"43.9% Employee Turnover. Lowest since 2017!"
Dear Lord how horrifying.
That’s a sure sign you don’t want to work there.
What horrifies me is that > 50% need longer than a year before starting to run...
There should be fines for shit like that. If your turnover is beyond a certain point, there's clearly some sort of abuse going on.
1, 2, 3, Abstrakt!
Gee sounds familiar.
"They treated leaving as a sign of betrayal." Wow. Many years ago I worked for a restaurant chain. They had dozens of locations, as well as hotels and other real estate interests. Not a billion dollar company, but definitely successful, and I was about to go into their management training course before I changed my mind and left. On my last day, the owner came in, and I told him that I was leaving to pursue my career doing what I really wanted to do. His response? "Good. You're better than this place."
Sounds like a good guy, you should stay in contact
This is the kind of person who leads and doesn’t manage. Leaders want to help get their employees where they want to go, not keep them roped in to make you money
I'll bet they don't consider laying off employees to be a similar betrayal, though
Hey buddy, if I'm working for your company and I have something on the side, I have bad news for you... YOU'RE THE SIDE HUSTLE!
💯
Exactly!!!😂
The part about “not knowing what to do” about passion projects is so disgusting.
Best comment of the day!!!!
Why would anyone sell their soul?
Putting the cult in corporate culture.
1 2 3 .......ABSTRAKT BAY BAY WOO HOO YEAH!!!!!
Funny thing is Scott literally said this proudly in one of the quarterly meetings as if he just came up with something extremely clever. He loved how cult was in the word culture and motivated us to own it…
That CEO sounds like one of the freshman year engineers who couldn’t handle engineering school, dropped out, and went to the business school across the street.
I doubt it. I've had the unfortunate "pleasure" of knowing a few of his type, usually they come from rich parents straight into business school. Anything else would be "below them". If they somehow find the minuscule work ethic required to make it through business school, they go straight out to either work in parents company and drive it into the ground (to the extent they can), or continually burn parents money operating frat parties thinly veiled as businesses.
Jesus, you can’t have a side hustle and you can’t say you’re looking for work when you literally need a job to survive in this world lol. This right here is why CEOS often don’t get a lot of respect from me. They are so toxic to their employees that literally make THEM money! Let’s keep it real, there is no company without the hard work of the employees, period. On top of that, how disgusting of a person do you have to be to write how “unprofessional” a former employees post was and possibly get him blacklisted from getting another job. That is just pure evil. Because let’s face it, it doesn’t matter what the employee would of said if your old boss says stuff like that about you then that can have a huge impact on your ability to get rehired somewhere else. This is straight up unethical retaliation!
Really great comment. I wonder if the prior employee has a discrimination case with that post. He should hire an employment lawyer.
Side hustles are a symptom of being under paid. Don't want employees to have them increase their pay.
Dam right you better accept what we tell you are worth and deal with it 😂 these people are sick.
Even that wouldn't work because many people have interests in which they can make some extra money no matter how much their work pays them.
@@KuptisOriginal Right? Some of these employers need to realize they weren't the 1st choice for a job and they're just a stepping stone.
Side hussle IS accepting your worth
it's addressing the market's needs through multiple avenues
Wanted to laugh, but realised i could spend tgat energy to get myself yet another stream of income. Brb, gotta some side gig to do
Wishing a good day fam 🌻
@@KuptisOriginal I’m already an over employed person. It for sure is money. As I was already doing what I liked in my free time and it was related to my work. Inflation plus bills equaled turning free time into paid time.
Had my pay kept up with inflation + 3% annual my hobby wouldnt have moved into job 2.
Why the hell would they leak their employees private information like this? Imagine giving out everyone’s name and birthdays publicly just to make it effortless for malicious actors to get all the data.
Huge GDPR violation
If ANYTHING happens to the exemployee as a result of making personal info public it could end up with incarceration.
Exactly!!
I HATE working in corporate America…
Me too it is shit 😂
I’m there with you. It’s poison to your soul. I’m working on an escape plan.
@@Actias1974 Just survived round 4 of layoffs these past 12 months. While I’m thankful, the mental exhaustion is palpable. Best of luck on that exit plan, brother.
Working in non-corporate America is not so great either.
@@TruckingForHermes Do tell, please. Been working white collar my entire adult life and in a soul sucking executive role going on 2 years now. How’s it on the other side?
