Desert Slide to projekt, którego liderem jest Vishwa Mohan Bhatt -- indyjski mistrz gry na stworzonym przez siebie instrumencie mohan veena, który łączy elementy tradycyjnych indyjskich instrumentów strunowych z cechami slide gitary z Ameryki Północnej. Artysta znany jest nie tylko jako świetny improwizator, ale i natchniony kompozytor. Ma na swoim koncie kilkanaście albumów, na których konsekwentnie łączy tradycyjną muzykę indyjską z innymi gatunkami muzycznymi. W ramach Desert Slide Vishwa Mohan Bhatt współpracuje z romskimi muzykami z grupy Divana z Radżastanu.
Vishva Mohan Bhatt & Desert Slide performing at Ethno Port Festival Poznań (June 17th, 2011). Desert Slide is the latest project lead by Vishwa Mohan Bhatt -- an Indian master of mohan veena, an instrument of his own invention, which combines the features of traditional Indian string instruments with the elements of the North American slide guitar. The artist, a former pupil of Ravi Shankar's, is a 1994 Grammy winner for the album "A meeting by the river", made in collaboration with Ry Cooder. With the prize, Vishwa Mohan Bhatt became one of the few Indian musicians, who enjoys a fame in the West, not only as an excellent improviser but also as a spirited composer. In Desert Slide, Vishwa Mohan Bhatt collaborates with the Roma musicians from Rajasthan's Divana group.

Those who have given a 'dislike' probably have no clue exactly HOW difficult it is to produce those explorations and embellishments of a string instrument ( the initial alap or prelude portion before the tabla begins). Only very great mastery of the string and deep understanding of exactly how much melody a stretched string can hold, produces that kind of performance. In India we revere him as one of thw greatest musicians.
I think anyone who gives this a dislike is just not part of the Human race.

Francesco Brufatto Hello! He is not playing this Year but we are the organiser of the Festival where He performed in 2011. For all the World Music lovers it is an info that next edition of the Festival is in June. We hope You will find a possibility to come for the shows.

Disgusting publishers what ever the argument let the festival pay PRS the % they are supposed to & work something out for the publishing surely the publishers are going to make more on all medias of selling music. & the public get to enjoy great Artists.
