In my opinion, car drivers hate cyclists on the road. We're slow and also they feel we don't belong because they pay road tax. Our country is not geared for bicycles on the road as the mindset is not there. This is my opinion. I'd like to know your views.
First we must ask ourselves what is the idea of road tax? I tried a google search and I couldn't find any explainers in SG context, and this is problematic because in most other nations, road tax is pegged to vehicular CO2 emissions and I would assume it's the same here. Hence drivers' sense of entitlement is misplaced because the common misconception is it's pegged to how often a vehicle would use the road, when it isn't. There is a failure to communicate and address this point in road safety and I only hear the same old points over and over. Second, urban planning. Our urban planning is definitely skewed in favour of drivers by design. This boils down to infrastructure, and I guess there is a lack of political will(or unpopular policy) to invest in cycle infrastructure. In time, the govt's attitude toward this will change, because cars are space inefficient, and therefore are the source of most congestion problems. On average, a public bus would travel arnd 17km/h (LTA article) in one journey. During congested periods, a car would only travel an average of around 26km/h which is not all that more faster. If the infrastructure is in place, cycling would more or less achieve a similar efficiency for short to medium trips. Furthermore, there is no incentive to cater to cars because they contribute to air pollution and climate change and contradicts their car-lite vision. I have no disagreements with the car-lite vision, but questions must be asked about their approach. Third, social attitudes. As a driver myself, I also know all too well that bikes are small targets, so we do not actively look out for them. But it is appalling that drivers would try to shift the responsibility of road safety towards cyclists and call them a 'menace', all they are doing is deflecting blame and obfuscating the problem. Social attitudes will not change overnight, because these social attitudes were formed due to poor policy wording. No doubt there are bad cyclists out there, but driver aggression and road rage incidents need to be addressed because a cyclist hitting a car won't kill a driver, but a car hitting a cyclist would. It is therefore on the onus of drivers to take a fair share of responsibility on road safety. You can preach wearing helmets all day, but it is just a band-aid solution and won't solve any of the real issues of conflict on the road. Of course, this is not exclusive to SG, so it is not an easy problem to solve. It will take a concerted approach and reimagining of the way we commute in the coming years, but my sense is that cycling will have a big role to play in this vision, so why not give it some priority especially as a means of commute?
The best solution would be if we have extra cycling lanes. I understand that car drivers get mad when slow cyclists are slowing them down. Either this or we need faster e-bikes/scooters that go 50 km/h.
Every law abiding citizen pay taxes to the government regardless of your vehicle. If a bikecycle is able to reach the the speed limit of the road, they belong there just as much as a 4 wheel car or motorcycle.

Who to blame for the ban? The black sheep and the self-entitled pmd user. In the past before there is pmd, bicycle was actually not allowed on footpath. It is not strictly enforced. I used to cycle a lot. I don't even dare to ring my bell and expect pedestrian to give way. Instead I just follow behind the pedestrian. Nowadays you can see self-entitled pmd user keep ringing their bell and expect pedestrian must give way to them. These punk don't even know they are supposed to give way to pedestrian. Pedestrian is actually sharing their footpath with pmd, not the other way round. In Guangzhou, the Chinese ride PMD better than Singapore punk. They respect the pedestrian. I have been to their textile district where the road and footpath are full of PMD on errands, it look scary for my first time walking on the footpath. Later I realized I just have to ignore those PMD around me and just walk. The PMD riders will know how to avoid the pedestrian.