Feel bad for that guy that was laid off. These companies don’t care. I hope his side hustle takes off. Great video again for spreading awareness, Josh. Thanks.
I hope the side hustle DOESN'T take off and instead a salary boost does.
He didn’t have side hustles since he followed the company advice like a good boy and only did the prescribed company side hustles 😂
That place is a cult...
It's a marketing firm. I'm not surprised.
I mean marketing is pretty much a nicer way of saying "lying and manipulation". Its not really a surprise they use it internally too
Nah. In a cult, the members want to be there.
just like every big tech companies
“I have yet to find a solution to reason number 2” passion projects aren’t a problem that need solving 💀
He is literally saying he is looking for a solution to his employees having hobbies or interests outside of work
Those passion projects don't make the company money. That's a problem.
Some employees also spend a lot of time and effort raising children, the CEO is looking in to solutions to this problem
They literally rated the supply closet for those gift baskets and then tossed the Stanley Cup in the middle. 🤣
That's exactly what I was thinking
"Raided", as in "Shadow Legends"
It happens
This was first shared in a Facebook group which mocks linkdin post such as this.
The members in the group, tore the CEO a new one before he deleted his account.
That "old husky British voice" is David Attenborough, not sure he'd approve...
Ik ai isn’t the devil but can’t get behind people who don’t consent for their voice to be used, it’d be different if it’s the creators voice.
@@cosmictraveler1146yeah it’s wild to me such an iconic recognizable voice can just be…stolen like that ☹️
Almost 44% employee turnover means you are a SHIT EMPLOYER, and ppl can't get away fast enough. 🤦
A raffle drawing for... more office supplies (and a Stanley tumbler)?
lmfao
yay.......
When you mentioned CEOs on LinkedIn, I knew things were going downhill...
Abstract!! lmfao! reminds me of when they say 'Zoltan' in Dude where's my car 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
6:05 it's not "swag" if you pay for it.
I work for a not for profit remote work company, so far I've been blessed, I work hard too because I feel appreciated, watching these videos I realize how lucky I am and that's why I work hard everyday
You know, a not for profit is the type of world I think we should live in. I don’t necessarily mean there shouldn’t be no profit, but enough to pay everybody a living wage, and some leftover for future investments in the companies. The idea that we “Must” have inflation is ridiculous, with greed being its main driver….
@@CitizenValvethis ongoing system of greedflation will honestly be the death of us. The lines can't keep going up forever.
@@ShooberTimber once they crash the rich twats at the top will take all the money they've been laundering, and abandon america leaving us average folks to pick up the peaces. Its a tale as old as time.
@@ShooberTimber I think after big crisis like wars etc prices drop again. I'm not much educated on that part tbh.
@@CitizenValve You should read about the history of capitalism. It started as a way to seek benefit to the people. Over time a few influential people morphed it into what it is today, a way to benefit the few.
A part of the original concept is that profit is an important part of creating a better ecosystem for everyone. As profit allows for evolution and improvement. What they didn't think about was how people would abuse the system. It's a shame really.
Point is that profit itself isn't the bad part. It's the mentality that's been created and promoted. By the kind of people like Joshua here for example, who believe a company's only purpose is to make profit and not to benefit the people.
4:32 The "old husky British guy" in the AI ad read is definitely David Attenborough. I wonder if he signed off on his voice being cannibalized by this program😅
This reminds me of the time I resigned from a job for a very legit opportunity. My boss was so insulted by my new opportunity that she instructed me to lie to my coworkers about why I was leaving and where I was going. It wasn't the only way she continued to act as if she was in control of something she wasn't in control of anymore, but I still laugh about how she treated me while I worked out my two weeks notice.
Omg that’s crazy!
I may be the only person in abstrakt history to not be fired once.. but twice. One of my proudest feats.
Kind of hypocritical advertising a product that is going to cost folks jobs...just saying
kind of hypocritical to only care about automation of labor when it impacts the profession of people you're parasocially attached to.
So they had an Office Olympics? And they gave away Stanley's cup? Do you think Stanley noticed? 😉
That raffle basket. Straight from the dollar store.
Nope, straight from their stationery drawer.
It’s so offensive, omg.
@@alexander1989xAbsolutely. I guess the overpriced cup is only expense.

