From being bullied by Biswa Kalyan Rath for not telling a proper horror story to being a celebrity guest to discuss a horror movie, it's great to see how far Kautuk has come 😊
@@patrickstar670 May be he was. Or may be that was really bad ruining gag to bully him on Big Question. I remember Jeveshu being horribly rude on the food episode when he Said Masala Dosa. Thank God it changed with "TISS".
Man if you see that episode and other old SnG episodes you can see Kautuk was actually quite bad with story telling. He would drag it out too much take too many aahs ummss and I might be completely wrong but I think this is something he actively worked on. It also helped his stand up and of course he became the baap of storytelling!
Didn’t expect Raaz to have such a deep discussion about horror movies and analysis of the movie….one of the best episodes ever….the love for a movie by the guest really elevates the episode
Apologies for the delay guys. There was some issue in the back end hence the episode couldn't premier. Mere khyaal se iske peeche kisi aatma ka haath hai.
Excellent guest...on a separate note I just discovered Awful and Awesome podcast by Newslaundry.. you need to bring Abhinandan or Rajyashree as a guest..
I have so many fond memories of Raaz. I alongwith my cousin watched it on a dvd at his home, I was 6 years old, he was 10. We were watching at night, turning off lights and alone. Man, we enjoyed it so much, I remember screaming and shouting, haha. Now, rarely any horror movie scares me, I miss that innocent days.
In KASOOR, Lisa Ray's character's voice got dubbed by Divya Dutta, while Divya Dutta played a role in the movie, for which her dialogues got dubbed by someone else. RAAZ was one of the movies I watched on a pirated VCD at home without knowing who the actors were in the movie. Although I had heard its songs before watching the film, I could not relate to the fact that the tracks belonged to RAAZ
Yeh sheher hai aman ka is the most creepy and unique song I've heard, it sets the tone of the film just right. I watched Raaz when I was 8 years old, it was my first horror movie and I still think it is a great horror movie.
What a fantastic episode! Thank you for calling Kautuk on this podcast, guys. His perspectives and eloquence blow me away every single time. Especially love his take on the "supernatural" being reserved for the obvious victims (women and children) rather than men who tend to be the living monsters. Urjita, here's an opposing perspective to your VFX take. For someone in a love-fearful relationship with the horror genre, subpar VFX takes me out of such movies at the right time.
In horror genre no movie can match Raaz's magic. After Raaz I also appreciate the gothic book "Voyagers of hell" which was so awesome. But nowadays horror movies are worthless.
Haunting of Hill House!! The best horror show EVER. Every rewatch you see something new, notice something different, understand a new angle - that show is nothing short of perfection. Time for the annual Halloween time rewatch of HHH.
@@dev_s21 really. The first song of the album and an instant classic. My personal favourite is Jaaniya. Should be rated among the more popular heartbreak anthems by Arijit Singh.
Vikram Bhatt has been dubbing for his lead actors since Kasoor. Next was Dino Morea in Raaz and then Emraan Hashmi in Footpath. Funnily he also dubbed for the ghosts voices in his films such as Creature (2014)
Now that you have discussed Raaz on the pod next should be Jism. Abbas can start the episode with " Ye jism pyar karna nahi jaanta, ye jaanta hai to sirf bhookh, podcast ki bhookh."

Ah the stark difference is such a joy to watch, kautuk an actual intellectual who is just excited to share his perspective on things beyond the surface level whereas abbas is so pretentious about cinema but does not have any insight beyond the surface level. It sure must be humbling to be around kautuk when you have a false sense of pride with nothing to show for it

Bipasha Basu later did a movie with famed director Roland Joffe and actor Josh Hartnett. Though the movie turned out to be shit, is it possible that Paul McCartney put in a word?😅
A very good episode but the suggestion of Haunted by Urjita, it is not a good movie in my thinking. We went to watch haunted in cinemas when it came out, and we laughed the whole time instead of being afraid or anything.
I think Santana should’ve saved Malini not aditya cuz he committed a murder he was responsible for her death although she killed herself she was psychotic still he started it 0:00
Raaz was from an era where we had family values, traditional, conservative themes in movies. Of course, they had to use the pati, suhaag, pavitra rishta, trope to end the movie.
get your facts right Abbas.RAAZ was a second highest grossing film and was a golden jubilee at the box office as its budget was 5 crores and it made nearly 40 crores at the box office which is equivalent to 200 crores today if we adjust the inflation as their were no multiplexes back then and secondly I'm highly disappointed by this episode as all of u did just didn't discover about Sanjana's character much as she was the hero of the film. Her character is the main reason why this film became such a huge success as she was the modern day sati savitri who puts her life at stake just to save her own husband life which touched many people's hearts.I wish u had called someone better who could dissect this film in a better way.I think I had done a better job than him as this movie is pretty close to my heart as my childhood nostalgia is attached with this film.Sorry but your this episode was a fiasco👎

13-B starring Madhavan can be an amazing double feature... People forget this gem exists.. Super creepy...
Do Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar with Bawa. I know you have already done but I like to see his take as he is so passionate about the movie.

Cool episode. Urjita looking fab♥
This episode is so good.
How bring varun thakur and discuss sangharsh😂
Omg yes I agree with Urjita. Haunted 3d has to be the best horror film by Vikram Bhatt. It is super underrated. The songs are also great in that.

Really enjoyed this episode. Please bring Kautuk again for another episode soon.
It wad adorable seeing Abbas fan boying a little bit over Kautuk

Vikram Bhatt also Dubbed Aftab in Kasoor few years earlier that movie was also nice apart from Apurva Agnihotri

haye! i am the overlapping audience of TISS and HAW (:p) and i'm glad you brought my FAVOURITE TISS-er out of the 4
Jo bhi kasme goes well with the horror theme. The notes and scale makes sense with the horror genre.
It’s so weird to hear Kautuk say my wife and I instead of Siddhi and I 🫣

Guys come on he is a dad now. He is trying to be extra cool to match up with Ira in future😂
Please ask your audio guy to use compressor, your audio is good but needs compression. In short volume is not leveled.
Raaz was ripped off from What Lies Beneath but the whole wife saving the husband from the ghost of a possessive lover was from Mangalsutra(1981).

Now call Hoezaay also!
Shaitan where Madhavan played the supernatural antagonist is a good example where a star agreed to do a horror film.
