    I think the Minnesota Twins did pretty brilliantly at the trade deadline: They traded LaMonte Wade, Juan Minaya and Ildemaro Vargas to their Alternate Training Site for SOLID upgrades in Byron Buxton, Michael Pineda, and Josh Donaldson.

      The Padres have every potential of being this century's Red Sox. The Red Sox in the 20th century had some amazing teams, but never won a damn thing. Why? Because the Murderers Row Yankees were in the same division. The Padres have built a great team. Unfortunately, there is a better one in their division and that is the Dodgers.

      corey andreas they didn’t?first,Taylor Trammell is a prospect that has fallen of in recent years. Also, would you rather have one top prospect that has a chance of being bust via poor play or injuries or have multiple very decent ones that all have a shot at being everyday major league players, which means that reduces the chances of getting pretty much nothing back for the player you traded. also lower level prospects often become stars, prospect rankings matter but in the end they don’t really do as much as people believe

    You have no concept of how the Indians run their franchise and it shows. They couldn’t pay Clevinger after arbitration this season. Yeah they could’ve traded him in offseason but his numbers this year are wayyyy down, and it’s not like they need him to win the American league. If Naylor can hit even .250 that is an ENORMOUS upgrade for the worst outfield in the MLB and instantly makes them better everyday.

    Mike Clevinger has never been Cleveland’s Ace

    • @normanklein3155
      @normanklein3155 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, surprising how quickly Shane Bieber was overlooked. While Clevinger is a very good pitcher, he really hasn't contributed much to Cleveland's success this season. Between Clevinger and Plesac, I'd rather have held onto Plesac as I believe his future is brighter. From Cleveland's perspective, Clevinger was a fruit that was grown and picked before it rotted. In two seasons, Quantrill and Cantillo will probably be more valuable pitchers than Clevinger.

    • @rjs2527
      @rjs2527 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Norman Klein I don’t know if Plesac will be better, but Plesac has 3 more years of control than Clevinger, I also do believe Cleveland will get other pitchers, Quantrill looks great, but if not him or Cantillo, Cleveland will get someone else to perform, that’s what made Clevinger expandable, I’d rather have Arias, Miller or Naylor be a breakout player because lord knows Cleveland needs bats, hopefully they’ll comme soon as Indians top prospect ETAs such as Jones Freeman Arias etc are within a year

    • @SkipperDan1138
      @SkipperDan1138 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      _ BakerTrain Naylor is average at best. Never a fan of his. Quantrill is a decent pitcher and wants to be a starter but his best place is a bullpen for a long relief pitcher. And Hedges while great defensively needs a better bat. As a Pads fan I didn’t want to se Quantrill go but you can have Naylor. You never know he might become an all star. But I doubt it.

    The A's clearly won the deadline. They traded away very little and kept their top prospects, but also filled the needs they needed which was a decent bat and 2b as well as another pitcher to bolster the rotation. Baretto was never going to get a chance in Oakland, he would have been DFA'ed. As for the Mike Minor trade, the players that were traded will happen at the end of the season but rumor has it they will be 2019 draft picks.

    Padres definitely biggest winners on paper, buy we will have to see how that translates. The Reds definitely won the off season, now I been seeing cries that they have bad management. Odd season can't say that in 50 games because If it was normal who knows maybe they catch on fire for the second half like the nationals did last year. Padres definitely seem like they will be in serious contention over the next 5 years as long as they stay healthy. Hats off to there management team that people were also saying had no direction after 2 sub par years from Hosmer.

  • @tylermccann848
    @tylermccann848 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't think it's fair to say just cause someone didn't make a blockbuster trade that they are loosers. In the case of the Yankees and Rays, both teams have a injuries but are still contending and expect guys back before the playoffs.
    Also, when you say 'teams that normally make moves'.. it's a half truth with the Rays. They make under the radar deals that nobody pays attention to. Two years ago we picked up Glasnow and Meadows but everyone wanted to talk about Archer. Last year we picked up Nick Anderson and that was a huge grab that nobody was looking at. This year, it was the trades for Phillips and Reed. Those could be important trades.. but either way when you're contending and have a good shot to make the playoffs but also need to depend on your future, I don't mind at all what the Rays did, and I don't consider them loosers yet.

    • @josefino72
      @josefino72 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      GMAN They don’t need to go to another team’s roster. Move him for a draft pick or a prospect. They’ve proven in the last 65 years that they have the best farm system in baseball (Most ROYs in MLB history) and they know how to develop talent. There are plenty of guys who can play the infield on the farm: McKinstry, Busch, Vargas, Amaya, Hoese. What if Seager gets hurt (which he probably will) this season? They’d be in the same position. There are guys on the team that can play multiple positions (Hernandez, Taylor, Muncy, Bellinger). What has Seager done in the postseason? Nothing. He’s hitting .208. Like I said, they need to get rid of him before he pulls a Billingsley and then they get nothing for him. He’s trade bait.

For your information, the Dodgers have been trying to trade Seager for the last 5 years and nobody would take him. Seager was in every deal they were trying to make. All you witnessed was his best. He will never do that again and they might as well trade him because he’s going to be injured or hit .195 next season.