04:53 if it can clone your own voice, then it means people can also use it to clone other peoples voices, i.e. youtubers voices, and use it for their own videos 😳
Winning stationary that you should be able to get from the stationary cupboard anyways 😂Oh I see they hope that you do even more work with your stationary. 😂This isn’t a company it’s a preschool!
David Attenborough saying "imo" and "if your employees are smiling, they're not working hard enough."
This Joshua Fluke guy, i like him ! Good content my guy
Can you not use AI?
Agreed. At least use Microsoft Sam to do the automated voices, so we know it is automated.
43% turnover rate is considered good.... 😐
Another great video, Joshua!! I love all of your videos!! Started watching your channel, since 2018!
Just when I think I've heard it all, these psychopaths surprise me with something they say. CEOs really think they're god 2.0
can you tone down the "AI" stuff?
I encourage you to not use AI voices... I believe AI defeats the message you stand for... I would very much rather hear your voice read the articles and posts instead.
He’s running a business too. The ai thing is to demo the sponsor. Everyone is a shill even Josh. Spectrum of shillyness is the difference.
Everywhere I go I just see AI hate. It's start getting really fucking old really fucking fast.
I encourage people to not use calculators for math and hire me to add numbers for them as well.
@@adamv6753ha ha ha ha, I’ll hire you. Epic.
What's his message?
I know I did not work at this specific company but that "cult" description almost perfectly describes a past job
One of the perks listed by one of the cult members was free parking and free shuttle service! That will keep the employees motivated.
Free parking is listed as a perk?
"Here's another perk of working here, you get to work inside a building!"
Looks like they already took down (I think) the March 2024 Company Meeting video...
That was fast🤣
Y’all see that sweet-ass gift basket?? This is better than kindergarten!!!
1,2,3… CRAB SAC!!
🦀💰
There is a epidemic of incompetence with these CEOs/VPs nowadays
Side hustle exist because fair wages dont
The side hustle usually is the primary craft but you can't afford to do it
When I worked at Sam's Club (corporate) they had a company chant. It was cringe as Hell.
That AI voice sounds too much like David Attenborough, and he is such an angel that hearing his voice say corporate CEO bullsh** hurt me just a little.
A person like me… is just… not going to chant the company’s name like that dude…. What are you going to do, fire me for not saying it …? Okay pal you go right on ahead…
My old boss was one of those "smelly nerds". He was not likeable, but he was a good boss. He cared about projects and actual work getting done. He would take work off our PM backs. He also created competitions with actual cash prizes (tax free) of up to a monthly salary. So if you actually worked a little harder you could easily earn 14-15 monthly salaries per year. The pay was not bad to begin with.
His only drawback was that he was a little paranoid about cybersecurity. On one famous occassion he asked us engineers if we could find a way to encrypt USB connections on local printers.
All in all not a bad boss.
Bro the abstrakt plan was literally a MLM
God forbid anyone have something passionate outside of work they want to work on LOL
4:36 from this point it is like a corporate Old Testament. Hilarious!
Advertising an AI program…..that will soon replace most of our jobs 😂
Saying that side hustles are "people want to make more money outside of work" really rubbed me in the wrong way. As someone who hasn't had a permanent, full-time job with benefits and everything since Covid happened, my "side hustles" aren't "money outside of work," b*tch. They ARE work. My work portfolio INCLUDES the time you pay me for, as well as the time other people pay me for. I realized that this past summer when someone at my 9-5 term contract job described my other work as a "side hustle"... I actually made WAY more money at my "side hustle" than my 9-5. The 9-5 was my "side hustle" 😆
This sounds almost exactly like a previous job of mine, place was a disgusting example of corporate toxicity being sold as professionalism
A pathetic company raids the supply closet for rewards...I'm not a simp, but my company at least tries to give us a small rewards. 3 PlayStation 5s, 2 xbox series xs and 4 switches, 2 laptops, 5 tvs and more at the christmas party raffle, with an open bar and all you can eat brisket. At max we have 30-40 out of 80 show up, so everyone normally walks out with something.
My hero.
The AI voice burns my ears
There’s nothing wrong with the AI voice stop whining
I was blindsided when I was laid off in January by a major health care provider. But I just started a new job and I'm making 40% more money. Didn't even realize I was underpaid.
4:44 that's David Attenborough's voice.
I am a trucker. Laying in the bunk of my semi, tired after long shift getting ready to sleep. God, I'm so glad I quit a corporate job a long time ago. They are evil and eating you alive from the inside.