Yeah I remember about 10 years ago, bicycle riders were suppose to ride on side of road not footpath and so even some bicycle that ride on footpath they usually just ride very slowly behind us without ringing the bell and it's we who felt pai sai thus give way let them pass. And a thank you I'd usually provided with a smile. In recent years pmd and some bicycle on the footpath will keep on ringing n except to be given way to. If we didn't respond fast enough to the bell, expect some yelling from some rude rider or at least get a negative face from all other riders. Some of them don't even bother to ring the bell just try to cut u from the side but what if all of a sudden the walker move abit sideways while pmd trying to cut without warning? I sprain my ankle twice and was home bound for more than 2 weeks because I myself had to last minute avoid those pmd who get too close to me as they try to cut me be it ringing or not ringing. They expect to ring and receive a response in 1 second as they only right right behind you. As for those rider who rings while they are far far away, I notice some walkers complain and nag as if footpath is their's. I won't dare to do that because my parents taught me that it's always my own responsibility to avoid dangers, cannot expect others to be considerate when it's my own safety involve.
agree, chinese ppl ride better than singapore, i was in zhanjiang guangdong province, i took bus and we have to alight and board from the e-motorbike path, the riders have very high awareness and will brake for us even though they have the right of way
Yoo. Be nice to your singaporean brothers, they ain’t punks, they are Daft Punks making the discovery that compared to China aka The Brainwasher, they are Human After All . Even if they are too busy listening to Robot Rock and running out of RAM which pissed them off, they have much in common after all
Protected bike lanes are needed in cities. They provide a safe place for adults and children to ride to work, school or for fun. Bicycles are fossil fuels free transportation. More bicycles means less traffic congestion and less pollution.
as a motocyclist, sometimes i see ebikes in the third lane thats ok , as long as they keep left there wont be any accidents. anyway as road users we look out and take care of them as well. most important is ride safe and be home safe 😊
First, take away lifelihood of all the humble pmd delivery drivers just because of some accidents caused by a few morons. And now encourage all to switch and put them on the road to be killed by cars. Best logic thinking by our scholar minsters.
Because singaporean are selfish bastards. Everywhere from road to footpath to even queueing for food, singaporean are not gracious or corteous enough. For example on road a simple give and take of overtaking or giving way are non existent in singapore as compared to other countries. Malaysia, Indonesia or India road users may not follow the traffic rules but they practices give and take and are aware of their surrounding unlike singapore. Yes im a singaporean myself and I will try to change habits. Singapore is losing the courteous and graciousness like the old time.
Kruxxy because they know they themselves dont follow rules that’s why they don’t dare to horn others who break the law. Sg all scared to break law so once someone breaks the law, other Drivers will horn for show their displeasure. Cmon la horn then horn la what’s the big deal?
@@Kruxxy Walao Mr Singapore since when did we chose you to represent us? How do you know that the " bad " drivers on the road are singaporean and by " singaporean " which type? I ride ebike from tuas to sembawang so far... its a smooth ride as im experience riding or driving on the road i have both class 2 n 3 licence.... well i do face some problem before... at the red light there this one driver ask me why i didnt ride on the footpath or pavements.... i told him that PAB is not allowed there we will get fine 300dollars and the driver was shocked and surprise to hear this....... i hope drivers and motorist do get some knowledge about PAB....PAB's cyclist are not like bicycle.....
Defensive riding guys. Use logic, prioritize your safety! Always keep left! When turning right, just use the traffic light instead and push the ebike for a while. Sacrifice a few minutes for your safety or life. AVOID RIDING in the middle of the road/lane or in between cars!
LTA has best practices in separated bikeway infrastructure available to them in the Netherlands, UK, Australia and Japan to learn from, but are left playing catchup in realising a coherent and safe alternative infrastructure to motoring and public transport that would cater to the active mobility of those who prefer to cycle or e-scoot in their commutes. The longer LTA procrastinates over safe and separated active mobility infrastructure, the higher the statistics in near misses and accidents will be as a forgone conclusion!
It’s nice that Singapore are slowly accepting this mode of transportation but then again No ebike lane it’s quite dangerous, not safe at all , I lived in Shanghai China but at least the government has provided Ebikes a lane, the lane is shared with bicycles and Ebikes 👍
Most of these ebike or pmd riders that cause havoc on pedestrian path are usually teenagers and young kids... their actions result in those using ebike to earn their living to suffer. Most full time grab riders I know are not kaysiow and anyhow speed on footpath... they just want to deliver their food...
