Man, it's so good to hear this dude reviewing again. I was lucky enough to see someone recommend Easy Allies in the comment section then I found out it was the old GT team. More power to you guys.
Know what I admire, love and respect (😉) about EZA? They're passionate gamers with good intentions. They're not snobby, prideful, edgy or jaded in any sense when it comes to reviewing and critiquing a game. Even their cons they point out within games, is said with an, "it's unfortunate" sincerety and never comes off harsh. Their good vibes are a fresh avenue in an industry that's full of self-entitled outlets. They just have the utmost respect for the medium and developers that work hard hours on our games. They don't go looking for things and don't exaggerate negatives. Just honest dudes with best passion. That's why EASY ALLIES is the best in the biz, as I've said time again. 👌
Indeed. That was one of the main reasons I like this crowd back in the GT days and was so happy I found them reunited on youtube. They love games and their reviews echo that.
This game does this impressive feat of playing just like uncharted 4 but it doesn't feel like I'm playing uncharted 4 all over again I want one or two more of these expansion games
I don't understand why some people are hating this review scale so much. Even if they had a 10-point system with decimals, a lot of the past reviewed games would have gotten a 9.0+. And then they would whine about how EZA never gives a game a score lower than 9.0. xP Great review as always, Huber! L&R :)
Wow actually missed this guy review voice from GameTrailers. Just great and comfortable to listen, he could have even done for example a great job for BBC Planet Earth.
As always, excellent review. But: You guys didn't mention the climbing mechanics at all. For me, it felt like they don't fit the more open level design anymore. They were designed for Uncharted's old narrow tube-levels with clear paths to follow. In The Lost Legacy (and in Uncharted 4) you're encouraged to explore and find your own paths. That disparity led to some pretty frustrating trial-and-error situations. Other than that (and the weird and cheap plot-twist at the end... you know..) I really enjoyed The Lost Legacy and I hope that we'll see lots of Uncharted in the future!
Spot on review, I was surprised that you never mentioned the masks in multiplayer of Bosman, Huber and Bloodworth's faces they are actually hilarious! Bosman's is the best lol
A lot of people keep bring up the 4.5, but I honestly don't care. Number scores are more of a suggestion than a arbitrary guideline. I'm not saying they don't matter, but they shouldn't define on what you enjoy.
Amazing game! I think i liked it even more than Uncharted 4 and UC4 was one of my favourite games last year. Absolutely stunning on 4K/HDR TV, brilliant set pieces and that awesome UC4 combat and exploration.
I always watch reviews after I finish the game. there will always be a spoiler. Even trailers I dont watch everything. There is always a review that is not happy with a game but its you own experience. just like saying this pizza sucks
It took me a loooong time to get into the combat of these game. For me its part because of the 30fps, but playing through on crushing really made me appreciate it more.
Wasnt interested in this game at first, but I might as well just play it since I have the 8 platinums for all the previous releases. Hope they do another game that follows the story of Sam and Sully ^_^
R.R. Its cool that they did this though. They made another great game in a little over a year. They should just focus on TLOU2 for now. If they do another Uncharted game, I hope they optimize the engine so that it can run future games for even higher resolution than 1440p (at least 1800p or checkerboard 4k)
AngryEsper94 Yeah, it's still cool. Like I said, I like Chloe and Nadine quite a bit, it's just that Sully and Sam are by far my favorite characters in the series. And on that note, I hope that TLoU2 blows U4 out of the water in terms of tech. +Arnell Long Hopefully, man.
I just finished and as always, came on here to see what you guys thought about it. The two things that annoyed me the most about this game are the length, and poor team ai. I would always run for cover on crushing, and someone would just get in my way and get me killed. One of the harder games on crushing of the series for sure.
ive seen many reviews for this game, the one aspect I thought would be a huge issue would be the length of the game being 6-10 hours (depends on things). But that seems to not affect too much on the scores. I am picking it up tomorrow (Monday) due to gamestop having an early release for madden and this so will be getting the Jak and Daxter precursor legacy game download as the pre order so it makes spending $40 for a really short game not too bad. to make lost legacy last a little while ill probably play a chapter of this...then play a little jak and daxter....then a chapter of uncharted, etc
People agreeing/disagreeing with what the review said: 5%. People discussing the game at all: 5%. People annoyed that they don't get minute differences between game scores: 90%.
