to doctors appointments & pay the bill yourself, take them to school & pick them up after. That way you'll see where your money goes 💰

My baby dadd he had a court order started not paying in time , followed by paying not full payment , from January 2023 didn't pay a cent till September where gunish order implemented and now he want me in court to reduce maintenance is it really possible

Withdraw all your money, stash it somewhere, sell everything u own n stash the money, smile at her while u retire n when u have all ur money stashed then go make lots of debt u cnt pay and put her as surety.
