I’m from Tx and in April I visited Ft Meyers and had a blast even tho I’m 68. I saw the egg casings and figured out what they were and wasn’t sure if I could collect them so I kept walking. When I got back to Tx I had 11lbs of shells. I couldn’t help myself so I decided to come back real soon. Thank you for the lesson on casings

I had the opportunity to find octupus eggs that were not only viable, but that were about to hatch. I could actually see the tiny octupi through the walls of the eggs, which were laid in a monster stiff Pen Shell. Of course I put them back in the water, but wished I had my camera with me that day-collecting a photo of them would have been awesome!

Sarah, we have a lot of FL fighting conchs in SW FL. I've never seen their egg casings and you didn't show them either. Do they not lay them?

How beautiful and diverse nature is, and I've learned a lot from you in a short time; however, what I thank you for the most is your repeated messages of making sure there are not still viable little creatures inside.
This CANNOT be stated enough as humans can't seem to leave anything alone! 😢
