You're incredible 😍 I'm a 48 french woman and Manu Chao has been something huge in France 20 years ago and the album where you find these 2 songs is in my top 3 albums of all times, just amazing !! He was a real star here and in all Europe too so that's why Ren listened and loved so much Manu Chao 😉 So good ! And those 2 songs by the Big Push.... Fire 🔥 Thanks so much 😘
I often don’t push my requests, but you HAVE to see either Praise You or What Kind of Woman is This by Big Push! Oh, pleeeeeeeeze. Both are bangers and all are featured in solos (vocal and instruments). Ya gotta!!!!
Great reaction as always! It's worth noting that Bongo Bong went through several incarnations with Manu Chao. In fact, he mashed it up with Je ne t'aime plus in a later version of the song. The Big Push moved the French part from the end to the second to last verse, which works beautifully.
@@A-AronReacts, I'm hardly an expert. Unlike you, this video was my first exposure to Manu Chao. It inspired me, though, to binge his work for a while. He's an amazing artist!
The Big Push are such an exceptional combination; each one of their singular talents mesh so well. You can sense the mutual respect and love they share for each other and the music. This video was filmed during lockdown which is partly why we have the rooftop filming session.
It’s very rare to see a band and it not be clear who is privileged to play alongside the other..gifted beyond my comprehension. Seasons greetings Aaron 🎉
Great reaction I’m really enjoying your energy. It’s like opening presents 🎁 at Christmas and watching you not know what’s going to happen next. I guess that’s the gift Ren and the fabulous artists he is flowing with. Peace and love from Australia mate ❤
I think you'd really enjoy The Big Push mashed up medley of "These boots were made for walking/Everybody/Satisfaction " your ability to assess the musicianship involved in the layering and culmination of singing in rounds will surely appreciate dissecting it .... it is impressive... I love it. It's sung in a laundrette (laundromat). Brilliant
Hey Aaron! So glad you finally got to Bongo Bong! This is such a fabulous song and the original is just as good as The Big Push's version. This was a very simple production. Only editing was for volume levels, EQ, some basic color correction due to the time of day, and cutting out of their footage they took. This was recorded on a rooftop of the apartment building they lived together in and a bunch of friends in Brighton on a beautiful summer early evening. Romain is playing a ukulele, Gorran is playing an electric bass, and Ren is on an acoustic guitar. Just a bunch of their busking Shure mics and Ren's laptop. This is a purely joyful song with such silly lyrics. Interestingly, the side parts where they just sing the same lines over and over is actually sung by a female backup artist and Manu Chao. It's amazing how they took a largely feminine role in the piece and made it fit their own tones and styles. For more really fun, dancing-like, songs, I highly recommend Why My Woman? (The Big Push original) or What You Want (Ren original). Much peace and love to you as always darling. ^^
I thought it might be mandolin but went with ukulele. Not being a string player myself (at least never professionally), I clearly need to look up pics to understand the difference
I own a copy of that Manu Chao album, and still listen to it from time to time. Both tracks covered by The Big Push here basically use the same base/beat with different lyrics and melody over it.
People talk about the original, but... The original original was from Manu's ex-band *Mano Negra* and was more of a punk-ish take. Titled 'King of Bongo', it was on an album of the same name.

The fact you already knew the songs they covered... THAT's why I like coming to your reactions. Music appreciation from a real music appreciator.

Agree with both of these.
I agree with the last 2 requests! Those 2 songs are soooooo good❤

Good to know...thanks! Yeah I'm not super familiar with him actually. Had kinda a binge listening to him many years back and that's about it

This is one of my favorites. They are all so joyful and it is such a great vibe!😊
This is such a go-to when it's a gray day! 💜
Love this one, its one of the few ren songs that i cal let the kids hear😂
I love this one, and I think you're the only person I've ever seen to pick up the way they mixed things together.

I have the same Manu Chao cd, one of my favorites.
I have the original version on an old Manu CD and was delighted to learn that Ren and the Big Push did this beautiful cover.
❤❤❤
I think I prefer this to the original.

Oh wow, I actually didn't realize that...thanks
@Malfehzan I just heard it on the Mano Negra channel because of this comment. I'm glad I did. Thanks for the info...
Gorran rhymes with foreign. GOR-un.
