I think this was the peak of Astral Chain. The final boss was epic and all but something about this fight was just pure hype.
the gameplay of the legion fusion mode is great and fun, that and the music combine to make this fight amazing, although i dont know why the musics so quiet in this video
The music is what did it along with the cutscene that leads into the final part of the fight
i would say the music makes this part so good

The pure manifestation of hype was when I was spamming ZR + ZL and the music hit and you felt like a straight up badass

This game for me went from picking up trash in the streets and getting kids balloons back to full on Asura's Wrath/anime battle...and I'm okay with that.

Two teens enter their stands for a final showdown
After Jena was killed, i was asking myself how could they top this. How could they possibly top the sheer Epicness of Jena's Final fight.
When I saw how, i couldn't actually believe my own eyes
This game is anime as hell... And I love it

kinda wish theyd just gone with alt characters but with actual voices/personality instead of character creation. like its nice to have choice but i much more prefer story

For me, as soon as she said “I just want to talk to him” I laughed since the guy is a mute. Really wish silent protagonists would stop being a thing
i dont mind it but dont make the protagonist silent if you make it so they can actually talk, its not like the playable characters a mute, they talk on multiple occasions, you can choose what to say in some instances and in others when you cant the NPCs you talk to say things that indicate you actually replied to them, and whats more annoying is the fact that they clearly have voices actors for both genders, so its not like its a case of "we have a voice actor for this one but not this one"
dont get me wrong, i LOVE the game and i dont absolutely despise the playable character not talking, but i dont see why they didnt go the extra mile to make them talk when its clear they do talk and they have the voice actors for them, (SPOILERS INSIDE THESE BRACKETS: instead of making it so the only time you hear your characters voice is in the begining cutscene of file 12) hell i dont see why they didnt make all characters talk at all times instead of only have recorded lines for cutscenes and other specific lines outside of them
@TheDaxter11 Yeah, i still love the game but just like it was for dragon quest 11 so many moments got ruined by a character talking to you and waiting for your response only to get a nod or grunt, at least this game had more facial expressions but really was annoyed by people talking for you through your sibling or Hal.
The only time i accept a silent protagonist is in big open world games like elder scrolls or fallout where there are so many ways you can go about things and choices you make that it makes sense to not be able to voice it all but astral chain's choices mainly come down to yes or no. If they did voice both i think there would have been a lot more emotional moments a.k.a your dad staying behind, your sister getting stabbed by Jena and this, i mean if this fight did not have you scream during the transformation it would not have been as good so why not add them trying to talk to their sibling
It's especially weird when Platinum has had multiple voiced protagonists and they are always great
Like, could you imagine Bayonetta or Wonder Red as a silent protag ??
And since you can pick between the brother or sister anyway, they both essentially still have a "canon personality/voice/way of speaking", just not when they are the MC, which makes it even more awkward imo
So far, the only two games I've played where the custom character _isn't_ completely silent are Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi and Saints Row IV. The mute protag thing does NOT work for Astral Chain. Just look at 3:07 onwards. Let my custom characters speak, goddamnit!!
I like how they still show emotion just without words and more facial expressions
Imagine the power mode having all abilities of the different legions like the power knuckle from the arm legion, rapid fire crossbows from arrow, a large claw blade for axe and possibly of a quick time style dodge of the beast legion
That would have been hella cool
Kyle McCarley is truly at his best playing snarky robots, I love his voice acting of Hal in this sequence

Interestingly when playing as the male, The song is sung by a dude. I'm gonna assume the songs are being sung by both Male and Female Akira.
Except male is Auto Tuned because hes not that great.
Nah auto tune was a stylistic choice , everyone who was decently paying attention knew that , why would they hire a incompetent singer , they have two different versions of the song they can’t sing at the same tone. I feel like the female was to perform a upbeat energetic vibe and the male was supposed to represent the robotic nature of the legion. Being used as a pet and being less of a human enslaved within a Mechanical device. It kinda fits also with your robotic personality because the main protagonist doesn’t speak for both genders and the legion is 50% of you and when you fuse you embrace it. So both male and female songs fit the theme differently.