It's really good to see games like this and Hellblade on the PS4. They along with a bunch of other games round out the variety of games on PlayStation. Hence why PS4 is my console of choice. More variety means more bang for my buck 👍
You guys don't spend all of your time writing, cutting, and editing these reviews together for people to get pissed that they can't tell if you think it's a 9 or a 9.5. Not your fault that Sonic, Hellblade, and Uncharted are all 4.5/5s and came out at the same time. They're too different from each other so people just can't wrap their heads around them falling in similar ranges on the scale I guess
Wish there were more skins in this game theres only 2 for Chloe n like 7 for Nadine n she's a nonplayable character. I was hoping for a yoga outfit for Chloe or something like that.
they can make 100 single uncharted games I will play them all. I loved everyone single one of them. Was not that hyped for this one. But got myself a copy so Im ready !!
+Joel Rodriguez Uncharted 3's combat put me off the series personally. That grapple system was terrible >_< Shame, as I enjoyed the first two games, always wondered if I should return with 4. But from what I'm reading that's just as bad_
Pretty much sums up my thoughts on it, It was really disappointing to me because it all just felt like a loop of walking section -> climbing section -> combat section, and so on, I did enjoy the last of us very much and it's formula isn't that far off, but i think its combat was way more enjoyable and it had a way more interesting story as well as setting.
Dudes, don't go changing your scoring system. I think a more large-grain scale makes perfect sense; it helps capture that no score is a quantitative truth, just an estimation of the reviewer's enjoyment. So it puts more emphasis on the words of the review (which are always of extremely high quality).
People have been mentioning dislike for the 5 star scale... I just look at it as the same as the old 10 point scale... half star=1/10 one star=2/10 one and half star=3/10 two star=4/10 two and half star=5/10 and so on... so a four and a half star is a 9/10... the 5 star rating is the same as the 10 point scale guys. L&R
That's correct, but do you really need those decimals? Where is the difference between a 9.1 and a 9.2? I think the most important part should be what is being said in the review, not the score at the end. A game can get a 9.5 and I still wouldn't like it. The actual review, the words that are being uttered, that's what helps me to decide if it's my type of game, not the score at the end.
Nobody cares about the difference between a 9.1 and a 9.2, but everybody cares about the difference between a 9.0 and a 9.5. The 5-star system makes everything too black and white.
The nuance is in the writing, not the number of the score. Should you really be debating whether to play a 9 or a 9.5 if they're two completely different kinds of games or games in the same series that are a year or more apart? Should you really be worried about 5% differences when you're just a guy assigning subjective numbers to vague concepts like fun or quality?
You must have been really proud when you figured that out, thinking you were the first person to do so. The problem is that a normal 10-point scale isn't used by reviewers because pretty much no game gets a score below a 5. Almost all games fall between the 6-10 nowadays. Half of the 10-point scale isn't used. Especially with EZA (who mostly only review games with a big name) this means that in reality they only use a 5-point scale ranging from 3 stars to 5 stars. On Opencritic you can see that of the 75 games EZA has reviewed, only four games have fallen outside of the 3 to 5 stars rating. You could even narrow it further and say that only 7 of the 75 reviewed games have fallen outside the 3 to 4.5 star range. This means that more than 90% of their reviewed games have gotten just four different ratings. Also, 2/3 of their reviews (66%) ends up with a 4 or 4.5 That's a very, very narrow scale with barely any nuance.
hahah so salty, well the last 2 TR sucked big time, weak story, weak gameplay, weak weak acting performances, overall tomb was way to boring. I did not even finish the last one just gave it away. It wasnt even close to the last uncharted. But hey whatever makes you feel better. Gotta go... got me some epic new uncharted game waiting for me.
What a good way to start a review with a spoil. You could think your script more through. Please be careful to not reveal carelessly the end of another game next time.
I'm happy that fans get a new UC, but man, I just can't stand this type of game. The play mechanics are way too basic, making the game a total cakewalk. Eh....It's just not for me.
Outside of the few and far between gunfights, what's more difficult? The climbing? The walking? The puzzles? People love this series. I'm definitely the outlier here, and I accept that. I just don't find the game fun whatsoever whether it's on easy, normal or hard difficulty.
matterofact you dont need to like it tho and maybe you will never understand because you dont play this type of games? But for me personally i like those types of games like you need to walking for exploration, platforming and puzzles and the gunplay mechanics was very solid the characters was great not the best uncharted multiplayer tho but still fun! Maybe im biased because i love linear and 3rd person shooter but i totally get why some people dont like the genre!
