To me, the song is really about Zayn’s career, and how unhappy he was a lot of the time in One Direction (something he’s been open about in interviews) and worrying that he may have wasted all his “good years” for making the music he wants to make. I like the idea of you revisiting songs a year later. 👍

(I pray to god I didn’t waste all my good years=he said when he left that he just wanted to be a “normal” 20 something yr old and do what they do in their 20s) (crowd of a thousand tears=the fans/audience when they found out he’s leaving/isn’t there) etc : )
