I'm eighty-five, I took up singing five years ago. It changed my life. My teacher said age didn't matter, but desire did. And now I too am learning Weep No More - nowhere near as well as Henry, but there is the small matter of sixty-odd years. But the bridge is two-fold - an anonymous Elizabethan poet and the sensitivities of Roger Quilter, my music teacher's favourite composer. I wonder if Henry could tell me how to get "snowy" exactly as he does. Good luck to him in his career. Good luck to me in staving off the Grim Reaper
Henry my friend, you are so wonderfully talented in so many ways. Your singing voice is so beautiful and conveys meaning and the depth of emotion so deep into the listeners soul. I am so blessed to have you for a friend.
I am 84, two degrees in music with voice as my instrument. Still perform. Your voice is rare for a 17 year old, more mature. I hope you are still singing. If so, do not let any teacher push you to have a 'big' voice. Let it come naturally. You will save your voce and sing longer into life. Hope to hear you again someday. And by the way, if you get a degree(s) in music, do not do as too many singers do and try to sing the rest of your life on the "interest" you built up in school. Too many singers no longer practice after they leave school and it shows....
Weep you no more, sad fountains; What need 1 flow so fast? Look how the snowy mountains Heaven's sun doth gently waste! But my sun's heavenly eyes View not your weeping, That now lies sleeping, 2 lies Sleeping. Sleep is a reconciling, A rest that peace begets; Doth not the sun rise smiling When fair at 3 he sets? Rest you, then, rest, sad eyes! Melt not in weeping, While she lies sleeping, 2 lies Sleeping.

Lovely, Henry. Way to go, sir!
Beautiful
Weep you no more, sad fountains;
What need 1 flow so fast?
Look how the snowy mountains
Heaven's sun doth gently waste!
But my sun's heavenly eyes
View not your weeping,
That now lies sleeping,
2 lies
Sleeping.
Sleep is a reconciling,
A rest that peace begets;
Doth not the sun rise smiling
When fair at 3 he sets?
Rest you, then, rest, sad eyes!
Melt not in weeping,
While she lies sleeping,
2 lies
Sleeping.
what key is this in??
Lovely! What a beautiful legato line! I like your version better than Bryn Terfels!
