If you are not the lead dog,the view never change.I got to Alaska in1980. Drove from there. It is wild, if some one is broke down you had to help them. I miss that.

I too drove to Alaska from central CA in 1980 in a 1958 GMC truck with an overhead camper.....my wife and my 15 year old son also went. We drove clear to Circle.....end of the road at that time because of the Yukon River. A bridge was built several years ago and wish it were there when we made our trip. Still have the truck, but got rid of the camper three years ago.
At the time I had an uncle who lived on Trapper Lake...we hired a float plane, flew into visit them and spent a week. The entire trip took six weeks.
Because I wanted to experience what Alaska was like in the winter, the following year we flew to Anchorage in February, then went into Trapper Lake via snowmobile. By the time we drove from Anchorage and got to where my Uncle had hid the snowmobiles, it was midnight and we started off then for over an hour's trip---no moon and was sure glad he knew where he was going. There were six of us and three snowmobiles.

I loved the show as a small kid (brought to you by Quaker Oats)--One of the first shows shot entirely in color--found out much later when visiting Clark, CO, outside of Steamboat Springs that that was where the outdoor scenes were shot--as a result, there are still many dogsled teams there--Also, the theme song is the Dona Diana Overture

The villains in this episode were ALMOST nasty enough to be politicians!

Quite comical----wind whistling , bringing blustery storms; yet none of the trees in these scenes are moving!

Coleman Francis at 11:17! Seems as though every bit part on this show was played by someone with an interesting history.

I appreciate the uploading of this great show! Your intros are short and harmless. I just wish you didn't find it necessary to place your logo on the screen through-out the ENTIRE episode. I used to produce a cable television program. I brought up our nearly transparent logo once and awhile. I always made sure it was as far into the corner as possible, and roughly 75% transparent. Yours appears to be more like 25% transparent AND in color. Fortunately, others upload Preston without logos.

Does anyone know who the narrator was? The voice sounds strikingly like that of the late Vic Perrin, who was the "control voice" of the 1960's TV series, "The Outer Limits," as well as supplying voiceovers for several of Hanna-Barbera's classic cartoon series, most notably of the character Dr. Zin in "Jonny Quest."

I am pretty sure I read somewhere it is Vic Perrin. It sure as heck sounds exactly like him and, he was known for doing a lot of narratiions and voiceovers.