Drivers in Singapore are the worst... They NEVER give way to anyone. Even if you signal early for changing lanes, most will simply speed up to cut you off.
Sadly I'd have to agree with you on this. Even as a learner driver, I'd have people horning at me, purposely accelerating from far away to overtake me just so they don't have to be behind me. What are they exactly rushing for? It's non peak hour btw.
Before pmd is introduced in Singapore, pedestrian don't have to worry about any faster moving mode of transport on footpath. Most won't even bother much as rarely there might have a bicycle on footpath and even when there are, bicycle riders will ride slowly behind us until we give way not ring ring ring. After the pmd introduction, pmd is much faster than bicycle and most pmd riders assume it's their cheaper mode of transportation and since it's much faster than any normal walking adult, pedestrian should alway give way to them. After pmd ban, still some pmd food delivery guy at my estate pretend to "walk cum ride" their pmd on footpath. They remain in riding position and pretend to walk on it instead of pushing it on their side. Once they got the chance they just ride and then back to pretend to walk when they see officers.
@@celestialstar124 back then the issue of bicycles is the same as pmds today, both the footpath and road is not friendly to bicycle/pmd users, and cyclist do ring to let you know they are near and passing (or ride on the rain covers to make sound), there are pro and cons to all, now they pushed most pmd to pab it endangers the riders, then it cause traffic jam (to an already jam heavy sg road). mostly the issue is the footpath being too narrow, its just the width of the drain below, often I find myself squeezing with people even on foot. And many people who think they own the road, walking in the center (and walking side by side)despite seeing a on coming pedestrian (recall how many times you(me) are forced to the grass when theres clearly enough space). Many times I event thought of just standing still and see if they will just walk into me.
@@rokupixruiqi368 how old are you? I am very sure 10 years ago or earlier, bicycle aren't reckless on footpath. Especially when smartphone isn't that popular. If you are referring to the past 5 years or so, then yes cyclist are getting more aggressive or reckless. Especially in recent years, cyclist are expecting pedestrian to let them overtake because they are faster. Back when cycling on footpath was illegal, reported cyclist accidents is definitely much lower than the last 5 years. Else government won't even allow pmd on footpath if situation is bicycle already causing lots of accidents on footpath. As smartphone getting extremely common and even elderly start to swtich to smartphone. Prices also get more affordable that low wage worker and students are also able to afford owning a presentable smartphone. The problem includes checking on their phone while cycling especially all delivery staff. They receive their order from hp and they need to verify the address and also the status of the food/parcel that is ready for collection at sellers shop.
Why now stop all transport like cars... since before and after Singapore have cars, will have less accidents... if u dont know how the others live shut up!

I don't even know if u are willing to support their life with such expensive medical bills or Not
During the raining times , will be much more worst . Total insane to ride on roads when the ebike can speed up to 25km max . And of course for me I will not see a problem because I have been riding motorcycle for the past 26 years and 7 years of driving. It's common for me to travel to KL . Defensive experiences helps alot . Will be expecting more accidents involving these ebikers and motorists. It's another way of shrinking the populations. After another ban , more will shift to motorcycle. Smart way of making them think it's dangerous for ebikers on roads. Banning escooter on path was the first part of one rule fits all. Didn't know it was the fault for all the other escooter riders whom rode courteously 🤔 sicked.
Why not this dr lam come down on the ground together and do food delivery like this guy from cna did. Using pmd but not allowed on footpaths and roads. Only then he will knock his head and understand the hardship and sweat that we go through and to review and uplift the ban. No need to be pai seh just be real for this is livelihood.
