This was so enjoyable to listen to! Your husband is hilarious and all of his references to things cracked me up. It was also really interesting how much he was able to, like, distill down to the basics of why so many people love this series (easy to follow, fun characters, makes you want to read on, etc.). The way he described his thoughts was really insightful. I feel like I’ve personally been more negative about the series over time, but it really reminded me of why I truly loved the first book so much when it came out. Very excited to see his opinions on the next book(s)!!

This was so fun! I read book one last summer and didn’t love it enough to continue on straight away. I’ve had loads of people tell me that book two is the best one and that I should keep going. Those matching retro Mickey sweatshirts tho 😍
I get it. It’s one of my favorite trilogies but the first book is really not great 😂 important foundational things but the good stuff picks up in book 2! If you typically like fantasy I think you should give it another chance. Obviously it’s not for everyone, but you might find you like books 2 and 3 more. ❤️
