- Welcome to episode 3 of GAME IQ. Throughout this episode, I'll be breaking down 7 different offensive sets that begin with a midfield dodge, and on one occasion, 3 dodges that lead to a goal -- dissecting the setup, execution, and defensive package reads. We'll discuss traditional dodges, low angle dodges, inverts, and "testing the waters".

I would watch an entire episode on connor fields because the way he beats massive defensemen at his size is literally magic
Attack dodging from x, attack dodging from the wing, attack shooting from 10-12, attack shooting from 2, midfield transition defense, midfield transition offense. Etc etc. it’s a lot to ask but my point is this series is great and should continue if you have the time of course! Thanks for all you do Paul and for being g a huge inspiration to college athletes who have been following you since they were little such as myself and for so many other younger kids who are able to follow you now. Nice! Again, thank you for another day of film. You and your teammates' LAX IQ shows how to be effective on and off the field. I will put my vote in for DEFENSE---specifically HESITATION SLIDES---something I am unfamiliar with!
Hey Paul ... hi from Australia, where I played goalie (most of two younger lifetimes ago :-), with a wooden stick, usually held almost vertically low for the shot, to scoop or at least flick up the more usual low ball, while expecting to move to take the ball on the chest if too high and quick for my upraised stick - though few threw as hard and fast in those days, as even the forwards’ wooden sticks - as good as they were in the day - generally lacked the sophistication of the modern stick.
The thought of facing guys like you is daunting, to say the least!!
These vids are an invaluable gift to the game that we all love, as you too continue to be.
My request: could you briefly go through and explain the terminology you use when describing the moves and positions in attack and defense in the contemporary game
Eg: sliding, cutting, pivoting of the hips ...
I do also have dreams of my granddaughter one day captaining Australia against the USA (-: It’s a different game I know, but I think there’s a lot here that can be adapted

I love all of these. I would love to see all positions, but I think a defender throwing some sick checks and what they are reading on the field would be awesome.

Sure do love the instructional film study...covers all too commonly lacking elements of the big picture (field position, reading defense, manipulating defenders positions, etc. etc....). Would love to see a lot more of this.
Great videos, can't say enough good things. My youth team should get a lot out of these! Would love to see Attack and Defense videos, maybe with guest commentators? Also something on Goalie Vision and on field communication/Talk.
Hey pual! These are great! I play LSM but still find these informative! Maybe talk about some 2 man game and or have a defense guest on the show like hartzell or durkin. Keep up the great work!

I think crease/off ball movement and how it manipulates defenses would be good. Young players, young coaches, and fans typically follow the ball a lot and miss out on what to do the 85% of the times you’re not carrying the ball

Show how you cradle when in shooting position. Are you only twirling your bottom hand by your handle? Or are you doing a slight cradle as well with your upper hand. I tried to watch you in slow mo but I'm not sure what hand is controlling that slight cradle before you shoot.

Middie off ball movement please, ive been trying to improve while stuck inside, but a new concept would help me be productive in my backyard