Evanne Wu there is no way you can solve all problems in the world. Solving one problem means you create another problem. Its a vicious endless cycle. In this matter, the pedestrians lives, especially elderly and children are top priority. So I support the ban. Not because im pro government, but because its a necessary thing to do
@@NookTommy the chances of them getting killed by car riding ebike is higher than pmd on footpath killing pesdestrians. That's what the original comment is trying to say
I'm obviously not Singaporean, but i have thought, the government of Singapore should provide countrywide bike lanes that can be used and shared by e-pmds and conventional bike, also maybe put some max speed limit on the bike lane, for example 40km/h 🤔
@@shin_arman i agree. there are more than one way to do it. i just feel that more effort and thots should be put in to weigh the pros and cons of the each possible solutions.
i don't think e-bikes are meant to be ridden as a motorbike. if they are, then should be properly licensed with insurance and all. otherwise it can be v dangerous. When it comes to crossing, should use the signalised pedestrian crossing. not only faster but also safer.
In the past, Mac and Pizza Hut delivery guys were only in motorcycles , no e-bike or e-scooter then. Why can't grab food and food panda deliver with motorcycles?
Motorcycle COE at $4000... How possibly to afford? Honda Wave inclusive COE is around $7000... Nowdays Malaysian bikers are taking delivery jobs... COE actually the main reason why 2B motorcycles are unaffordable also with zero growth quota, it hurts a lot for Singaporeans...
No problem, oblige insurance, bike drivers license and taxes, as these are motor powered vehicles, it’s logic. Till 18 years old no faster than 25km/h. Numberplates obligatory also, as bikes mostly run after damaging other vehicles and its necessary to be able to trace them. Also obligatory fixed lights and blinkers and every 6 month a technical control from the government, to prohibit non factory adjustments, and no cutting between traffic
It is way too dangerous. Can u imagine youngsters having to ride ebike to deliver food. More road accidents and deaths. How many death need to happen and then they will say ban.
Bicycle are also using the road. There's also a number of accidents, but bicycle are not ban. If bycicle can do it, so can ebikes.. If they ebike drivers think that it's dangerous, then simply don't use ebikes? It's a choice u can make,or simply use a bicycle on the footpaths. If they also complain too slow for delivery turnover.. Then buy a motorbike, there's always a solution, ppl are just receptive to change..
@@umeran93 it is not a choise when some of them depend on the delivery jobs to make a living. The pay isnt that much! Plus, getting a licence and all that is even more expensive. I come from a struggling familiy and reading these comments is kinda hurtful since we DO NOT have a choise
Precisely. Now they complain, I don't see them giving us privacy space when they ride on the footpaths.. They just ride SO close to us and at high speed.. Karma is a bitch
Put it this way for you to understand, pavement is very narrow and has barely enough space for a pedestrian and escooter when put side by side.... The road is obviously much wider.
Slow Car Sg walkway got enough space for 2 way flow of escooters. Unless ur body more than 70cm sideways, I don’t see it as a big problem. As for how close they get to u, RMB that they were trying to go past u and u were most likely not at either side of the pathway. No one will come close on purpose u think u pretty girl they wanna sniff u?
I ride the bicycle and honestly some pedestrian wait for the last second to give way eventhough they know we are coming. And sometimes they just give small space. Sometimes they also dont know go left or right. Best is always keep left. Its annoying when one you go left then your friend go right. Then now you both got to go on the grass cause cannot coordinate where to go. STAY CALM KEEP LEFT.
@@earthpotato5143 are u going to pay for the cost to create more bike lane? And how big is Singapore if bike lane is expected through out all road and footpath just so pmd can be use as means of transportation?
@@celestialstar124 I thought Singapore is a rich country that can afford that.. oh well.. I guess the country need more accident on bicycle for it to realize the usefulness of bicycle lane.