I played UC4 until the end. The amazing technical feat that the game was kept me playing until the end, but yeah, it was a chore to finish. I should mention that I really liked The Last of Us, so I guess I do like some of these types of games. To me, TLOU was totally engrossing from a story and gameplay perspective. The were real stakes when having to deal with areas infested with Clickers. I really liked how there were multiple ways to deal with them. You had to stop and think about your next move, and what to craft etc. I was hoping that we were going to see an evolution in UC's gameplay after playing TLOU, but to me, it was just more of the same.
What a shame a genuinely thought it would be a complete other game , but just as you guys say it seems to be just an expansion. (Lenght wise and such.) Damn, I was so excited.
Aufinator Halo ODST and MGS Peace Walker are probably some of the best in their series, and they are not numbered titles it's not an excuse to not make a full game.
Agreed, it's much harder to give a perfect score or near-perfect score out of a 100. Also like the Awful - Average - Excellent - Masterclass review style.
Scoring systems in general are archaic and almost feel like a necessary evil if you want to be referenced on Metacritic or in an accolades trailer. Check out ACG if you want to see a real evolution in reviewing games. No disrespect to these guys of course.
This looks really much like Uncharted 4, i know it's only an extension and it's cheaper, but it feels more of the same. As much as I enjoyed the story and graphics in Uncharted 4, but I never really liked the arena gameplay when it comes to shooting, imo they are the weak part of the game and they only seems worst here, mixed with the story that doesn't seem as good as the last game, I'm not sure I want to play this game after the review, 4 1/2 stars seems really much for this game, I was expecting 3.5/max 4.
Sony must really like easy allies, in every occasion you don't forget to mention you are using the useless ps4 pro, this is the only site that has embraced this mid gen abomination in such heinous way, i want consoles that last 6-7 years, the concept of mid gen refresh must die, just say that you are using a ps4, it's bad enough the pro exist
Ps4 and ps4 pro are not that different, in most cases only the resolution is different, either way i find it unnecessary and most people have the standard ps4 but you guys are professionals and i really love your channel, so sorry if my comment was out of line
+breadordecide haven't liked a Tomb Raider since Anniversary. The reboot tries too hard to be Uncharted, but I haven't liked Uncharted for years either, so both are a waste in my eyes.
If dont have uncharted 4 you get the lost legacy plus the multiplayer, so its a good deal for those people, and fans dont mind paying that either so...
Am I the only one who really wants a sequel or two to this?
Man, it's so good to hear this dude reviewing again. I was lucky enough to see someone recommend Easy Allies in the comment section then I found out it was the old GT team. More power to you guys.
Can I get a "high stakes" count in Huber's reviews?
4:24 huber just had to put that high stakes in there lol
Feel the kill
Know what I admire, love and respect (😉) about EZA? They're passionate gamers with good intentions. Just honest dudes with best passion. That's why EASY ALLIES is the best in the biz, as I've said time again. 👌
Well said. And yet people complain about stars.
Wizards & Warriors And Ian
lol I'm kidding
Indeed. That was one of the main reasons I like this crowd back in the GT days and was so happy I found them reunited on youtube. They love games and their reviews echo that.
I wouldn't say all of them meet that. It's ok to disagree with their opinions.
There's gonna be some salty comments because another good game came out this year. Another 4.5 star game great year of gaming 2017 been
Most of the games that got 4.5 stars this year would be easy 10/10's in the last 5 years.
Shh, don't jinx it.
Sony has just been knocking it out of the park lately.
This game does this impressive feat of playing just like uncharted 4 but it doesn't feel like I'm playing uncharted 4 all over again
I want one or two more of these expansion games
This dudes voice makes me so happy. Just finished this game for the first time in 2024 and this was just the cap off I needed
I don't understand why some people are hating this review scale so much. Even if they had a 10-point system with decimals, a lot of the past reviewed games would have gotten a 9.0+. And then they would whine about how EZA never gives a game a score lower than 9.0. xP
Great review as always, Huber! L&R :)
GOTY Discussions this year will be ridiculous! So many good games
You get a 4.5! You get a 4.5!
Everybody gets a 4.5!
They should change stars to x/10
I prefer 10 point scales. I don't really care about the difference of a 9 vs an 9.5, that's what the words and the edit of the review are for
change to thumbs/2
The majority of games Easy Allies reviews are quality titles. I don't see the issue as long as the reviews are genuine, which they are.