I just explained lmaoo. The male could represent the legion , more robotic and enslaved my technology. I just literally said they sing two different tones did you even listen to the song. Let along both versions? It even stated in the middle of the fight that the legion was 50% of your body and they share the same blood and when they combine they’re one. The two songs show the two sides of the character respectfully, the girl sings in her true voice and upbeat while the male has this robotic feeling like he’s not human. It ain’t that hard to understand. And let me play devils advocate since you don’t understand . You said if they had two good singers they would make more money ? Then why would they hire a trash singer based on your logic ? Why so they can lose money ? Why would they hire a mediocre singer in the first place ? What’s special about his voice ? Well you can’t give me an answer because you don’t know why. And if his voice was truly bad how come he didn’t use auto tune in the intro song in the first chapter? Cmon man use your brain.

Honestly I loved fighting my sibling because its basically two Goliath going at it and its just fun and so hype but part of me was kind of crying because you have to fight your sibling that you care about but it was still so epic

@@heejincider4905 can confirm. finished that mission yesterday. it basically becomes a ultimate move that you charge by doing certain moves.
@@AURESHION What moves actually charge it? I used it before the final boss unwittingly and now I regret it since I had him at a smidget of his health and couldve used it sooner

This is the absolute best part of the entire fucking game, especially since it's preceded by a huge, slow stealth segment. Makes it even more satisfying. Fuck I gotta replay this.
This fight is very cool, but it’s pretty sad it gives you a mode you can outdamage with the X-baton’s Gladius mode while ur legion is out aka always

Came looking for the best part of the game only to find someone created the exact same character as I did! I just created Rei from Evangelion. Even named her Rei, too.

This section was so infuriating! I disabled most of the UI so I couldn't see the prompt to "fuse". Stupid design. So basically, all you have to do is run in circle on beast until everybody is done with there monologue. You don't have to fight Akira or raise Sync level at all, you just have to wait for the prompt to fuse to show up.

The music sync during this scene is insane. The two transformed twins staring at each other “this could be the end of light, this could be the end of us” and then the sickest wide shot of both of them in the centre of a storm. “Just as I was about to give up…”
The setup dude to this scene was amazing the reveal of the crows, the death of akira (spoiler for a year old game) and the sinc of the song with the fight it's just amazing, one of the best rival encounters in any videogame... (Not the best thou, but right there in the top 5)

from what i have seen, you might be able to use it once or twice per file depending on where it was at the start, the infirmary has an item that fills it, costs a lot but it's worth it
This game has so much potential for sequel material. I take it, this isn't accessible outside of this fight?
Actually after this battle you unlock it as a transformation for the rest of the game need to have your sync rate at Max to activate though

Ugh i keep getting a C on this akira boss thing. Not sure how you get an S+ on it. Doesnt matter how hard i try i keep getting a C. 🤔 maybe im missing something.
I've even beat it with no item usage and no deaths.
@@guitarman15002 I don't think item usage is affected (I could be wrong) but you need to use every skill at your disposal one the Ravens before you get to fighting akira
the way i got S+ is straight up do not get hit, just dont get hit and stack up as much combos as possible via swapping from legion to legion, like the arm legion and beast legion have a good combo together, while when you finish a massive combo with the sword legion ideally should swap to the arrow legion to carry it on. plus its also dependent on what you do for the rest of the level e.g. getting caught or not in the stealth segment.
heres a list i found that sort of explains it better
Always make correct use of your sync finishers or the sync attacks to receive more end-game points,
Make sure that you use the variety of your Legions.
Try to hit critical backstab hits consecutively.
Get multiple Chain Binds.
Put the combat-time to effective use, since it will matter as well.
Use your cool down attacks.
Do not stick to a single skill, use different skills profoundly.
Try not to break your ability combos, as this prevents you from landing those ‘chic’ moves that are generous for your overall/end-game score.

I finished my first playthrough this week with the male Howard twin.
I want to do my next playthrough as the female twin as her version of the song 'Dark Hero' sounds much better than the male version.

@@nekbox5407 Yeah it would've been better if both the twins talked regardless of which one is the "main" one. Then again, that would take a lot more voice recording and work on their part. Platinum did mention that the story wasn't even going to have twins and was only going to follow one of them.