@@earthpotato5143 as a Singaporean especially someone who grew up from my beloved Harry's government style. Why the need for more accidents before building bike lane? Just completely ban it like no chewing gum allowed and reintroduce gums after the public is more educated but with government monitoring to prevent the abuse again. Common sense that Singapore is tiny in size thus land is more expensive. Maybe because you are not a Singaporean so you are not too aware that sometime next year our government will increase a 2% gst tax and that increase in tax alone have cause some unhappiness among the public. Expecting our government to gather the fund to build a bike lane will only result in non cyclists or pmd user to pay for the cost in form of tax. If government solely collect tax from all pmd and cyclist + maybe even all motorcycle riders combined. The money is too far behind. So how did your own country manage such a pmd problem?
Potholes along double yellow lines not patched for decades knowingly. Paint for yellow lines slippery when wet. Drivers not educated to keep 1.5m clearance from ebikes. Drivers many not skilled enough to know where exactly are their distance from riders. Drivers dangerously overtaking ebikes Infront when slip road is very near allowing little margin for safe take over should slow down for two seconds and the issue is gone
This is gambling with life for delivery riders riding ebikes on the road. LTA is making real bad policies on this matter. These are human lives at stake. These ebikes are just too tiny and slow on the road to be seen by drivers and to compete in speed with cars. Moreover ebikes might not even be equipped with side and rear mirrors; adding to the woes. I have talked to ebike delivery riders. They are facing real danger everyday. Sometimes they risked fines of $300+150 to ride on pavements since it’s so dangerous to ride on busy roads. Goodness sake, LTA please make a pavement for ebikes and bicycles. Even dozens of bicycles at my neighbourhood zoomed past me daily as I walk on pavements meant for pedestrians. Hope LTA see all these comments.
I my opinion car Drivers have paid an insanely huge amount as tax and they think that they have owned the road, well it's not completely wrong me being a car user it does pinch a bit. The solution to this can only come if we build a dedicated lane for PMD users as they are surely an alternative transport and if done correctly can greatly reduced traffic.
If I understand correctly in some cities in Holland the principle is that if a car driver hits a cyclist then the default position is that the car driver is in the wrong. Mostly the rest of the world indulges in "victim blaming". The car early in the clip approached an intersection too fast, in the wrong position in the lane and at the wrong angle so that the entire road was hidden behind the "A" pillar. A common driving fault. Laws OTHER than speed and alcohol also need to be policed and taken seriously because they do cause accidents and injuries.
Interesting video! 1:15 When you changed lanes instead of putting your arm straight out you just pointed to the ground with you arm at less than 45 degrees so how do you expect drivers to know you were going to change lanes when you just point to the ground instead of making a bold "arm sticking straight out" movement? You were dressed in all dark clothes - Not the best thing to wear if you want to be seen by others. You did not have any lights being used on the bikes - Lights help to let people see you, even in day time. 1:53 The inside lane was full of cars and there were cars in the middle lane so you then squeeze yourself between the two lanes of cars to "make" another lane just for you - a great way to put yourself in danger when approaching a junction. 2:48 You cycle helmet "chin strap" was so loose under your chin that if you had of got knocked off your bike then we doubt that your helmet would have even stayed on your head to give you protection. We take the point you are trying to make and yes even in the UK the roads are very dangerous for people on bikes, however, it does not help the situation when many cyclists don't take basic steps (lights, bright clothing etc) to protect themselves when using the roads. Are there any safety awareness adverts or is safety information being directed to the road users in Singapore, any type of road safety campaign to educate the road users of the dangers? For example, in the UK there used to be a TV & poster advert that had the strap-line "Think once, think twice, think BIKE! The idea was that at junctions the motorists would look an extra time for bikes before they pulled out onto a main road. We watch with interest at what is happening with regard to electric vehicles in Singapore and other places around the globe because what happens there may end up happening in the UK once the EV market picks up over here. Best wishes from the UK!
I agree to Ron Second, it is the People Issue! It is the rider attitude of riding their devices. it not the machine wrong, rather these group of people should be ask to take up a licencing course for them to properly us these device just let motorcycles. Sad to hear that the minister claim that it is very troublesome to setup the system for this licencing. Yet they are able to easily put up law to let us register our own PMD at the pass!!!
