If I could like this comment 1000 time if I could! I’m not one to complain in YT comments but I felt like he was telling my story when he was talking about his wife. 😤
This is one of my favorites off the album. And it hits even harder after you've seen his chapters which is why im glad you did this after those 😊 i actually find a lot of similarities between this and slaughter house. Just the way the songs are put together and the layers 🥹💜 and yes, he was 33 when he released this. Good catch 💜
Honestly, the best from you (in regards to Ren) that I've seen since your original meeting with our beloved SICK BOI in 'Hi Ren'.. can't wait to see your take on Ren's personal and professional growth as you delve (hopefully?) into 'Slaughterhouse'...and yes, brushing up on your Vonnegut may prove fruitful. 😁
@@A-AronReacts I'm aware that you reacted to _the song._ 'Slaughterhouse' is not just a titled song, but also the name of the entirety of his _next album._ That was to which I was referring.
We have a very supportive community here in the fan groups because the people who have been encouraged by Ren want to give back and it filters down, kindness can be catching . Like with Wynands song! Great that you feel the same, and enjoyed your reaction as always ❤
I was horrified by that story about how your wife was treated in hospital after her accident. Absolutely disgusting behaviour by the medical staff there. All the best to her xx
The songs on Sick Boi had been recorded and most had been held back for release while Ren was in treatment in "23. The only songs on the album that were written in '23 was the "add-on" end to Suicide, Money Game 3 and this one. This was originally just meant to be an intro, but Ren said he got "carried away."
Love love love this song! It's like five songs in one and the transistions are FLAWLESS. The flows and the beat! Yeah, you're getting it! You noticed so many details in this! Fantastic reaction, so happy to listen to this with you. This is also Ren's own favourite song from the album.
One month short of my sixty sixth birthday and have followed Ren for the last 18 months and this is by far my utmost favourite of songs. It’s just so complete. Great reaction. Keep up the good work.
This is one of my favourite songs by Ren! There’s a word in this that I find so cleverly used! Forensic . For Ren’s sick. So well written!!! Such a masterpiece, indeed!!! ❤
The first time I heard this song was directly after I managed to crawl my way out of my own grave. "Have you ever felt pain?" was met with a bleak and exhausted "yes." Pretty much everything he went through and describes in this song, I know all too well. And, like Ren, the health conditions that led to my narrow miss are not resolved; in fact, at the time that I write this, neither of them are even sometimes curable. I have a seizure disorder, always have, but in 2020 I developed a mild case of long covid and in 2023 that was exacerbated by either ME/CFS or more long covid. These two joined forces, triggering a train of seizures that I could not stop that attacked my central nervous system. I was in horrific pain for around 8 months, largely bed bound, so nauseous and dizzy I couldn't eat and became malnourished, and there is MRI imagery of my brain beginning to pull apart in the brain stem. I saw death coming for me and refused to give in. I hounded my doctors to put me on gabapentin. If I hadn't, I would not be capable of writing this comment It's been about 7 months since the seizures stopped enough for me to begin to heal. I'm still recovering, still in a lot of pain sometimes, but starting to find some strength again. It's beena hard road to recovery and life's circumstances did not help (Un?)Fortunately for me, I am incredibly stubborn
❤ I'm so sorry that you have suffered so much 😢 I truly hope they find out what's going on and help you or at the very least your body is able to fight back so you're not in so much pain❤
@albamartinez4987 Unfortunately I know what is wrong. It's treatable, to a degree, but not curable at this time. Basically, the RSV and/or Covid got into the part of my brain that causes seizures and became ME/CFS. It's in other places too, but there it's causing alllll kinds of problems. With seizure medicines, with strict rest and recuperation, with imposed limits on how much and how often I work, I will be okay in time. I can regain stamina if I am careful. But these things are not repairable at this time
Wow, I'm so sorry. I'm thinking about interviewing people such as yourself that deal with great hardship and have been impacted by Ren's work and sharing with him. Would you be open to being interviewed? If so, please ping me at aaronreactsyt@gmail.com
@A-AronReacts I sent you a message ! I'd definitely be open to that. He gives a lot of hope and connection to people with similar experiences, I think it's important for him to hear that
This song is my absolute favourite Ren song!! I feel like he’s talking for me. I have a rare autoimmune condition and I have damaged nerves in my spinal cord, 24/7 pain! And this is how I actually feel. Bloody love Ren ❤
Oh my that is just awful. I'm thinking about interviewing people such as yourself that deal with great hardship and have been impacted by Ren's work and sharing with him. Would you be open to being interviewed? If so, please ping me at aaronreactsyt@gmail.com
This is one of the most creative songs from Ren. You know his story, so you it is autobiographical. It perfectly illustrates the pain he went through. I believe he is still traumatized by the Lyme disease, still dealing with it. I love the dark lyrics here coupled with the innovative music. Good reaction, too. You’re right, this is a masterpiece.
