- Hey There! I’ve been asked by a number of you which top closure style I prefer, the zip top or flap top, so I decided to do an in depth comparison video. I hope you all find this to be helpful!

Shrek hands...🤣🤣🤣 Love how you always say it as it is Jonathan! I agree, I don’t get it when people say the zip top scratches their hand especially when over time, the leather softens and the opening becomes much easier to pry open. I’ve never had an issue with mine. That being said, your white Lady Dior is just jaw-dropping 😮😮😮 You also made a very valid point about items falling out with the flap top too. Jonathan! I NEEDED this video lol I don’t own a Dior bag yet and I’ve been looking at both new and preloved and had no clue which one to go with so this is amazing!
Glad you found it to be helpful! ✨ Also, go pre-loved, the depreciate like a car. Literally lose value the second you walk out of the store. There’s people selling bags on the preloved market that are practically brand new for close to half of retail!
@@JonathanLucca Thank you! I’ve decided to go preloved for it and I have decided I like the idea of the zipper more, I’ve been pickpocketed once so I’m all about the extra security.
Yes the zipper is better IMO for any size that is larger than the mini!

I have a zip top and I love it
I purchased my black medium LD last month and wonder if I should have opted for the zipper top (if it’s still being made that is.) My only concerns with the flap top is that over time, it will be full of scratches and also the o-rings will leave an indentation on the soft leather.
LOL, I dump everything inside my bag, and all the things party together in there:)
I love the flap top very easy to get into vs a small zipper opening.

No problem and happy to hear it wasn’t taken offensively, just honestly. It’s like people are scared to talk negatively about something and I’m like….we are allowed to have OPINIONS based on our own experiences and mine is that the zipper is fine and feels more secure to me lol. TFW ✨

Does the wide strap perhaps work better cross body or is it too short for that? Love that studded style!
It works more than fine. Truly all based on the structure of your shoulders. I don’t really have the lost broad shoulders which is why it probably slips off easier on me

Can you do a video over the types of leathers on bags
That would be a pretty lengthy video, Like well over 30 minutes. If you Google types of leather from luxury brands, some bloggers and well know resale sites have done extensive articles with up close high quality images of the leather textures. That is going to be more clear and visible for you than via my iPhone camera so I would advise you check those out for the clearest depiction of leathers and textures. Best of luck and TFW!

not really, it’s not that big of a difference in weight. slightly heavier but not much!
Do you recommend for everyday as a first luxury bag?
That’s a hard question, It’s all based on your lifestyle. I don’t use any of my Lady dior’s as a daily bag, primarily because I collect bags so I have a lot of options and I do feel that the style of it works best with a particular style family. TBH 90% of the time I’m using either an Hermès Kelly, Chanel Flap Bag, or Fendi Peekaboo as my Daily. I’m going to do a video coming of of the bags I actually use the most versus bags I use on special occasions
I wish they still made lady diors with zip tops... I feel like with a flap top everything will fall out and be easily pick pocketed lol
TFW Judy! Yes, definitely have to consider your lifestyle. As I said, I totally understood think both styles can work but if someone opts for the flap top, I recommend using pouches or something inside to help items not be lost
Can you do a video on how to authenticate Lady Dior bag?
It’s hard to put that into a video, most of the tips that can be discussed verbally I shared here but a lot of the authentication process in my personal opinion is having things in the hands and just understanding materials, stitch counts, hardware shapes and tones and materials. QUALITY is often the true teller of authenticity when you get up close and personal with items. also the lady dior has a number of variations and also different places the serial number etc may be based on the year of production. there’s some well written articles on it if you Google, I would advise reading those and I think you’d find them far more helpful! I just recently bought a Lady Dior from a friend, everything looks fine except the tag said “MADE IN FRANCE” and date code is ID 1109. I watched a lot of you tubers and they all said made in Italy or Spain. Can Lady Dior made in France?
Dior bags haven’t been produced in France since 1990 so anything after that, including the Lady Dior, would’ve never been made in France as it came out in the mid-90s! Hope that helps! You can also use realauthentication.com and get your bag authenticated but from the sound of it, it’s sadly not authentic. Wishing you the best of luck with finding your answer!