It’s not realistic...where is the delivery destination...you pick the busiest junction at Upper Bukit Timah as an example and circle back to the hawker centre. And Steven Chia said he made a delivery. Pick a more realistic location...like the heartlands...
They are not meant for the road. Too slow. I paid road tax to be on the road. I pass theory test to be on the road. Stupid resolution. Alway quick patch fix instead of solving root cause
I agree that car and bike drivers require to get a license and pay road tax. But those ebike are able to travel at 50km onwards (pre modified) thus if staying at the 60km lane on residential area is still OK. But on highway they can be rather slow for other vehicles.
This doesn’t make sense. ebikes on the road is just too dangerous. Why not allow ebikes on pavement since it’s alr cap to 25km/h. And make them get a license or take test. Including age limit. There’s just not enough pcn to get around. Suddenly riding an ebikes becomes a crime in sg...
The Government opens its shores to foreign talents, the roads are getting very dangerous. Foreign talents can donate money to get their licenses back home. Over here they can just drive if staying for less than a year. If more than a year, just need to take a theory test to convert the license.
@@ducc5526 I believe it is something that will be hard to implement. Because it is like some international standard of mutual arrangements. But with a big proportion of our PMETs taken up by foreigners, there might be a need to revisit whether they should be allowed on the roads so easily without doing our stringent driving test.
Mark my words, eBike would be banned from the road after a few fatal accidents . Ebike is banned in Malaysia and it shouldn't be used for commercial use at all. Even casual use also have risk not to mention being use for commercial basis. They should just switch to motorbike.
That ebike the reporter is riding doesn't look road worthy with those tiny wheels. Road competency is a skill that needs to be developed over time. Can't expect to ride on a busy 3 lane road especially when you're a beginner.
i thought E bikes suppose to be on the left lane with the bicycles and not zoom around as if they are like real motorbikes in between cars. If like this surely within 1 month, 1 of them will surely end up underneath the lorry or car when trying to zoom around between the cars. Since they dont know the traffic rules.
Is sg roads and infrastructure compliant with any ISO standard or any international safety standard? Would LTA personnel use ebike on the major roads daily for work?

Otherwise , the normal functioning people with both emotional or mental capacity to behave like civic people from both groups will have no problem with each other .
I understand your concern, homie. I'm from China and I hate e-bike riders. I now live in UK and I cycle 6 days a week, and you know how thrilling it is to ride downhills in rush hour. Bikes are a problem all over Asia but I don't think there is no better substitution so far, if you consider what we do with those bikes.
WOW! A totally unbiased state sponsored response to poor legislation? Must be an accurate presentation of things. Just ask yourself. Do old Chinese men like it? Allowed. Do old Chinese men hate it? Banned! Simple as that.
It doesn't matter what one's transportation is - WE all want to return back home safely! We drivers of vehicles have to wear seat belts by law, also we are forbidden to use a mobile phone! I have no problem with that! So surely those on small/thin transportation should have to wear bright clothing and a helmet by law for their own safety, so those who are driving vehicles would see them clearer/quicker! Two wheel transportation have no protection, so surely they should think about their own safety and wear bright clothing! I almost got knocked down by one of those electric scooters as I came out of a shop onto the pavement when this scooter flew at great speed thus nicking my bag, which resulted in the scooter and driver falling to the ground heavily with injuries to the drivers head! It seems that these E-Bikes/scooters are left to ride where they please - No rules, no thought in how to keep everyone safe from collision/s which could result in someone loosing their life! I have tried to contact Highway code safety, but their contact number won't open for me to make comment/s - So what does that tell you all! Think safe, be safe, stay safe - Only YOU, can keep yourself safe! Don't blame others!
Now we know that Singapore road is not safe for ebike.......or any other bike. It has been happening since like forever. Do Singaporean seldom use their bike that they just realize It now?