16:22 Ren wrote this in 2023 when he was 33. He said this is one of the few songs on Sick Boi he wrote in 2023. The rest were songs he had already written. This was just supposed to be an intro to the album and instead he made this amazing song. This song hits me in my soul every time I listen to it as I suffer from some of the same issues as Ren and it has been 20 years that I've been dealing with it and it's only getting worse each year for me.
We moan about our NHS over here but my god how Americans cope with these insurers I've no idea. I thought drs were meant to Do No Harm. Hopefully your wife is ok now💙🇬🇧
Sadly the NHS is on collapse, too many people needing treatment , and government not investing, no hospitals being built, doctors hard to see, only clinicians.. A&E departments packed with people needing emergency operations (sitting on ordinary waiting room chairs), and no beds. And it’s getting worse. It looks set-up to fail. System in fast decline.
It’s my first time on your channel and I really enjoyed your reaction. He has a piano piece that’s a dedication to one of his friends that passed. He has a couple songs about his best friend that took his own life named Joe, but he has another friend that drowned named McKay And he did a song by that title, which is just a piano piece. One I think you would really enjoy it as a composer and two there’s very few reactions to it online so that would add a nice element as well. Hopefully you’ll give it a shot. I’m gonna subscribe and see what you have coming down the pike.
Fantastic song and reaction! Finding Ren's music has helped me feel less alone. Fighting mental illness all my life, then became chronically ill with ME/CFS three years ago. It's comforting to have music that speaks on those things. Take care. 💛💛💛
I am on year 50 of ME/CFS. Know that it can be done. Even through this veil of excruciating pain, being a conscious being on a planet teeming with life in a mostly dead universe is a rare privilege. 💖💖💖
Wow. I'm thinking of interviewing folks going through tough times impacted by Ren's work and then sharing with him / compiling into something. Would you be open to interviewing? If so, please email me at aaronreactsyt@gmail.com
A-aron, thanks for another great reaction 👍❤ With Ren it's of course difficult, but it's one of my favorite songs 🙂. - As @Stewart-m7i already stated "Probably the most autobiographical lyrically dense song by Ren". As he describes in Chapter 6, the lines "I lay broken on the kitchen floor. I clawed at the laminate." at the beginning is what happend his fecal transplantation catastrophically went wrong. - As far as I know the lines "God tied a noose to his neck..." are what he saw during a psychosis. - Do you know the tragic background of Clapton's song 'Tears in heaven'? He wrote it after his four-year-old son Conor, fell out of a window and died in 1991. And finally the most important point you made IMHO: Ren is by far not half a man! He is for sure one of the greatest of the century.
This is one of my top three Ren songs. No idea how often I have listened to it. but it took me till your pause to talk about half a man that I realised the connections to the Uruk-Hai, who were thought to be crossbreeds of orcs and men. Orcs themselves were created by transforming elves through prolonged and unfathomable torture until their bodies and minds had been irrevocably warped. So is Ren here then half tortured creature, orc, and half still man? Morgoth, who creates the orcs, would then stand for the Lyme disease and ensuing other autoimmune aspects. Wow.