4.5 is the new 7.8!
Great writing Huber! Also, solid editing there Don!
Thank you EasyAllies for giving me 4 1/2 out 5 Stars
Wow actually missed this guy review voice from GameTrailers. Just great and comfortable to listen, he could have even done for example a great job for BBC Planet Earth.
Perfect length for a game that comes out late August before the barrage of games hits this fall!
Thank god I found you guys. Only video reviews I enjoy watching ever since the GT days.... keep going strong
I'm not saying they don't matter, but they shouldn't define on what you enjoy.
those puzzle look pretty cool
A lot of 4 and half stars this month safe to say August was a good month for games I guess.
For a moment I thought that "high stakes" wouldn't make it.
Amazing game!
I think i liked it even more than Uncharted 4 and UC4 was one of my favourite games last year.
Absolutely stunning on 4K/HDR TV, brilliant set pieces and that awesome UC4 combat and exploration.
Those Uncharted 4 spoilers at the beginning though! O_O
also Huber needs to find a substitute for "high stakes" soon XD
I always watch reviews after I finish the game. there will always be a spoiler. Even trailers I dont watch everything. There is always a review that is not happy with a game but its you own experience. just like saying this pizza sucks
Combat was always my least favourite part of Uncharted. I'm quietly hyped to hear they're mixing things up with this one!
It took me a loooong time to get into the combat of these game. For me its part because of the 30fps, but playing through on crushing really made me appreciate it more.
I miss Charlie Cutter......
You mentioned it was shorter, but I never heard you mention how much shorter. About how long a game is it?
At 2:36 they say it took them 6-1/2 hours.
Thanks
Glad to hear that this is rather good. Games have been stepping up their single player DLC lately.
Look forward to playing it!
Did not like Nadine's character one bit. I wish Chloe was solo in this mission.
why are the colors so flat?
Wasnt interested in this game at first, but I might as well just play it since I have the 8 platinums for all the previous releases. Hope they do another game that follows the story of Sam and Sully ^_^
AngryEsper94 I'm sure that's the next one!
As much as I like Chloe and Nadine, getting Sully and Sam would've been much, much better.
R.R.
Sam and Sully may be next in line.
R.R. Its cool that they did this though. They made another great game in a little over a year. They should just focus on TLOU2 for now. If they do another Uncharted game, I hope they optimize the engine so that it can run future games for even higher resolution than 1440p (at least 1800p or checkerboard 4k)

And on that note, I hope that TLoU2 blows U4 out of the water in terms of tech.
+Arnell Long Hopefully, man.
Great review! I can't wait to play this next week! -- The Jastrom
Damn thought this was gametrailers review for a minute!
Very good to see you back!
I just finished and as always, came on here to see what you guys thought about it. The two things that annoyed me the most about this game are the length, and poor team ai. I would always run for cover on crushing, and someone would just get in my way and get me killed. One of the harder games on crushing of the series for sure.
It's Naughty Dog... Of course it's going to be excellent...

Sound like the old gametrailers reviews 👍
People agreeing/disagreeing with what the review said: 5%.
People discussing the game at all: 5%.
People annoyed that they don't get minute differences between game scores: 90%.
Who provided the review copy?
ExtremeExample I think microsoft
It's really good to see games like this and Hellblade on the PS4. They along with a bunch of other games round out the variety of games on PlayStation. Hence why PS4 is my console of choice. More variety means more bang for my buck 👍

Photo mode, here I come!
they can make 100 single uncharted games I will play them all. I loved everyone single one of them. Was not that hyped for this one. But got myself a copy so Im ready !!
Is the melee like Uncharted 3/ last of us or uncharted 4? Cause cause 4 had disappointing melee.
Joel Rodriguez 4, duh.
+Joel Rodriguez Uncharted 3's combat put me off the series personally. That grapple system was terrible >_<
Shame, as I enjoyed the first two games, always wondered if I should return with 4. But from what I'm reading that's just as bad_
Only 5 days left. I am so gonna buy the disc. The game is too big for a download.
I was so tired of uncharted 4 when i finished it, can see myself ever wanting that same experience repeated.
Max Kaspersson Chloe and Nadine thoooooo!
I just look at it as the same as the old 10 point scale...
half star=1/10
one star=2/10
one and half star=3/10
two star=4/10
two and half star=5/10
and so on... so a four and a half star is a 9/10...
the 5 star rating is the same as the 10 point scale guys.