Cyclists should do hook turns instead, rather than filtering to the right to turn right. Hook turns are much safer because u dont have cut across lanes of traffic to turn right.
Just like smrt issues. Infra not ready. Influx already in. Learning on the job? At expense of citizens getting into accidents? Might as well I take over the govt. I too can produce same results
They are too slow to be on the same road with cars and motorcycles. It's not about type of power generation they have. Make them faster and with higher visibility on the road.
The invention of PMDs like e-scooter should be regulated before it is even allowed to come into the shores of any country. I support Government's move to ban e-scooters and pmds on foot path. Now I urge rules in place for mandatory training and lessons for E-scooters PMD riders. They should all go for highway code, basic theory of riding on roads. Food delivery riders on PMDs like e-scooter should have a mindset that its their job and they have to be trained to ride on the road alongside cars. As long as e-scooter and PAB PMDs riders exercise patience, graciousness and care they should stay safe on the roads. There are also accessories for PAB like side rear mirrors, helmet headlights, scooter front and rear lights. I urge all riders to get these safety devices installed on their ride. Know that errand riders if they continue their mindless attitude on roads it will costs them their lives no doubt just a matter of time. And no one will pity them if they were to have any accidents. They have to understand that on footpaths they can knock down pedestrians but on the roads if they think they are still kings they are wrong. The tables have turned.
AS you can see from this clip, this rider choose to dash through the side road. in the good old time cyclist, follow people of crossing the road via traffic light or zebra crossing.
We have the wrong kind of e-bikes on the road. These are electric motorcycles. Real e-bikes only provide a small motor to assist pedaling. LTA knows but conveniently ignores all these.

This is stupid really..moving e-scooter riders from footpaths to e-bikers on to the road..How many lives lost before the Government decide to put out a complete ban on these machines?
E-bikes started surfacing on footpaths these two days! Even though there is a bicycle path parallel to it. Is it because they became bolder after MP meetings? Hope LTA send out more wardens to control the situation especially evening to night time.

Food delivery companies could have use their own app to track their PMD deliverymen riding speed using phone GPS, or simply get the average speed based on the total distance travelled and time taken to deliver an order, perform analytics on the data gathered to determine if their deliverymen had been obeying the speed limit, and implement a system to reward or penalise them depending on their track records for riding at safe speed.
In before all the reckless pmd riders change to bicycle and cause problem again. Back to square one. Should have a demerit point for pmd in the first place like car license. Ban the user not the vehicle.
E-bike on road will increase by 100 fold. Together with bicycles, accident will increase 10 fold. Another problem created. Another ban in the near future when car drivers started to complain. It’s liken to ‘out of the frying pans and into the fire’.
E bikes are not really safe on the road. It's going to create a mess.Wait and see how many cars going to horn them and how many accidents going to happen in 2022. Anyway collection already done for the theory test.
Singapore policy makers should not allow pmd when infra is not ready. Now some are hurt and an aunty died. Why allow knowing it will cause accidents? Being world highest paid govt, this kind of performance gives people no confidence and find they are overpaid. Do they have a sense of shame?
Yes, it is very dangerous to ride in between lanes Bicycles or e bike are definitely not encourage to ride on the outer lanes or zoom in and out. With e bikes rushing in and out, riding opposite direction like in geylang areas are definitely dangerous. Soon you might see e bike riding on the express way.. Strict and frequent enforcements are require. Also why masks especially black masks are allowed by e scooter or e bike rider.
don't expect for cars to suddenly brake when they see you, that's totally dangerous not only for vehicles at their fronts but also dangerous for vehicles at the rear..

Singapore gov should dedicate 1 Lane to bicycles and e-bikes

HOW SAFE IS OUR FOOT PATH FOR OUR PEDESTRIANS BEFORE AND AFTER.?

Pls keep to the LEFT lane, as the LTA is always RIGHT!!
