When I was coming out of a very long depression, ACOTAR was the first book I read in a long, long time. Years. I devoured the series in a few days. In ACOMAF, it says "Where all that color and light and texture had once dwelled, there was only a filthy prison cell". And as someone that had lost all creativity when my depression struck, I had never felt more seen. I'm now working on my own fantasy novel.

I really love that for you!! And so have I. I just got surgery on my knee almost 4 months ago and have been out of work and my depression had spiraled out of control. My sisters always talked about ACOTAR and I was hooked. It had been the first book I picked up in quite some time and I love it. I just finished ACOMAF and started ACOWAR and I cannot wait to continue
Sarah has re-ignited my imagination & love for reading I had when I was younger. And to see so many others pick up her books and feel the same way. Me too! I used to be an insane reader as a kid … the kid who would read books walking to class. Then around high school, it just kind went away. I’m 29 now and these books like sparked something in me and I’m so excited to write and read again. I love it 😭

Yes! I loved ToG! I think it would be so cool if she somehow warped all 3 series together in the end but that’s just me. Aelin is my all time favorite book character ❤
@@ceciliale5276 yes!! Same. And it has been so long since we got anything new from the series. I am craving to see how the kingdom is flourishing, my girl deserves the peace she is getting and I just want to read the happy times even if it's just one chapter.

ACOTAR reignited my passion for reading that i had as a little girl and as someone who suffered so greatly from depression it was an incredible story that dealt with mental health and seriously brought me back
I am 49 and two years ago I began this journey when my 20 (at the time) year old daughter brought me ACOTAR and said, read this. She is a book lover who has 700 plus books in her library. I read it and was hooked. I immediately read the rest and as I finished the 4th book, ACOSF came out.
I felt sad it was over when I finished and in researching future books found TOG. A bit out of order but I read all the books in about 3 months. I have now read and reread them all. I can’t express how amazing the writing and stories are. It’s been so enjoyable!

I hope no one thinks these books are just for women (editors of this interview, I'm looking at you) A friend of mine mentioned they were reading ACOTAR and it brought me out of a 10+ year reading slump. Sarah Maas has become my favorite author, I love her worlds and interesting characters.

I’m reading ToG and it’s the first fantasy book I’ve read in about 10 years. It’s reigniting my interest and joy in reading fantasy novels because I used to be really into them and they were such a huge source of comfort and escapism. I need that right now, it’s helping me to heal ❤
I have alwaysed loved reading Mary Zimmer Bradly and now Sarah moved into first place. My niece introduced these to me and I could ot put ANY of the books down. Just love the strong women characters. THANK YOU for making the love stories real love and not codependent love. BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL stories.
I discovered Sarah years ago with reading her throne of glass series! I’m currently reading her court of thornes and roses! She’s a crazy fast beautiful writer!! I personally think throne of glass is her TOP! Reading ACOTAR is kind of different for me but I’m slowly liking it so far :) I hear it gets good!

Her books helped me get into the fantasy genre. I started on the ACOTAR series toward the end of last year and I'm starting ACOSF today. I've enjoyed them immensely! I'm excited for the ACOTAR hulu series to come out! 😄 Her newest CC book was just released and I'm experiencing a great deal of FOMO as I still have the Throne of Glass series to read yet.
ACOTAR brought me back into reading two years ago and I'm currently on my second run through TOG (first was through audio-books and I just needed to read it myself). But Crescent City is by far my favourite series and I cannot wait for HOFAS. Unfortunately, as a German, I have to wait two more months for it to come out here (certain stories I need to read in my native language to fully enjoy them) but I'm sure it'll be worth it. @lauren-vl5fc they do have a choice though. Rhys said himself that Elain will never be forced to accept a bond and that as long as she is in his court, no one will do Blood duels if they feel entitled to her, which Lucien would never do

It’s sad to say but I’m 21 yrs old and I don’t remember the last time I truly sat down and was completely CAPTIVATED by a book… until I picked up ACOTAR 5 days ago. I’ve never been a huge fan of reading bc it’s hard for me to stay focused and actually read for a long period of time, BUT I COULD NOT PUT THIS ONE DOWN. Not a fan of feyre lol but its so action packed and exciting

My 18 year old son gave me ACOMAF for Christmas. He and his sweet girlfriend were perusing down the isles of BAM. He thought I would like this Book because I like Law, Crime, and Detective type books. Upon my research,” Google” I soon realized that #1, it had nothing to do with Court Stuff, Law and Crime, and # 2 it was the second book in the series. 😂 Bless His Heart!
Long story short, I bought ACOTAR. Now I’m on ACOMAF. I’m a HUGE fan and there is no going back. And here I am. 😂🧚🏼♀️🧚🏽🤗

They’ve been working on writing the Hulu season 1 for ACOTAR with SJM and one of the writers that did Outlander but last I heard it was stalled because there are creative differences between the two writers.

She is my IDOL! I too started writing narrative pieces around when I was 14 in 2011 after being introduced to the Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon, and later realized that I wanted a career like Sarah J's at some point within my lifetime as well.
