It should be. I don't know what can compete with it. The last of us part 2 split the fan base, leaving a lot of people upset, Ghosts of Tsushima was good but people stopped talking about it a couple days after release, AC Valhalla should be good but not GOTY worthy, it's a game made in 4-5 years whereas Cyberpunk is 8+ years now with decades of lore. It makes sense cyberpunk is top

Eh, I have a broader spectrum. I won't speak on Cyberpunk until the game actually comes out - but for now? For now, my picks are Supergiant's Hades and Sucker Punch's Ghost of Tsushima. I'm confident enough that 2077 is going to be good enough to have me rethink those two top tiers, but I'm still wary of the gunplay mechanics. Gearbox managed to make it stick with the Borderlands series, but I have far too many bad memories involving RPG guns in games like Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines or Alpha Protocol. Ever played one of these? If you have, you might remember having to score *twelve* headshots on certain bosses, with your Pistols skill maxed out. Bloodlines took it a step further and became virtually unplayable in its later chapters, if you focused on pure gunplay.
So as I see it. Cyberpunk is like if you took Los Santos from GTA 5 and Pandora from Borderlands and put them into the Fallout universe that has the survival rate of Wolfenstein,Then turn futuristic up to 1000.
I’m hoping to be able to run quests that give me info on characters and events that happened on the past, during like cyberpunk 2020. That would be so fun to see bits of the history 🙏

On CP2077 being "our world" until the eighties... Not quite. Divergences start out in the early twentieth century, just as the Meiji Restoration Era closes out in Japan. Arasaka began as a lowly manufacturing company, with Saburo Arasaka coming to resent Japan's relative lack of involvement on the world stage, circa World War One. The Second World War has Saburo enlist himself as a kamikaze, only to fail in his appointed mission. Instead of comitting seppuku, however, he vowed to drag Japan onto the world stage and at the very top of its rungs - kicking and screaming, if he has to. Saburo is, obviously, one of the oldest living humans on the planet, circa 2077. Some say he's actually died and that his memory is simply being propped up, while there's rumors floating around suggesting that there might be some connections between Alt Cunningham, Arasaka and the Soulkiller virus. Considering the fact that Johnny Silverhand is a former beneficiary of Arasaka's apparent goodwill towards soldiers involved in the first few corporate-mandated scuffles near the end of the twentieth century, there's not so secret background lore suggesting that Arasaka were looking to develop Soulkiller as a means to extend the life of an increasingly paranoid Arasaka patriarch that placed less and less trust in his direct issue and in his own Board members. Poke around, and you'll find lore tidbits suggesting that out of the three Arasaka descendants left, only one is following Saburo's will. One of them left to found an anti-corpocratic Greaser-inspired Rockerboy gang - and the other one is the owner of the Rayfield V might attempt to boost, if you choose to begin the game with the Street Rat background. In shorter terms, it's Fallout New Vegas all over again. Then again, there's worse narrative devices to pull from, out there, than the undying despot looking to use a recent breakthrough to extend his or her life.
