OMG this reminds me of the Brunswick stew I always got growing up from a bbq place called Smithfield’s. I grew up on the east coast of NC in Jacksonville and I absolutely LOVE that stuff. Going to visit my dad in November and I’m definitely getting some. In the meantime I’m going to try this recipe!
Mandy sweet, I did the creamy sausage potato soup over the weekend, my hubby and in-laws loved it. Thank you so very much for the recipe. Have a wonderful day 😊
I live with my dad to take care of him and We love watching your videos and trying the recipes you make! My dad and I love soups and crockpot meals so I will definitely be making these soon!
You exude much joy in your posts Mandy. Even if videos are helpful they are not always enjoyable to view, but yours are both informative and uplifting. My daughter-in-law is a North Carolinian and we love the southern accent but it is also your personality that is just so cute and upbeat. Blessings to you all.❤️
I ordered the shredder like she uses, it really does anchor itself to a flat, clean surface. I was overly impressed that it actually did not come loose, in addition, it shredded excellently.
your famiy dynamic is really special to me because like Cole I'm an only child too - and the closeness / tight knitness of your family warms my heart and reminds me of my own!!
Yummy! They all looked delish. I very rarely have buttermilk on hand, so when I make biscuits or cornbread or anything that calls for buttermilk, I make my own. Super simple. 1 tbsp of vinegar to one cup of milk. You can also use one tbsp of lemon juice to one cup milk. Just place it in fridge for like 5 min and vio-la buttermilk.
First video I've ever come across from you, and not only do I enjoy your personality, but your recipes also look delish! Just had to subscribe! I am ALWAYS looking for new recipe ideas for my family and that andouille sausage recipe seems perfect for dinner tonight!
I love buttermilk with cornbread but if I don't have buttermilk I use regular milk it is so good. Corn bread is the best go to bread for any meal. I love how your family is really in to all the good southern foods iui have seen people that live in Tennessee don't cook southern food they like Amish food alot of times. My family is from Tennessee but I live in Pennsylvania and I'm not far from the Amish and they do have alot of really good food but I'm still a southern food gal. Lol
Cole is such a handsome young man. I love that your real. Cole wasn't so much into the first recipe and that was fine. God continue to bless you and your family ❤️🙏❤️😃
Thanks for sharing! Always looking for good crockpot soups, especially on those chilly days. Love the bloopers and love, love your channel. Have a great weekend!🥰
Mandy!! You can make buttermilk by adding a slash of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice to a cup of regular milk. Just let it sit on the counter for a bit before using.
My family typically is not a crock pot family! I used to make them all of the time because it was easy to put them on in the morning and when you got home from work in the evening wala dinner was served! I think my favorite was the potatoe chowder one or the second one that you showed! I have a fantastic Bavarian potato soup that my family loves! But is very basic I am going to try this one! thanks mandy so much for sharing! xoxo
Love your cooking, soups look delicious, but I wait to see Stevens reaction and Coles thumbs up or not, lol! Your bloopers are a riot!!! You’re a fun family...Cole with the blue glove..... Awesome dishes today and love you, your channel and your guys. And can’t forget your “kitty”. Awwww! Have a fantastic day..... Ambers dishes were delicious also.
Another WINNER VIDEO! Soup is my favorite thing both to cook and to eat. Last night made veg with some leftover Italian beef from sandwiches. I BOUGHT THE MENU BOARD for my fridge and love it. It saves me a lot of anxiety about meal planning. I write it on the menu, shop accordingly, and it's like the 10 commandments. I don't mess with it. You made it look so easy because it really is! Thank you!
Wow! I am going to try all 3- first the Brunswick stew. I screenshot the recipe and made it a pin on Pinterest. Think I might fall in love with that chipotle sauce!! Thanks, Maddie
The Chicken Brunswick sounds amazing..I'm just down HWY 25 from Hendersonville and I love this area. So glad she sent this recipe..will try it over the weekend
Thanks so much for crockpot soups. The Brunswick stew brought back memories of my childhood. My sweet 8th grade home economics teacher (over 40 plus years ago) marked my answer wrong on a test regarding Brunswick stew. The question said “traditionally Brunswick stew is made with what meats?” I answered squirrel or rabbit or opposum. That is what my grandmother put in hers. I had to prove to my sweet teacher that I was right. The encyclopedia verified my correct answer. The key word being “traditionally”. Most Brunswick stew is now made with both chicken & pork.
glad gracie is okay! we recently had to take one of our cats to the vet but he was not so lucky and we had to put him down.... on the bright side these meals look delicious i am going to the store in just a few minutes so i can make that sausage and potato soup for my fiancé tonight, thanks for the inspiration to help me get back to my normal routine after a tough loss
