The fact of the matter is that until these games get an actual development cycle, we arent getting a game that should meet modern standards. Legends was a lot of fun but visually was a mess and the gameplay changes needed a lot of tweaking since tbh they didnt work correctly (namely speed system which was an awesome idea just a meh execution). Scarlet and violet were amazing experiences buried underneath abysmal gameplay that pissed me off in equal parts to making me love it. And now with a $35 dlc incoming, and several patches, the game performs worse than ever and theres that mysterious save file corruption that no one knows how to trigger (unless that got solved, im not touching the games until that happens). BDSP were supposed to be the definitive gen 4 experience and ultimately just gave us more of a reason to still just play platinum instead. The only good remakes we've really gotten Id argue were lets go, the gameplay loop was pretty dumb but it was sorta neat and unique, and the game looks and runs amazingly (plus following pokemon are actually good in that game). Even ORAS removed features from emerald like the battle tower/battle frontier, which are like some of the best parts of hoenn to playthrough and having megas and 3 new gens of mons would make it even more interesting.
Either the games need a standard 5 year dev cycle (which wont happen with how massive pokemon is), or GF needs to expand and learn how to actually make a functioning, optimized video game very quickly. Either way, pokemon games are probably gonna be mid for a while before those changes happen, so until then Imma be playing radical red, unbound and inclement emerald. The fans have taken over.

Fans: Gen5 remakes could possibly very well be &, in fact, has a really good chance of being the best Pokemon game ever.
Didn't we said the same exact thing about Sinnoh? Oh wait we did! & look how that turned out.

Honestly, I hope they don't. Gen 5 has its own charms that makes it very unique from other gen and I'm afraid Gamefreak is just out of touch to realize what made it so special.

If they do have remakes based off of B,W,B2,W2 then honestly I don't think they can ever do any of those single sets of games justice with just remakes or remasters or one for one copies or something more like Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, they need to make a Legends Arceus style open world game taking place across both, past, present, and future Unova. Where in the ancient past and distant future the Unova region is actually known by it's Beta name only briefly present in one piece of official promotional material for Black and White. Alleos.
The Alleos Region. While Unova pulls it's origin from Universal, One, Of One signifying it's connection to being a singular point of multiple many different cultures and people all coming from different places but being one in the same and comings together as one, Alleos which was used only in a single bit of official pre-release footage and promotional material in the U.K may take it's origins from Aeolus, the king of the Titans, the First and Original Titan, the Titan of the Sky and Heavens in Greek and Roman Mythology. Where he was the only peaceful Titan who treated life with care and was married to the Titan of the planet, the Earth Titan Gaia. All his children the other Titans took their powers over nature far too extreme and destroyed life with their violent powers. He was their father and Gaia's mate but confronted them to try try and stop them from destroying life and show restraint to create it rather than destroy. After becoming enraged of her husbands compassion to life which she viewed as weakness, she killed him violently tearing him apart by blasting him into infinite pieces that were shot so far with so much force they spread across the universe and where scattered to create the stars and sky, and he became the very heavens itself. But he ultimately still won and sealed all the Titans including Gaia herself into dormant states of nature that would become parts of the planet and create life with Gaia becoming the very planet Earth itself, forced to harbor and create life instead of destroying it. Because by blasting her husband quite literally "into the heavens itself" it made him grow far larger and all encompassing to become all there is in existence, he quite literally became the heavens itself and thus rained down upon her and all the Titans, banishing and burying them, sealing the Titans into Tarturus, the Hell of the Gods and Titans.
Alleos seems to pull from a combination in that sense from All encompassing, All there is, one singularity, always expanding, always growing, spreading out to cover all there is, reaching for and beyond the heavens. This in a way is like the same as the inspiration for Unova but rather than just the center or starting point of all things this is on a completely different scale to where it means all point, the start, middle, and finish, the center, and everywhere else and in between, all expansive and reaching everywhere out to everything and everyone. Unova being "the point of everything" to Alleos being "ALL OF EVERYTHING"
What better way to have the next Legends Arceus style Pokémon game being the next Open World Pokémon game and actually being an open world Legends Arceus style game where it takes everything learned from Gens 8 and 9 and Sword and Shield, Legends Arceus, Scarlet and Violet, and combines it into what will become the prelude and precursor to the Generation that takes place double the Generations that Generation 5 was back in 2011 over a decade ago. This Legends Unova game would be the basis for THE BIG GENERATION OF POKÉMON, the one that we will never see again because humanity will be long gone by that time we'd reach 3 digit numbers. That's right, two times the Generations as Gen 5, the generation where we got the Unova region and journeyed through it not once but TWICE. Generation 10. Just IMAGINE what everyone would think if that happens, if A Legends Arceus style game for the Unova region known as The Alleos Region would become what would be known and used for Gen 10 just as Legends Arceus before it served for Scarlet and Violet in Gen 9 which is where we are right now.
All there is of everything indeed.

I just realized given the lore behind The Tao Trio and the only seldom heard of Original Dragon of Unova, the Greek and Roman Mythology connection there with the Beta name of the Unova Region being Alleos makes even more sense then I even originally imagined. So yeah, fingers crossed, knock on wood for something this grand of caliber happening someday when we eventually return to Gen 5 and Unova.

Yoooo imagine the true fused dragon represents the first domino that would later lead to the epidemic of Dynamax Pokémon?
Like really think about it: You have the embodiments of truth and ideals in the pure vessel of absence, fused into one ungodly unholy beast that presumably doesn’t wish to fuel truth or ideals but wishes to represent falsehoods and control.
Arceus gets a “I sense a disturbance in the force” moment, uses some of his godly power to separate the three dragons at the cost of losing one of his thousand arms, that being Eternatus, and the three dragons are no more.
However this causes a domino effect cuz the energy of this insane dragon, plus the unstoppable force that is fucking god, has to go somewhere…so in Alola we have shards of their former power represented in uncontrollable Z shards, and this would attract the attention of Ultra Necrozma to show up for his universe eating snack.
The remaining energy would have to be absorbed by the mindless Eternatus, now separated from Arceus and in itself goes freakishly insane, so Arceus has to go into damage control one last time and give a lesser “blessing” of power to two dogs who can specifically counter large gigantimax Eternatus WITHOUT GOING INSANE AND EVIL IN A NEVER ENDING CYCLE.
    Buuuuuuut…
Thanks to the phenomena of Scarlet and Violet accidentally dragging Pokémon back from the past and future, what if an amalgamation of Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem from the past, or a never unfused dragon from the future, show up in current day? New evil team tries to conquer it but fails miserably and this time Arceus ain’t getting involved in case he screws the pooch AGAIN.
And like every game with uncontrollable gods, it’s up to a 10 year old with insane imagination to take it down
(Thanks for coming to my useless Ted talk, enjoy my rambling)

Gamefreak uses the Pokemon games as a marketing tool for the brand because merchandise sells even more.
