Haft kul - The seven lakes of Tajikistan

The seven lakes of Tajikistan were formed in an earthquake that collapsed the mountain walls on top of the river in the valley forming natural dams and therefore lakes. Each of the seven lakes are different in size, depth and color and rural villages are located along the chain of lakes. The lakes can be accessed by car or hiking from Penjikent.