Ai using David Attenborough voice is disrespectful af. I hope you won't be using it in the future
Every business needs to accept that they're the "side hustle" in their employee's lives. They are not the reason your employees live and breathe. They are a hand crank that gets spun because money comes out every ten rotations. Any business that tries to be your family, your life, or your god is run and managed by psychopaths, and you need to bail out of that as fast as humanly possible. What employees do in their free time is not their employer's business. You get one life on this earth, just one, and you should spend it with your family and on hobbies you enjoy, like skiing or writing or painting, and not fighting to be the best slave possible. Employers who understand that are the ones that will earn real loyalty.
I could never work with a bunch of losers faking interactions
Mixed feelings about the AI voicing the posts
Appreciate the research in this Josh!
That voice is Sir David Attenborough!
Some people say they thought the movie Office Space was a comedy, but turned out to be documentary. I am guessing CEOs and HR dweebs thought is was an instructional video, and figured out how to make Bill Lumbergh seem like not such a bad guy. Because apparently they also used Orwell's 1984, and Kafka's writings as an instruction manual.
CEO : i have amazing side hustle for you !! Go make me more money !!
Funny how they can't say "David Attenborough voice", so they say "Old husky British male voice"
There are literally zero other people that voice could be emulating 😆
What should we buy for the raffle? Just grab some things out of the office supplies room.
Pretty wild hearing David Attenborough’s voice being generated to fulfil that husky British requirement; or maybe he’s given up on natural history documentaries…
If companies don't want people to pursue side hustles, there's an easy solution. Pay more.
Half of all people that have side hustles do it because we love money!! Like me!! We don't need the money but we like having as much as we can get!!
That's creepy. Ladt time I worked corpo was 2015 and even then, the company I worked for had 1 team building per 3 years. That was it.
Another entertaining video. I still remember how your channel started.
The things companies do to avoid paying higher salaries...
The Husky british guy is david Attenborough lol
In my day, we worked 25 hours a day, 8 days a week, uphill in the snow both ways, And we liked it g** damn it!
Growth Creed sounds like the title some horror film.
we would not need a side hustle if you paid your staff a good wage
you know what chastizing someone for leaving a group is called? A cult.
I worked there for 3+ yrs. This has been going on for a long time
Previously companies did hire based on a skill set and previous experience. Now days they say "we can teach anyone do the job, so hire people with good "work culture"". And the work culture they mean is translated as "agree with everything and be positive" "no criticism" "work work work and hard work, but you also have to participate in the "fun office activities" "make sure to enforce the same culture with your behavior", and also I forgot "always improve yourself" cause god no if you want to just go do a job and get paid.
These videos make me realize that if you have really have no conscience it's easy to become rich.
Love your videos! Keep it up. I worked for a company that did this stuff...free popcorn and ice cream days...all the cringeworthy stuff. It was awful.
Idk saying the company name at the end of meeting isn't that weird imo. It's like how a sports team will break out of a huddle with their name. And like yeah, it's a work team, not a sports team, but I think it's still a team, and this is just team building stuff meant to be fun. It's fine.
So strange.
These are not the words of "leader," they are the words of a "bureaucratic manager."
Careful you don’t get sued for talking about this Jabroni 😅
That's right I still got 105 rounds left in my 45 capacity mag 😎
The only company you should work for is ones that help you be your best. It’s a win win. You produce and move on if it’s not your place and the people meant to be there will flourish with the company.
So said, solve a problem and invoice it, done😢
It’s none of his business. He let these people go. It’s none of his business.
I guess they also say “It’s Abstract time!”
2:22 God forbid people have a life outside of work.
any remote website jobs for non us citizens?? looking for a fulltime vacancy... thank you
Newsflash: if the hours are 8-5, you have no right to know what I do outside of those hours. It’s none of your business!
The kindergartenification of corporate america continues
Whenever I see people behaving like Scott Scully I think to myself, "Early Life and History".
the raffle was hilarious. looks like the guy just threw some excess stationary that his kids school was tossing out in a basket he found next to his neighbor's garbage pile.
I've heard of a lot of trash awards to pump companies up, but a company boasting that the best retention rate they have had in a long time is 1 out of 2 employees is a new category of ablazing dumpster of its own. Imagine a guy boasting he only gambles half his income away or a engineer boasting half the bridges she built are still standing after 1 year... Peak insanity.
