Enríquez de Valderrábano was a very fine composer, as this beautifully woven piece makes clear. I find he isn't nearly so well represented in concerts and recordings as he ought to be, so double thanks for this charming performance: impeccable ensemble, and how I love the pure third in the final chord!
Bravos 👏👏
Ms. Mascardi, on the album "Under the Shade of Vivaldi: Venetian Cello Sonatas", your quartet plays Sonata III in A minor by Girolamo Bassani. Who is Girolamo Bassani? I thought at first that he might actually be Giovanni Battista Bassani, but web searches revealed he's not. Girolamo Bassani can be heard on only two albums (I think), yours and one entitled "Viaggio Italiano." Can you say a bit about Girolamo Bassani?
Ahh nice!
The power of music lives right here, ❤ EM