L&R

The nuance is in the writing, not the number of the score. Is it me or does Brandon seem to be rushing ? Breathe man
You guys are.great! Thanks for all the great content!!!
Forty dollars though? I thought they were calling this DLC at one point.
"high stakes"
Must be a Huber review lol
I'm confused. Survival has long been patched into Uncharted 4. Is there something new here?
Intimate! High Stakes! This is a Huber review for sure ;-)
Uncharted is not Uncharted without Jack.
This is an expansion game done right
i loved lost legacy i could go on more adventures with nadine and Chloe and sam :)
Great review unlike ign
Is there a lot of useless repetitive tedious climbing sections like the incredibly disappointing UC4? I'm hoping they improved upon that.
Finished the game, im ready for the last of us 2, my personal favorite in the uncharted franchise
Before the game release date 😱😱😱
I made sure to avert my eyes from the video and only listen to it XD
High Stakes Adventure
Is this the new Tomb Raider ? :P
+Rosencrantz23ph
Are you fucking kidding?
I'm pretty sure the next Tomb Raider will be a bazillion times better than this crap if it's anything like the last one.
hahah so salty, well the last 2 TR sucked big time, weak story, weak gameplay, weak weak acting performances, overall tomb was way to boring. I did not even finish the last one just gave it away. It wasnt even close to the last uncharted. But hey whatever makes you feel better.

Jonas Traber..... Yes it's the new tomb raiber called 'uncharted lost lagacy; chloe adventure'
Best in the biz
EZA or Naughty Dog? Both answers are correct.
Cody Clark nah
Cody Clark
I agree.
The only review I care about!
But then again, could've known it was going to be a great game from the start. ;)
What a good way to start a review with a spoil. You could think your script more through. Please be careful to not reveal carelessly the end of another game next time.

No Filter she’s aged
Oh
What a shame a genuinely thought it would be a complete other game , but just as you guys say it seems to be just an expansion. (Lenght wise and such.)
Damn, I was so excited.
AlshepType It's not full price though, is it? No reason not to give it a shot
Blindly Fumblin I can get more bang for my buck at 40 dollars. However, you are not wrong.
AlshepType it's not a numbered title this is like a better priced halo 3 odst.
Aufinator Halo ODST and MGS Peace Walker are probably some of the best in their series, and they are not numbered titles it's not an excuse to not make a full game.
Uncharted 4 spoilers in the first 30 seconds. Ouch.
By now people should have played it...
That's why you need a out-of-100 scoring system..
or no score at all, just simply say "excellent", "masterful", "awful" etc.
Agreed, it's much harder to give a perfect score or near-perfect score out of a 100. Also like the Awful - Average - Excellent - Masterclass review style.

Sony does it again.
RIP Xbox
Sony must really like easy allies, in every occasion you don't forget to mention you are using the useless ps4 pro, this is the only site that has embraced this mid gen abomination in such heinous way, i want consoles that last 6-7 years, the concept of mid gen refresh must die, just say that you are using a ps4, it's bad enough the pro exist
Ps4 and ps4 pro are not that different, in most cases only the resolution is different, either way i find it unnecessary and most people have the standard ps4 but you guys are professionals and i really love your channel, so sorry if my comment was out of line
Uncharted SJW edition!
Tomb Raider + Rise of the Tomb Raider > Uncharted
breadordecide But uncharted the lost legasy is better than both tomb raider games.
kalkampanaros nope
breadordecide Yes it is
kalkampanaros no its not
+breadordecide haven't liked a Tomb Raider since Anniversary. The reboot tries too hard to be Uncharted, but I haven't liked Uncharted for years either, so both are a waste in my eyes.
I'd knock it down half a star simply for the $40 price tag.
U mean push it up? $40 for 6-10hours of playtime(depending how good player u are) is solid value for action game like this ;)
I'm not normally one to complain about the game-price-to-game-length ratio, but $40 for an expansion is just too much.
Joshua Moose I'm getting it for free cause I bought uncharted 4 deluxe edition. Well not free but heavily discounted.
I reckon this is one of the rare occasions where people have gotten more than what they bargained for with a season pass/deluxe edition.
If dont have uncharted 4 you get the lost legacy plus the multiplayer, so its a good deal for those people, and fans dont mind paying that either so...
First
Uncharted just looks like a solid 6 to me. So uninteresting.
MrPartypooper looks can be deceiving, try play one.