I love home made soups….they are just so comforting. I like to freeze the extra soup too or give it to a friend to save her having to cook one night…..or to someone in need who is going through a hard time. Still loving your channel!❤
I have tried a lot of your recipes and they are so good you are my favorite that I watch all the time thank you Mandy it's a godsend for your help thank you so much❤😊
Making the Creamy Sausage and Potato Soup right now for dinner tonight and tomorrow we're doing the Brunswick Stew one! So excited to try these recipes for these cold nights!
This is my first time seeing your videos. I absolutely love soups in the fall! They are great to put in a thermos when going on a hike to enjoy the beauty of fall here in the upstate. I'm from Greer.
I make my Brunswick stew with bacon, chicken, frozen lima beans, frozen corn, onions, garlic and potatoes. We use Scott's bbq sauce. ❤ from Seven Springs, NC
I found you by accident a few weeks ago and have been watching schedule is so I went ahead and subscribed. I definitely want to try that sausage and potato soup. I enjoy seeing the reactions and listening to the opinions of your husband and son. Love your kitty cat too.
Love easy soups and crockpot soups even better. Girl sour your own milk 1 cup milk to 1 tablespoon of acid. (white vinegar, lemon juice) but wait.... I always have buttermilk powder in my pantry. (look for it in the baking aisle). Keep on cooking.💜
We love your content for meal ideas! That sausage orzo soup you shared in one video is one of our favorites!! Love Steven's reactions. I try to predict if he is going to say, "oh wow!" 😂
Mandy, I have tried to find other what's for dinner channels in addition to your channel. I have yet to find another that I want to follow. You always have great recipes and you make it look easy enough for me to try! The lighting in your very clean kitchen is amazing so I can see the ingredients and watch you cook. I found the vegetable chopper so I am even adding more veggies when I cook. I have enjoyed your library of videos so keep them coming. Thank you for sharing!
Goooood FriYAY morning Mandy!! Yessss I love my Crock-Pot and soups, chili's, stews, and etc. All 3 sound and look delicious. I'm excited to try all 3. My Granny loved buttermilk and cornbread or bread. She lived to be 94. Hope y'all have a great day and weekend. See y'all next Friday. Stay safe and healthy. God bless. PS headed over to Amber's channel after this. Love checking out other TH-camr's who love making delicious food.
Soups look great you're such a wonderful cook and I just love that your husband is very supportive of your cooking and he loves to eat your your food. So wonderful have a supportive husband, it encourages even more to do what you're doing. God bless you and your family.
My mom used to make a buttermilk ‘substitute’ by using a cup of regular milk and adding a teaspoon of either vinegar or lemon juice, then she’d leave it sit out for like a half hour or whatever, then use it in her recipes!
Potato soup is my all time favorite!! So far pioneer women’s is my favorite (I add smoked sausage as well) but I will still definitely try this one too!
The potato soup would be good if you add shrimp or crawfish, it makes it almost like a crawfish/shrimp boil soup! We make it all the time with left overs from a boil!
Mandy I always make my own buttermilk very easy, one cup whole milk and 1 tablespoon vinegar let set for 5 minutes. I got this from an old cookbook that my grandma gave me years ago. It had a page in it for substitutes, a lot of great ones.
Hi Mandy. I'm new to your channel and have to tell you that you are adorable and I love how you explain things ... and get a little silly, too cute. Anyway I am on the keto diet so I can't follow your recipes exactly but I get a nice base idea from you and then I keto it up. I am making this sausage soup (Jimmy Dean roll of hot) right now and I can't have potatoes so I'm just adding okra (its the only frozen veggie that I had on hand that I'm allowed to have) and hoping for the best. Thanks for sharing!
Love crockpot recipes as that's how I make most of my meals since I don't have a stove right now! These look delicious! Also tell Cole I almost spit my coffee laughing when he snuck behind you and snapped his blue rubber glove! He's got good comedic timing! 😁
My PaPa did the cornbread buttermilk thing. Cornbread would have gone so well. You could have subbed the other cup of buttermilk with whole milk and lemon juice or vinegar. Glad Gracie is better. All the soups look great! Glad the boys liked them. A hug in a bowl. Love soups!
Oh, Mandy bless my heart. I’ve been watching for over a year and just realized I wasn’t subscribed. I think I watch so many of your videos they just pop up in my feed. I just love your channel because I feel like you are so relatable and I can get a good feel of the recipes just watching your step by step process. Keep up the great work!!

Yes we definitely did!! Can't wait to have the half we froze, too! Thank you for sharing!!

I saw your comment and that’s what I was going to say. I’ve done this for years because I don’t like buttermilk
Or lemon juice...
That’s what my mama used to do.

Hahah, it was so cute when Cole stepped into the camera with his glove lol
LOL he's a mess.
I literally laughed out loud when he popped that glove
I laughed too!
You can make buttermilk with regular milk and a splash of vinegar. So easy! Or, yogurt is a great sub. Gonna try these recipes!