People in the states don’t understand. In college a friend was trying to reach something out a third story window and fell. I could hear him screaming - from a broken arm and other injuries.. You know what he was screaming? Insurance insurance. He made me call his insurance company before i called 911. Want to know the ending? Fuckers denied him. I drove him even though I was scared to move him and he also refused any pain meds cause he couldn’t afford it. Did I mention he had insurance? Oddly my anger towards insurance grew with my own experience but I remember that feeling of watching someone scream knowing they didn’t have to suffer is brutal. Thanks for sharing because it is not ok.
Thank you for calling that out. He's not half a man. He might feel that way - but as you say, Ren is far more of a man than most. Not half a man, so so so much more than that. More than just a man, he's an inspiration and a powerhouse of hope.
Probably the most autobiographical lyrically dense song by Ren. I've never experienced the same level of Pain as Ren, my stomach pains due to Appendicitis seem mild by comparison. Sorry to hear about your Wifes experience, it makes me appreciate the NHS, here in the UK. Great reaction as ever.
Love your Ren reactions ❤ I've watched this song hundreds of times 😮😅 and think your reaction is the best, you're so switched into Rens mind...genuinely. when you talked about Ren not being born half a man, made me cry 😢. He's a very, very special person, I've never know anybody like him, this song is beyond brilliant 👏 ❤️ ❤
This is such an epic opening track to the album. It perfectly sets the theme and also summarizes the entire album. An the relentless beat and strings are total.
I live with chronic pain which gets levels on the chronic pain scale, not regular pain. I have not been below number 6 in 11 years. I have crawled into the hospital in such pain that I don’t want to be here anymore. I’m so sorry for the pain your wife went through. Pain is no joke. Thanks for your analysis of my favorite song on the Sick Boi album ❤
Wow, so sorry to hear. I'm thinking about interviewing people such as yourself that deal with great hardship and have been impacted by Ren's work and sharing with him. Would you be open to being interviewed? If so, please ping me at aaronreactsyt@gmail.com
I sure didn't feel any fun or desire to dance in those first verses. I rocked my body deeply remembering in Cjapters when he was falling into psychosis in so much pain on yhe kitchen floor when he was 25. This was the first track on Sick Boi album but the last one he wrote. It was 13 years from when his symptoms started.
Welsh sounds evil? To me it’s more like a beautiful elvish language 😅 Seven Sins is one of my favourite Ren songs! A brilliant and *fo-Ren-sic* dissection of pain to give us a small window into the hell he has been through. Not only that, but he is also breaking down the seven sins and how they can turn our species into a “sickness” of the world - especially greed. All to a fire beat 🔥 The song is also just the perfect opening track for the Sick Boi album. When you get deep enough into the rabbit hole to have listened to the full album, you will notice how it’s like a Reniverse tapestry of interconnected lyrics and references with this song hinting at what’s to come. I gotta say though… as Ren keeps growing and more people get to know him, the line “prophets get dropped imagining heaven” is sounding more and more foreboding. He is out there saving lives by giving us hope, inspiring positive change in the world, and asking us to look past our differences to come together as that is the only way he imagines us surviving as a species. There better not be any crazy people out there who would ever want to hurt him for attention! 🫣 We need Ren in the world ❤🐰🕳️

Yes I've seen it (long time ago) and was aware...thanks. I guess to your point though, I didn't mention that. I guess my first reference point is always One and not the original. Perhaps because I truly grew up with Metallica (would literally sit out in the garage wailing out guitar solos by myself for hours daily during my teen years)
I know I'm a bit late but a good recommendation too react to has to be "Ren & Sam Tompkins - Earned it /Mans World / Falling" this one really shows Ren's musical talent and how he sees different things to link in music.

When an ambulance arrives to the hospital with a woman in labor, they ask for the payment first, before they open the car door.
Sadly it's about to get a lot worse 😅 (send help)
@@szolanekI know!!!!! The NHS is shocking but having a baby 👍 payment before care that’s absolutely outrageous 🫣🫣✋
That why Luigi is a hero. We all have stories like this. Stories of being abused and manipulated but our government and health care lobby.
Absolutely right. Another masterpiece. Enjoyed your reaction. Thanks ❤