That's where the training for both drivers and riders comes in.
But then cars are a luxury compared to ebikes....

How safe are E-Bikes for our roads?
Thank you
AS you can see from this clip, this rider choose to dash through the side road. in the good old time cyclist, follow people of crossing the road via traffic light or zebra crossing.
Came here from Fortnine talking about e bikes.
We have the wrong kind of e-bikes on the road. These are electric motorcycles. Real e-bikes only provide a small motor to assist pedaling. LTA knows but conveniently ignores all these.
in Malaysia they not allow it that ebike... menteri semua nak duit masuk poket sendiri... ntah bila nak maju ntah
Kau bodoh ke menteri kasi duit beli ebike.. kalau Malaysia makan duit aku pecaya.. tengok 1MDB tu pasal tak maju
Kau ni lembablah singapore kecik lagi satu dia pnya jalan cantik, kat malaysia demand e food meluas serata semananjung, mcd 5 km dari rmh kau berkicaplah.
When you put machines in front of humans and safety , then of course they’ll suffer !!!!! Progress has its costs !!!!! Make the PM ride them for a week and see if the rules change for the better 😅
This is stupid really..moving e-scooter riders from footpaths to e-bikers on to the road..How many lives lost before the Government decide to put out a complete ban on these machines?
MOTORCYCLE BIKE AND EBIKE DISCRIMINATION
ONLYY IN THE PHILIPPINES
E-bikes started surfacing on footpaths these two days! Even though there is a bicycle path parallel to it. Is it because they became bolder after MP meetings? Hope LTA send out more wardens to control the situation especially evening to night time.
This ebike is depends on how long you want to live in this world. Once recklessly will died ok, won't die become vegetable than huat.
No use canceled my comment......pls don't drive like Steve on the road...it's dangerous. You are risking your life. KEEP TO THE SIDE.
Since you deleted my post pls suggest a method to turn right keeping to the. Side ALWAYS
Is it time to have robot car ? Car with sensors to detect and warn other road user and avoid collision.
Not safe at all!
No dedicated lanes for PAB & cyclists, no safety for mobility road users.
All are sitting ducks waiting to be mowed down by cagers!
Don't worry Drone delivery will replace all these services.
then ppl will loose jobs
Oh please....If you want to earn money, there are risks invovled..in most jobs all the same,if its not accidents, its illness or disease...
Soon cars will be ban on road🤣
Singapore road is unsafe the driver never look and they just drive they don't care
This job does not fit in Singapore. Simple
it's better to get a bicycle and ride on footpath
In before all the reckless pmd riders change to bicycle and cause problem again. Back to square one.
Should have a demerit point for pmd in the first place like car license. Ban the user not the vehicle.
Do u know actually bicycle should be ridden on the road as well...
Bicycle is also for road
Singaporean is better to ride.PMD is the best because singaporean if drive car to many problem
Drivers don't care about your safety (& your life)!
2:32 oof
Singapore policy makers should not allow pmd when infra is not ready. Now some are hurt and an aunty died. Why allow knowing it will cause accidents? Being world highest paid govt, this kind of performance gives people no confidence and find they are overpaid. Do they have a sense of shame?
Is the same to those people who walk on the footpath ,we feel unsafe ,as we have nothing to protect ,while those pmd speeding
With more ebike on the road prepare for more accident😱
Shafie Hamzah they are pests
kiasu SG
don't expect for cars to suddenly brake when they see you, that's totally dangerous not only for vehicles at their fronts but also dangerous for vehicles at the rear..
Worst if ur on a bicycle...
Eh e bike also have battery leh womt cause' fire hazard' meh . I swear gahmen gon ban ebike once alot ppl start using.
Next year all change to Ebike on the roads, confirm a lot of accidents everyday.
are u sure u have the right to use the road ? do u have license ? insurance ? car number plate ?
Open your eyes government, arent our lives valuable to u people?
